Finally!

I'm getting some furniture today!

After living here for nearly 2 months and not having being able to use this big room for anything other than as a walk thru on my way to other parts of the house.


Maybe now it won't echo so much.



That's all. I just wanted to share my moment of happiness.

It isn't new however...


One of the firefighters who was there that night of the fire, happens to work with my mother and uncles. It happened to come out one night at work that he was talking about this fire he'd been working at and how they tried to get it out but couldn't.. the water lines kept freezing up and the wind was blowing so hard.. anyway, someone told him that it was my mother's daughters home.

He went to her and told her he and his wife had just moved and bought new furniture for their new home, and his old stuff was sitting in the basement.

I went to check it out and it was in pretty decent shape and hey beggers can't be choosers. ;-)

So my uncle and brother picked it up and brought over the living room suit and entertainment center to me and set it all up.

Finally.. a few things that I can call my own.

Yep.


At first the tv wouldn't fit so they had to take some of the shelves out and thankfully my uncle has his drill with him so he put them back in.. just more over to the side.



Oh and ughhhhhhh that friggin nosy ass landlady!

She trotted her tush right over when they pulled in, made the remark, "Oh I see she has some friends bringing her some things" then stood outside the entire time. Ugh

My uncle told me what she said and said that he didn't bother correcting her.. I'm waiting for my ex to get the call that I had *gasp* men over for a few hours.

That's the point at which I would have gotten out the garden hose and accidentally sprayed it in her direction.
