My roomie and me is fanatic X Files people. I make her tape it causs I usually work at the bar on Sundays. But I stayed home and watched it tonight.

So come on? aren't there any Chris Carter freaks on Litty?

What is gonna happen in the final episode?

You know, I love the X-files, but to be honest I haven't watched an episode all season. Something in me lost interest.
I became increasingly weary of the off story episodes, even though I fully understand they are an X-files tradition, and don't mean that I would want it to change, I just found that only episodes that held to the story about Mulder's sister, the whole deal between the morphs and the Rebel's, the Smoking man, and the apocycoliptical conception of inevitable alien invaision. I enjoyed that drama, but couldn't find the same interest in episodes pertaining to folk stories. I am oddly, a huge folk legend buff, and think that my old fashioned roots in the written text of these types of stories holds me from liking visual versions. I guess it just holds more mystique.

I wish I had watch this season though. From what I hear, I missed a lot. :(

Anyway, have fun with your thread.
Nice to make your aquaintance, BTW :)

Only watched it a couple of times...

...but found it very irritating. I couldn't get my head round the fact that the two main characters seemed to talk non-stop about every subject under the sun on which they seemed to know everything there is to know. From raising daffodils to thermonuclear dynamics, from cooking a pot roast to quantam physics.

Maybe the script writers have just run out of ideas...

p_p_man

I am like that, I know a lot about a lot. Do you still love me?
Should I squat and squirt for you to make you love me again? ;)

It's funney because I love the 'on story episodes' as you might call them. All about the alien plot and abductees and Scully's baby. But my roomie almost glazes over, she doesn't wanna haff to keep track of all the characters and what happened last season and all. She loves the ones about the three brothers who keep mom under the bed, or some swamp gas man or whatever. The gorier and nastier the better she says. They scare me and then I whimper.

But we both love the funny episodes, especially the COPS take off. I think Chris Carter should do a comedy series, he has a wicked sense a humor.

PS: what did anybody think of The Lone Gunman? will it be back? what girl couldn't love those guys huh?

And thanks G.R., is nice to meet you too.

Quite a bit, IMO. It was much better than I expected when they brought in the new character. It was interesting to see Scully move from the skeptic to the believer. I could do without some of the gross-out episodes. I don't mind a little blood and gore, but week after week takes away the shock value.

Then I am alone?

*chuckles* You are now talking to probably one of the only people in the world who can keep all the characters straight, all the actors who played them, episode titles, and everything STRAIGHT. Guess CC's dimented world works for me. *winks*

I used to LOVE watching it. Back in the first and second season when it was alot of the MOW episodes (Monsters of the Week, for you non-fanatics). And I even liked some of the C episodes (conspiracy). But as the years wore on, too much of it got to be Conspiracy.

And yes, the writers did start running out of ideas. Heck, remember the one of the first cool episodes, Ice? Hmm... then a couple years later, suddenly Firewalker comes by. Hmm... A team of scientists... lost in the middle of nowhere... all contract a virus... no way to leave... here come Mulder and Scully.. surprise surprise, they find the cause. But look! Now people think they got it! So? Quarantine!!!! The magical CC word that they use all the time.

I loved both episodes, (mainly for the Shipper stuff) But come on! Talk about repeating a storyline. Then what about when Mr. Pusher-dude came back. Oh, no wait! That was his sister doing that. Suddenly he was the good guy. *sarcasm to the Mulder-extreme*

Mainly, this last season has sucked. *smacks the imaginary Mulder in her head* Damn you, David! You fucked up the final season for us!

Truth is, he wanted to take care of his new baby, and all. So, his hours for taping were cut short, and they had to cut him out of the episodes. What better than an alien abduction? The problem is, as soon as they did that, they didn't spend enough time on Scully's search for him. Instead, they immediately tried to replace him with Doggit. Blech, blech, blech. I can't stand that boy!

Instantly, Scully becomes Mulder, and Doggit becomes Scully. Since when did Miss Dana Katherine BELIEVE EVERYTHING?! Come on, CC. Give your fans a little credit. Now that he's back, it's been a bit better. I tell you what though, while he was gone.. I watched maybe two episodes. The rest, I just downloaded clips from the internet. And those clips weren't even fantastic.

Anyone else completely want to smack CC? Hmm.. Mulder comes back, and TADA! Fuckin' Kirsch gets his wish, and Mulder's off the FBI. hmm.. anyone scent the END?

*takes breath and bows* Thanks for listening to my tirade... It helped to get it off my chest.

^.*.^

I haven't seen many episodes since after the movie. I just don't have time to watch TV that much anymore :(

wow Licci-Nicci, you is making me feel like a stupo.

No way I can remem all those details. I didn't think this season was that bad, but yeah, Dana's conversion was kinda lame. I hate to say it but I think this will go down with MASH and Cheers last episodes as pretty awful. (Though I saw them years affer they really were on so maybe they weren't that bad?)

My guess is the baby birth will be some bright light fuzzey deal, and leaving us to wonder.

But how about Lone Gunman? any comments?

WAHOOOOOOO!!!!

So the X Files is ending soon? Great. Maybe WWF can use that time slot for its WCW programming.
