The light hit Ethans eyes waking him early morning. As he rolled over he noticed that Shana was asleep next to him. He needed supplies so he left the room quietly as not to wake her up.

Ethan walked outside and then down the street, The local shoppe had just opened and Ethan would soon have to leave.

"What if she stays here? Will I ever see her again"

Ethans wrist hurt due to the jagged metal clasp digging into his skin. There were still only 4 stones lit. The doctor looked at the wound wrapping over it with some new gauze. Ethan purchased the supplies he needed and headed back to the inn.

"She'll say no, she doesn't even remember me! Im a total stranger to her."

Ethan stood over the bed where Shana slept, and dropped to a knee.

"I must leave now, I know you can't hear me but I couldnt wake you, your answer would hurt too much."

With that he leaned over and kissed her soft supple lips.

Sorry I'm late

ooc: i may need help about somethings. I don't remember much about final fantasy. I have played it before just not recently.

IC: The door swings open to Mr. Zain office and a sinister man appears. His black armor and sword clang together as enters the room.

"Mr. Zain, I have come as you have requested. My Lord." Yugo says as he bows.

"What can I do to help you my Lordship?" Yugo questioned with a smirk.

"More people to torture and beg for mercy?" Yugo smiled.

Meanwhile he is thinking to himself why isn't he where he should be, at the throne. yugo always thinks he deserves better and will do anything neccessary to get it, even kill his family.(heh which got him where he is now)

Shana stirred vaguely aware of pleasent heat spreading through her. Her eyes fluttered open and she saw that it wasn't a dream Ethan's lips were on her. Without even hesitating she brought her hand up and threaded her fingers through his hair as she began to return his kiss. When he pulled away she noticed surprise was registered in his eyes. Sitting up she held his gaze. "Last night I dreamt of a man. Except he wasn't a man, at least not a human one" she shook her head looking out the window "He said his name was Ramuh and he told me so many things. Things I never dreamed possible yet I know deep down that they are. I am not like other girls, nor am I like anyone else. I am a half breed, a mutation of humans and Espers alike" she looked back at him her eyes held pain "I don't know what is happening any more, I'm scare more then I ever have been in my life. And worst of all I don't know you. But I do" standing up she began to pace. "I remember your touch, your kiss... your love. But I don't have any memories of us together. They linger on the edge of my mind. All I know is that I can't make it on my own any longer. I need someone to be there for me or I will certainly go insane. I can't promise that I will remember our times together or that I will feel the love I felt back then though I do feel something for you. But I believe that we can make new memories and wherever you go I believe that I could be of great help to you" Shana sat down heavily and looked towards the floor. "But I am a half breed and now that you know what a freak of nature I am I will understand if you do not wish to travel with me any longer" She looked up at him awaiting his reply

"Many years ago I lived in a small villiage. It was in this village I met the most amazing and strong person I have ever known, you.
We were once very close... you owned my heart. One night I took you up to the cliffs nearby to ask for your hand but something terrible happened. We were attacked by a pack of bandersnatches and I couldn't help you. You fell and hit your head on a rock. I couldn't help you. I couldn't protect you. I couldn't live with myself. The doctors told me you wouldn't live through the night so I left, as long as I didn't hear you were dead in my heart you weren't. I joined SEED and fought as a mighty warrior, some said I was the next Squall Lionheart, but I didn't have you. And here we are so many years later, and we are right where we left off... well almost. I know the man in your dream. His name is Ramuh and he is the guardian force of lightening. He brought... he... he helped me find you."

Ethan couldn't tell her his secret. If she thought being a half esper was a freak what would she think of him if he told her he was... well, dead. She wasn't ready for the truth, yet.

"I need to leave you once again." A tear ran down his cheek, the pain was too unbearable. "Ramuh has charged me with a quest in the name of Gaia." He pulled out an old rusty sword, battered and half broken. "A man with a broken sword is going to change the world." He let out a slight laugh. " I will always miss you my lo... Shana." His eyes shut squeezing out a few more tears.

"What are you talking about? I am going with you if you will have me. Ramuh told me I should he told me that it would shed some light on me. I don't know what happened but I do know what we had was incredible and I do know that we can have it again. To my knowledge my brain does not remember you but my heart and soul does" she walked to where she stood in front of him almost touching. She gently whiped his tears away "Please don't cry. I am here now" her gaze caught and held his "and as long as you want me I am here" she stood their awaiting his reply and hoping he wouldn't turn from her in disgust for what she was.

Ethan

The words stung like salt in a wound. He had to tell her the truth... he wanted to tell her the truth, but he couldn't. Yes, he still loved her, now more than ever. How long would he have her for? If the mission failed, maybe a few weeks or months. If he succeeded Ramuh might take his life away.

"I would be honored if you joined me, more than honored. This is the Galbadian Captains private quarters. I believe there should be an extra uniform in the closet."

A look of confusion passed across Shana's face.

"Sorry, Ramuh told me that when I got to Galbadia I would be given a quest and here I am. We're posing as soldiers and were supposed to be looking for these crystals... Don't worry. I don't even know whats going on anymore. I'll grab the uniform. Is there anyone you need to say goodbye to before we leave?"

Ethan reached into the closet looking for an extra uniform. As he withdrew his arm his skin caught an old nail slicing his arm. Pure light spilled out filling the room with an eerie but comforting glow.

"What is that!!" Shana looked scared. Ethan didn't know whether if she was scared for him or her own life. Ethan quickly wrapped a towel around his arm collapsing into the corner. He felt abandoned, surely Shana would stay behind now, now that she knew his secret.

Mr. Zain's eyes glow evilly And he speeks to Yugo " After Youget the air crystal Gao and kill these people who hve the earth crystal But Make shur some one els carrys it and you carrie the air crystal. OK?"

Drake

looked around He f rom his point of vew was standing in the medil of a black room With lights all ofer the place . he hears foot steps comeing " Hello WHos there And where am I?" He words ehco through the place The man gets to drake and looks at him Drake speeks again."D-D-Dad but your dead"

She watched him reach for a uniform then all of a sudden light was pouring from a cut in his arm. Covering her eyes "Whats that" she asked worried something was wrong with him. When he covered the wound she hurried over to him. Kneeling beside him she touched his arm softly "What was that? Did light just come out of you?"

 

[Cryo]

CRASH!!!

a window shattered, and a man fell out. He plummeted down the gruesome looking tower to land harshly on a straw roof. Amazingly, he was unhurt (he had no additional injuries I mean). Climbing out of the hay, he ran out of the barn and fled. Behind him, horrible wails of anguish and anger howled, as the tower he fled from dissapeared.

an old man grimmased....

THe man ran and ran untill he could run no more. Then, through sere will and fear, he ran some more. He collapsed at a harbor, where some slavers found him and took him aboard.

a horrid beast snarled....

Lightning crashed. Energy from mens hands leapt from port to castle wall. A man in shining armor lay waste to some wherewolves.

a blue queen sighed....

All the while this sinister shadow of a face glared at him, beckoned hin, and threatened him....come to me my son.........come..........

K ayla woke with a start, a cold sweat soaking his sheets. His sheets? how did he get to a bed? He tried to remember, but it was all just a fuzz. Just like last time, he thought. I woke up in a comfortable bed, not knowing how I got there. a beautyfull, but youthfull face was there to greet him.... maggie...

Suddenly it came back to him. The fight, the crystal, him turning into some strange beast and then.... nothing. He looked down at his chest, but only found the same blue smudge. no hint of brown as he expected. did he really take the brown crystal?

the blue smudge was red however, as if someone tried very hard to wipe the stain off (stupid nurses). Speeking of nurses, where was he? Kayla looked around. He was devinetly in an infurmery bed. He recognized it as being standard in a castle barracks. (he recognized it, though had no memory of ever being in one.

Nurses quietly walked this way and that, tending to the faint groans of the other patients. Other than that though, it was a quiet, stone room. He thought he recognized some of the faces as being the guards from the throunroom, but who knows. He never got a good glimpse.

Speeking of good glimpses, he didn't see his new friend anywhere. And they just met too. Probably took the money from that creature too. Left me with not a dime. However, checking his equipment, he found that he still had the money. (he took a minor note that he was 3 levels stronger). Also, one of the potions in his possetion dissapeared in front of his eyes. So, he thought, she's still my companion. otherwise she wouldn't have access to his inventory. But where is she?

Kayla got up, and set out to look for her. He only barely noticed that he was naked, so he equiped himself with a few articles of cloths and armor he found in his inventory. (there was some good stuff. She must have shopped while he was out. Mythral armor, Silver sword, defence bracelet accesory, etc...)

So he set out. When Kayla stepped out of the stone imfumery, he was overwhelmed by a sense. It came from his right, deep in town. A connection that reminded him strangely of the crystal deep within him. Is that where the earth crystal went? or was he fealing something else, like fire. He went to investigate.

Ethan

Pure lifeforce! He knew about it and still couldn't believe it! Ethan pulled his arm away in fear. A few seconds later the light diminished and the wound seemed to heal itself.

"Shana, I know right now your very confused. All your questions will soon be answered."

Ethan handed her the uniform trying to change the subject.

Frowning at him she shook his head. "No you will tell me now. I revealed all my secrets to you, put my trust into you and you won't even tell me whats wrong. Please trust me otherwise I'm afraid our love will not survive" the words hurt as her gaze met and held his.

Drake

" dad What are You doin' Here ?"
" you Enterd My Jurnal Son. This is what a Centruian's jurnal is."
" So when I die I will become my own jurnal ?"
" Yes Some thing like that. So WHy did you come whats on your mind Son."
" Well ....." he opens his shirt Reviling his red Scar showing he is the kinght Of fire.And with out a nother word his dad begins to talk.

"Well Unlike what you probly think There Are truely only Four crystals And those are the base elements Fire, Ice Or water, Earth, and Air . The Dark crystal Is A liveing Breathing Person Of peur Evil. The crystal Of life the same thing Only Pure good But for either of them to Fully Be waht they are they need the baerers of the base elements to chanel themselfs in to One of the beings ethier the evil dark one or the one of puer light. Once you seen the crystals are nether good nor evil But The dark one can curpt the baers of the crystals I As the Crystal of life stoped him once and hid the crystal And chopse the next Crystal of life . The crystal of life will be some one who is dead but not dead he will be made of pure light."

Ethan looked at the door, but Shana grabes his head and turned it back to her. "Ignore it. Please, Tell me!"

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

"Please, GO AWAY!" shana yelled, almost at tears. She was so close to learning the truth.

"Shana? Is that you?" came the voice through the door.

"-Gasp- Kayla?" Shana looked back and forth from Ethan to the door, indecisive. "COME BACK LATER KAYLA, I'M BUSY"

"Later? I sense someting in that room! Something almost familiar. Something I know that if I see I'll remember. I've sensed it all the way from the castle infurmary! and you want me to come back later?"

"For the love of GIA, she said to go away. If you don't I'll send you away Permanantly!" the male voice came through the door, the threat sounding genuine.

For a few moments, there was silence outside the room. Than, the door began to darken and turn blue. The air grew cold and suddenly the door shattered. Kayla stood there, his hands outstretched and erect, as if pressing against the door, his eyes were glazed over with a glowing blue color. THe evil looking kayla looked at Ethan and took a step back in fear. "YOU!" he shouted. "HOW? we need all the crystals to unlock you!"

Ethan gave a confuzed look, while Shana yelled. "Kayla? WHat did you do? And what are you saying!?"

the pink sash tied around kayla's head glowed for a second. It was a faint glow, and a fast one, almost impercievable, but still there. Kayla's eyes reverted back to white and brown, and he dropped his hands. He then snapped out of whatever trance he was in, and looked at the shattered remains of the door. "Woh, what happened here?" he asked innocently.

Shana frowned as Kayla collasped hurrying to his. "Are you all right" she asked her eyes showing her worry. "What were you talking about?"

Ethan

Ethans wrist armor glowed now more than it ever had. What is the connection here? And how did he shatter that door.

"Is this Kayla an esper?"

Ethan threw Kayla over his shoulder and placed him on the bed.

"Your friend needs to rest."

Ethan sensed that Shana and this man had a connection, they had a bond. Ethan began to walk out of the room. He suddenly turned.

"Shana! I... I want to... tell you... but im scared... Im scared of what you'll think of me."

Shana dropped her head, she couldn't believe Ethan couldn't talk to her.

"As far as I can guess it was 2 years ago... After I left you behind I joined the military, and I was a most honorable warrior. I led entire legions into battle. I was the kings personal knight. While in battle we were flanked. I saw my men dying all around me, I saw blood stream over the dark soil. I was stabbed through the heart. That is all I remember until two days ago. When I was woken by Ramuh. But something was wrong. I felt different, lighter, I didn't need to breathe, my heart didn't need to pump.
I was dead, but still alive."

Shana stood confused. "What are you saying."

"Ramuh and the Gaia have brought my dead corpse to life. I am filled with pure lifeforce, hence the glowing light show. I am the Ethan you once knew. but now I have a goal in life, a mission. I have been charged with the mission of saving the planet. And that is why I need you. I know that now everything is different, and theres nthing I can do to change the past. At least I can do something to change the future. I must leave.... im sorry.

Shana felt like screaming. "Ethan..." she walked over to him and grabbed his hand "I can't leave Kayla like this, he needs my help. But I don't want to leave you" she pressed her lips to his for a brief but firm kiss that seemed to linger. "I know you must go, so go but please remember that I still love you even if my memories are gone my heart's are not" she lightly touched his cheek "and no matter what you are you still are the Ethan I fell in love with and the one I still love" the with one last kiss she turned back to Kayla fighting the tears that threatened to overwhelm her.

"I shall go to the Cotan Mountians and retrieve the Air Crystal, My Lord" Yugo stated.

"Also I shall take great pleasure in killing the thieves of the Earth Crystal."

After many hours of travel to and up the mountain, Yugo and his men are stopped by a small group worships of the crystal.

"Men dispose of these ants!" Yugo raged.

His men charged and were defeated almost with ease by only two warriors of the group. Yugo enraged by his men's failure sent him charging towards the two warriors.

"You shall die like all the others that have tried to take our sacred crystal." Yelled one of the warriors.

Swords clashed as Yugo and the warrior began a fierce battle. Yugo smirked as if toying with the warrior.

"Enough play, it is time to end this." And with that Yugo charged with an attack. the warrior brought his blade to meet Yugos only to have to broke in two by the blade of Yugo's sword. the warrior screamed in pain as the black blade pierced through his heart. Yugo twisted and turned his sword as he watched the warriors eyes roll back into his head. The others charged and with one swipe to each they all laid in a bloody mess atop the mountain. Yugo placed his hands on the Crystal and could feel the enormous power within the Air Crystal.

"Soon. Very soon, things will change in my favor. Yugo laughed.
now to deal with the group of thieves."

I have a question

ooc: is there a way to use the crystals to make people stronger or become part of that crystal? Like since I now have the Air crystal can I use on myself somehow? i still don't understand the full story the crystals or how to use them.

OOC; hey, noone knows really anything about the crystals. Were just making it up as we go along.

Kayla was dragged out of the bliss, into a world of pain and dispair. His head hurt and his eyes simply refuzed to open, but at least maggie was in his field of vision. Wait, that's not maggie, that's Shana!

Kayla came to with a start. "What's goin on?" he asked, looking around. The room was in shambles, and Shana had a few bruises on her.

"You were rantine around like a psychopath, that's what's going on."

"Huh? I remember having a dream with Maggie, but this?"

YES. you were raving something about the ice caves, then you had a fit and trashed the room" Shana was tending to her wounds, not that Kayla was awake and sain. At least you cound warn me when"
"PShshshy!" Kayla sushed her. "the ice caves. Wait a minute! were in burnia castle. which means that the ice caves are..........northwest of here, hidden behind a flaming tree in sunset"

Shana stopped in her tracks and looked at Kayla. "Are you starting to remember?"

"Kayla looked at her funny. "Yes, YES! no....... that's it. I feel like there's more, but it's hiding and I don't have the strength to drag them out yet. But at anyrate, we have to go to the ice caves. Something is there, and she's waiting for us....."

Drake Told his Dad About how he found the fire crystal And How he helped Geri receve her Earth crystal . He also told his dad how it had gotin into Kayla. His dad ex plaind That The dark crystal Was pobly Haveing Men loyle to him to Find the crystals and hold theem to thier chest So that the crystal would go in to theem And he coul use theam to Chanel theam selfs in to hime so he could Bring rain Of drakness to The world. With that said Drake snaped out of it he was once again at the kitchian tabel . it wa sthen a felling hit him Tha thay need to move and move fast And he had no idea why . He got up Pack his things . he Walkt to where they Hand the kings Body He still had hiS Pouch On him Full Of Gill ANd other things The thiff in Drake to Hold of the pouch and put it in is bag And left to get Geri. He left the castle to Find shana and Kayla.

Yugo glared at the Crystal as he brought it close to him. He rmoved his armor and brought the Air Crystal to his bare chest. Without warning the Air Crystal pulled out of Yugo's hands and began to burrow itself into his chest. Yugo screamed in pain as his transformation begin. Once the Crystal was inside his chest he fell to the ground as his body begin convulsing and changing. He looked into the sky as his eyes become a pure white. His pain stopped and he arose born again. Stronger and even more deadlier than before.

"Hmmm..I wonder?" Yugo said to himself as he began to lift himself off the ground. His body became the wind and he soared threw the air toward Mr. Zain.

"Now I feel the power that I was missing." Yugo laughed.

Shana tended to Kayla's wounds with a gentle hand. She knew the one under his rib cage was pretty bad. An ice shard had peirced him there and she was worried that it might cause him to much pain to travel. She lightly touched the wound and jerked back when she felt a surge of power in her hand frowning she ignored Kayla's and Ethan's look of surprise. Without thinking she acted on instinct she put her left hand over the wound covering her left with her right and closed her eyes. Suddenly a blue light emanated from her hand and soon filled the room. THen just as suddenly as it had come it was gone. And when she looked so was the wound. Standing up she swayed on her feet and abruptly sat back down staring in shock at her hands. She heard or rather felt Ramuh "Your esper self shows, learn to call it at your will child" his voice was soothing and it calmed her fear. Biting her lip a moment she stood up. Noticing everyone staring at her she shrugged "what are you staring at?" with that she smiled her eyes betraying her fear.
