Extreme interrogation, or more commonly known as "torture" is an extremely effective way of getting information from someone.
Do you believe that fingernail extraction, as well as the insertion of sterilized needles underneath the nails, should be used in police interrogations?
As far as my knowledge, any use of coercive physical force during law enforcement interrogations is strictly prohibited. But with the police state developments as well the rapid unraveling of legal and constitutional constraints against such treatment, it would not surprise me if coercive interrogations are a possibility within the near future.
The US government is already preparing to detain large masses of citizens under military control at secret internment camps throughout the country. After that, it isn't a very far jump to the rampant and pervasive use of torture for the purpose of political repression. Much like they do in modern-day dictatorships such as Iran and North Korea.
