Fires in So. Cal.

Hi all you Lit people. I am asking a favor. I am a firefighter in Southern California and just so happens a lit fan that contributes occasionally. We could use some of your good thoughts for us here. This is the worst fire situation I have seen since 1970 ...I know, that really dates me but we need all the help we can get and could use your thoughts and prayers. Thanks.... WildFyr

I just want to say a very strong Thank you to you and your fellow fire fighters! Those in this line of work as well as all other public service jobs need to be thanked and have a prayer said for them every day! It is a thankless job until something happens!

My thoughts and prayers will be with all of the firefighters and all the ppl whose lives are being affected by these awful fires. Thanks for all you do for us. I am not in California, but sometimes firefighters and teachers are taken for granted and we all know what a bad shape we would be without them. So again thank you to all the firefighters and may God Be with You and help you to get these fire under control.

All our thoughts and prayers are with all of you fighting those horrible fires. My sympathy on the loss of one of your own yesterday.

My cousin lives in San Diego, and I talk to her everyday, just making sure she's ok. She said that the closest the fire has been to her and her family is 5 miles. That's way too close.

Please keep up the good work. All firemen have my special place in my heart. They always have and they always will.

My thoughts are with you also out there. Being a FF is a great job most of the time. But when somthing like this hits it can be the worst job in the world. I have been in the Fire service for 10 years now and have been lucky that here in the Mid-west we don't get wild fires like that here. I wish i was out there to help, but since i can't be keep your chin up and be safe.

My warmest thoughts and wishes for your safety and the rest of the communuities affected in So California. My sympathies to those families that have lost loved ones or their homes.

I just recently moved to the LA area and am bout 30 miles away from some of the fires. Im just amazed at the devastation of these fires.

Thanks for saving Julian and Big Bear.
We used to go to Julian often in October to stock up on their delicious Apple pies and go for a hike up Cuyamaca Peak.
Glad whe winds died down for you.
We got a lot of ash here in OC (NOT "The OC"!) near the ocean at NB, and eerie yellow days.
This is the 10 year anniversary of the big Laguna Beach fire, where big lessons were learned in construction and vegitation clearing.
Hope more people will wake up to these,
and that we can put more effort to fight the bark beetles before our other friends in Idlewyld get hit.
