I have finished the first two chapters for my first loving wives story and am looking for a couple of beta readers (preferably one male and one female) for some narrative feedback before I publish. One thing I am specifically looking for is an opinion on if the chapters are strong enough to stand on their own or should be combined into a single chapter. Chapter 1 is 5.8K words and Chapter 2 is 4.1K words. No need for editing, it has already been through two editors, just want the narrative feedback since this is my first foray into the genre.
Premise of the story has married MMC and FMC who start an affair with each other. The setting is in and around a church so there is some exploration of the tension between their religious beliefs and their physical desires as she goes through a sexual awakening and he is able to break out of a dead bedroom to embrace some dormant parts of his pre-marriage life.
