Editing has been a great experience and I thank the mods, other writers, editors, and readers for helping to shape me into the writer that I am today. I salute you all.

I have already pulled up the stakes and am leaving for a new camp. The only question is, do I put out the fire (delete all of my stories) as I leave, or not?

I'm not sure, and so I leave the answer to you.

May as well leave them. Some have been up so long I'm sure they have been lifted by a ton of other sites as well.

Most free sites don't have forums or editing help. What can you gain in a vacuum when your vibrant comments and critiques are silenced.

Just interacted with Laurel. My stories are staying.

I've been a good editor in ways. I always keep the writers appraised of my progress with an email every two days so they know that progress is being made, or where they are in the line. Communication is so vital. Keeping a writer informed is critical to the process. I hear so many stories where writers have sent stories to an editor with no response for weeks -- unforgivable in my book!

But I will admit that I'm not an English major. I've read a lot and so I know what sounds right. With CLEP I passed six hours of English. But I don't know all of the answers, and SR knows this as well. My hats off to you all who have earned degrees in the confusing English language.

I just do what I can do, and it's good enough for Lit. But for those aspiring writers looking to publish, I can't help you. For that you need guys like SR71. We've had our differences but I can't not mention him, based on reputation.

EO, thanks for your support. But I think I'll take a break regardless. Time to let my anger quell. But I will keep writing and posting, and maybe do some editing on the side.

Well for a non-native speaker, I find little fault with your english. I have a friend in town from London who chides me endlessly on our American English. As to degrees or not, I learned some time ago from wine that it is more important how it tastes and how you enjoy it then all the snobbishness. I pay someone to purchase my wine and it is very good, he knows far more than me, but he simply asks what I like. I try to keep my language and grammar proper, but a good ear is often better.

That is my two pence. Good luck on the journey out there.
