Amber Glanden
Age: 26
5'3, 115lbs, athletic, girl-next-door pretty, mahogany hair, green eyes

One pink line.

That was a negative. Amber groaned and let her head fall against the bathroom door in frustration. It was always negative. All she wanted right now in life was to see two pink lines on that stupid little stick.

She swiped away a runaway tear and took a deep breath. Walking out into the living room, her husband Jonathon, who was on the couch, glanced up. She shook her head no and he shrugged.

"Probably better off not having a kid now anyway" he murmured as he went back to reading the newspaper. "I ain't got time for all that bullshit right now".

Amber narrowed her eyes at him. "Yeah you don't have time for much of anything anymore except work and golf".

Jonathan sat the paper down and rolled his eyes. "This argument again?" He asked, sighing dramatically. "I've told you the golf is business related. It's not my fault you don't have a hobby. Learn to sew. Or crochet".

Amber shook her head in dismay as tears filled her eyes again, as she was already emotional from the -once again- negative test. "You think sewing will satisfy me when all I want is to hold an innocent baby in my arms and raise that baby to be the best person it can be?!" Her voice rose a note as she got more upset.

Jonathan walked toward their shared bedroom, calling over his shoulder, "Get a life Amber!"

Amber watched the door slam closed and let the tears fall. Thats how all of their arguments ended recently- and there were a lot of them. he would just walk away and not listen to her side of the story. He didnt understand that the reason she wanted a baby so bad was not only to be a mom but to fill the void she felt where her marriage SHOULD be...

Charm, wit and gentleman-like qualities were why she had married Jonathon. But what had she really gotten? A power hungry, cold, bastard who didn't give a damn about what she wanted.

With tears streaming down her face, her pretty green eyes red all around, Amber snatched up her SUV keys and left the house, heading in the direction of the market. She would go grocery shopping to get her mind off of things and give them a chance to cool down. Maybe she could think things through while she was there...

Christian was breathing easy as he ran trough the park. The wooded trails provided a perfect outlet for him to burn off some excess energy and a brief respite from the hustle of the surrounding city. Early in the day there were few enough folks up and about that he had the run of the place to himself-- he could focus on the feeling of his long legs pumping methodically, the gusts of air that filled his lungs and the feeling of his feet as he traversed over roots and rocks, over logs and through the waist high ferns. That the park was so close to his apartment only added to the ease with which he could slip outside and keep up his exercise routine.

Christian was 30, and in rather good shape still, though perhaps nothing like when he was still twenty, but looking around it was easy to see the disrepair that his peer group had allowed themselves to fall into. Elbows lifting instinctively and eyes looking down, he negotiated a tricky bit of jagged rock and smiled to himself for such nimble footwork. Then turning his steps onto a side path, he began his accent up and out of the small ravine, mentally bracing himself for an influx of noise and humanity that would flood his senses as soon as he touched the sidewalk and reentered the world of the city.

As he padded quietly down the sidewalk he threw a wave to a neighbor out getting his paper and his blue eyes kept darting along the path before him, his strong arms swinging from broad shoulders.

He came soon he slowed to a walk, taking in deep breaths and trying to relax as he started to cool down. On the way home, as was his routine, he walked along his route home to the neighborhood market for a coffee, bagel and a couple of other supplies. As he came up to the glass front door he noticed that his blond hair was looking rather shaggy and he swore he'd give himself a haircut someday soon.

He pushed through the door and walked straight through to the cafe counter, smiling broadly to Maggy, the girl behind the counter who he'd often taken the time to flirt with casually while waiting for his order. Seeing Christian, she immediately started filling his usual order even before he said anything.

They chatted amiably for several moments until he went on his way, grinning cheekily, his basket in the crook of one elbow, bagel in hand as he sipped from his coffee. He browsed through the produce, his skin still glistening slightly from being in a lather, his thin shirt clinging to his frame. Picking up a loaf of bread and some milk, he was headed to check out when he paused in front of the flower display and picked out several salmon colored dahlias.

Amber pulled her hair back into a messy bun after she parked her SUV in the market lot. There was nothing she like do to help her eyes. They were puffy and red rimmed, and no amount of makeup would change that. Her nose was also pink as it tended to get when she cried a lot.

Giving up on her appearance she stepped out of the SUV and smoothed the wrinkles from her clingy tank top and her denim jeans. She walked over and got a cart, listening to the bustle of people all around. She began to collect the groceries she knew she needed, not paying much attention to her surroundings until something caught her eye.

A mother with a grinning baby in the cart. The baby was giggling and cooing and the mother beamed. Ambers eyes filled with tears again.

"Dammit!" She muttered beneath her breath.

Turning abruptly, she ran face first into what felt like a wall but was really a person.

"Oh god! Oh I'm sorry!" She exclaimed before focusing on who she had run into. A gorgeous man with shaggy blonde hair and the body of a god. Mentally she thanks god himself that it hasn't been some perverted only man instead.

She swiped at the tears in her eyes quickly. "I'm so sorry I wasn't paying attention she said again as she glanced up and then back down in an effort to hide the fact that she was crying.

Christian had collected his purchases and was heading along the front of the store, making towards the exit. Already he was thinking about getting home, taking a shower and getting started on what was bound to be another beautiful day off.

He was just sliding his sunglasses up his nose when something caught his eye. He was staring at that gorgeous back end, clothed in form fitting jeans, taking an eyeful starting at the floor and slowly working his eyes upwards. So perhaps it's safe to say that he wasn't paying the best attention, distracted as he was. She too was clearly paying attention to something else, her body language signaling her distractedness. So it was certainly a joint effort when they collided. She turned, not watching where she was going, he admiring her from behind when she ran smack into his chest.

"Oof!" He tried to recoil, absorbing as much of the impact as he as able, but even so it was a pretty solid blow, expelling the air from his chest. As he stood back, still clutching his bag under one arm, he looked her up and down once more, this time from the front.

'Shes a real stunner' is what he thought to himself as she took a step backwards and tried shading her face from his view. The net result of this was that Christian instead tried harder to get a better view of her as she stuttered and mumbled.

"I'm so sorry, you alright?" Thinking he must have hit her pretty hard to make her cry. But her eyes red rimmed and puffy, her cheeks tear stained he realized she must have been feeling upset for some time. The look of concern on his face deepened.

"Look, I don't know the sort of trying day you've had, but I'm guessing you may need these more than I". With a flourish he pulled a flower from out the top of his grocery sack, and pressed it into her befuddled hands, a comforting smile on his open face.

He turned to go then, making sure once more that she was fine. As he took a couple of steps away from her and further on toward the exit, he could somehow sense that she wasn't continuing on her way, but instead was looking after him.
Something made him look over his shoulder.

Amber was shocked when this man- this perfect stranger- pulled a flower out and handed it to her. She hadn't been given a flower in years. Not since before she was married. Her own husband didn't give her a flower, and yet this strange, gorgeous man in a random supermarket did, just because she had tears on her face.

She stared after him as he went to walk away. The longing for that kind of treatment on a daily basis caused a physical ache in her chest. She stood rooted to that spot, staring at the beautiful flower in her hand. When she glanced back up, she saw the man had stopped a few feet away and was looking back at her thoughtfully.

She took a few steps forward and gave him the tiniest of smiles.

"Thank you" she said, her voice quiet and soft as silk, despite the lump in her throat. "I'm Amber".

What was she doing, introducing herself to the duplicate of the Greek Adonis. There was no reason to do so- all she had to do was thank him. And yet she felt a pull to him like a magnet... It was unexplainable.

She saw handsome men all of the time. Se never had the urge to talk to them or introduce herself to them. She was married. Happily married... Most of the time... Well... Some of the time... Actually rarely. But she WAS married. And had no right to be talking to gorgeous men like him, no matter how friendly they were.

And yet... She awaited his introduction of himself.

Sensing the hesitation in her voice, he overcompensated with his friendliness. He took her shyly proffered hand and held it warmly, his eyes meeting hers as he answered, "Amber, hello there. I'm Christian. "

He waited the space of a few more breaths, expecting her to continue speaking. When she didn't immediately offer up anything further he continued. "Look, I'm really sorry about crashing into you like that... If it makes you feel any better, I was a little distracted with checking you out some right before our collision." He flashed his most disarming and flirtatious smile, looking shyly downward and then back up to her face again.

"Like I said, I don't really know what's going on in your life, but if you need a friendly ear, I'd be willing.i just hate to see you in such distress." He looked her up and down again, his eyes lingering over her--hoping he wasn't making her uncomfortable. She really was gorgeous in an unpretentious sort of way. "If now isn't any good, we can catch up another time...besides I really need to go home and jump in the shower...I'm on my way home from a jog."

Amber felt herself blush and actually smile when Christian admitted he had been checking her out when he bumped into her. The smile he gave her was enough to bring a stronger woman to her knees. Amber laughed softly, her hand still being held within his. She saw him looking her over wished she had something sexier on...

He asked if she'd like to talk sometime.

Immediately her response was to say no.

"Oh I'm sorry I can't I... I'm... Well I'm married" she said as she fiddled with her ring. "He's the... Well... The reason I look like the north end of a south bound donkey is because of the... My marriage".

She blushed, embarrassed she had admitted that.

Oh but how she ached to go with this man... Throwing caution to the wind, she flashed him a brighter smile.

"You know what. I won't bore you with talk like that. But if you'd ever like to get together some evening I'd love to do that just to get out of the house for a while..."

He was gonna say no, she was sure of it. She was married. She shouldn't even be saying what she had said but she couldn't resist. He was gorgeous and sweet and she was just tired of not getting treated like she deserved to be treated.

'Married'. The word rolled off her tongue in way that indicated she wasn't totally happy in the arrangement. He thought back over his past, and wondered if there had ever been a time when that had gotten him into trouble before. Probably, but he wasn't quite remembering it just then...

Te smile she gave him though was a winning one, one destined to win over hearts and minds. If it wasn't at the front of his mind when they met, it was now... He really wanted to get to know her better, perhaps even in se kind intimate manner. But he wasn't going to show all his cards at once.

He watched as she fiddled with her wedding band as he answered in a slow and cautious manner. He didn't know if he would get a chance with her, or if being too bold would set off alarm bells in her head.

"So I'm really not going to try coming between you and your husband...that's not really what I'm about. But yeah, why don't you drop me a line sometime, or shoot me a text. I'll answer for you." As he rattled off his cell number to her she gave her hand a brief squeeze and let it fall from his grasp. "Until next time, huh?"

Amber couldn't believe she had just gotten another mans number... And yet she repeated it in her mind over and over again, making sure to memorize it. He gave her the most charming smile yet and then walked away, leaving Amber to stare after him.

Christian.

The name (and his number) was engraved in her mind. As she checked out and loaded her things in her SUV she couldn't get him out of her mind. Should he call him? No she definitely would not to do that. Text him? She shouldn't.

But would she? It was a possibility...

She drove home where Jonathan was still holed up in their bedroom. Within thirty minutes he walked out, dressed in his golf clothes, and left. Without a word.

Amber sat down in the kitchen chair. When had her life gotten like this? She was in a practically loveless marriage, unable to get pregnant and nothing to keep her occupied. Jonathon demanded she stay home to cook and clean for him. No job. It wasn't what he wanted for his wife.

It drove her crazy.

She glanced at the wedding band on her finger and had the insatiable urge to fling it across the room.

Instead, she got up and went to pick up her cell phone.

She typed in the memorized number.

Are you busy tonight? -Amber

She knew Jonathon would be golfing until late evening and then would go to have a late dinner with his clients and wouldn't get home until well after 3 am, smelling like alcohol and perfume. His assistant's perfume.

She would have all night to do what she wanted... Was this what she wanted?

She hit send. It was the only way to find out.

It had only been a couple of hours since their chance encounter at the grocers when his phone buzzed in his pocket. As promised he went directly home put away his fresh supplies and got into the shower. Since then he'd been in the yard, getting things done in the garden, a beer close to hand, its label smeared with topsoil.

There he had turned over the meeting in his mind, wondering what he might have said or done differently that might have led to a different outcome. Was there any other way? Suddenly he felt as though he were on a collision course with this woman.

The thought lingered in his head, that one word: married. He didn't know the situation certainly, but he thought it over. He didn't want to break up a marriage, that sounded like a recipe for disaster. But she was hurting so badly. Soon Christian was wondering if the fact that she was married made her all that much more attractive. She was a hell of a looker to begin with.

He brushed of his hands and picked up his cell phone and started thumbing in a response, he promised himself that he'd be on his best behavior. 'Hey, to be honest I'm free all afternoon. Just working around the house. What did you have in mind?'

Amber's heart jumped when her phones ringtone chimed. With shaky hands she picked it up and read response. She laid the phone down and paced nervously, trying to make a decision. This wasn't cheating. She didn't have to cheat on Jonathon. This could just be a friendly meeting.

But it was dishonest. Which went totally against her morals.

Screw morals, she thought to herself.

Drinks? Late lunch? Dinner? I don't care. The sooner the better. Macky's on Central Ave serves all of the above. Meet me there at 3?

She hit send before she could hesitate and then walked into her bedroom. The bed was rumpled where Jonathon had laid after their earlier fight. She smoothed the bedspread out and then walked to her closet. She tried to decide what to wear. For her friendly meeting. She repeated it to herself. Nothing more than a friendly meeting.

She picked out a pretty sundress that she loved. It hugged her petite body like a second skin on top and then floated out before ending right above her knees. The pale yellow color really accented her tan skin, and the v-neck showed just a bit of cleavage- enough to be a tease of what was beneath.

She slipped it on over her head and then pulled on a pair of white wedge sandals. She left her hair down she brushed it until it shone, framing her angelic face perfectly. She spritzed on some Victoria's Secret perfume and applied a very light layer of makeup.

She glanced at the clock. It was 2:15. If she left in 15 minutes she would be right one time. Heart racing she paced the floor, wondering what she was getting herself into.

'Alright, Macky's it is. I'll see you soon'. As he tapped send there was a feeling of foreboding that washed over Christian. He really didn't know what he was getting himself into. Ok, he had some idea to be sure, but he wasn't quite ready to admit to himself that he was hoping to commit adultery with a married woman. Ok, so maybe that is exactly what he was hoping, but only a little.

The thoughts ran through his mind as he pulled on some slacks and buttoned up a nice shirt--one that did much to flatter his wide shoulders. He was wondering how long it had been since he'd been to Macky's or if he knew who was tending today.

Macky's was only a handful of blocks from his flat, so it was no problem for Christian to walk there. Which was good he thought, since he would likely need a few drinks in him before he was totally comfortable with what he was about to do.

He pushed into the dim interior and made his way to the bar. The place was pretty deserted at this time and he had the sweep of the bar to himself. Ordering a pint he picked it up off the bar and made his way to a seat in the corner.

When three rolled around he was moments away from getting up to go, after several minutes of convincing himself he wanted no part of a married fling. Shit could get real--real quick, going down that road. She was married.

And then she walked in. Wearing a sundress that nearly drove him wild, she was looking so good. And she knew it too. She was delectable, with little curves in all the right places and an outfit to show it all off to excellent effect. Suddenly Christian wasn't going anywhere. She was married, but of course she was...no one looking that good would stay single long. He covered for the fact that he was standing by waving her over and pulling out a chair for her and calling over the barkeep.

Immediately when she walked in Amber saw Christian standing and waving her over. Her pulse skyrocketed and her palms grew slick but she forced herself to keep walking in that direction.

He beckoned for the bartender and amber smiled gratefully. She needed a drink to calm her nerves desperately. She ordered a Captain Morgan and Coke and then turned back to Christian, taking a deep breath.

"Can I say first that I never... And I mean NEVER, do things like this. I never even go out with girlfriends, let alone a man that I don't even know" she said softly, her eyes wide with the truth of what she was saying.

"But thanks for meeting me". She smiled assuredly at him. He looked gorgeous in his trousers and the shirt that he filled our so magnificently. Her fingers itched to run over those broad shoulders and she chastised herself. That wasn't something FRIENDS did.

The bartender chose that time to deliver their drinks. Amber took a grateful sip of the concoction. Her smile was nervous, but more steady after another sip.

"So... Christian. Um; tell me something about you?"

She was curious about him. About his life. What he did for work? For fun? Was there a chance HE had a significant other as well? She really just wanted to get to know him.

As they settled in across from one another, he started trying to gauge how many drinks it would be before they were able to talk openly and frankly with one another. At the nervousness he heard in Amber's voice, he was guessing it'd be a least a couple. Then he found his mind wandering to what she might be wearing under her dress, if anything, she almost certainly wasn't wearing a bra. As she leaned in and started asking about him, Christian couldn't help but let his eyes dart downwards toward her exposed cleavage, delightfully spilling out of her plunging neckline.

"Me? Oh you know, romantic walks on the beach, preferably by moonlight... What else is a guy supposed to say to a question like that?" He smiled, his blue eyes meeting her green. "Hiking? Gardening? I'm a teacher at the high school so it seems infrequent that actually get to have adult conversations." He paused to take a long pull from his glass, tongue running over his upper lip as he set the glass back down. God, now he was wondering what her lips tasted like. Not ok, she's hitched, he said to himself." So what about you, and what's making you suddenly so adventurous if you never go out?" He lightly brushed his fingertips across the back of her hand where it rested on the tabletop. "Why me? Why now? You just trying to get out of the house more, make some new friends? And a random stranger is as good as anyone else?" He laughed in a self depricating sort of way, hoping she'd say that was all. Then again he really wanted to see her out of her dress.

"Those are hard questions to answer" Amber said. "You shoulda let me have like two drinks first", but she smiled at him shyly. "I had a really bad morning. A bad fight with my husband followed by him completely ignoring me. Then when I bumped into you in the store and you were so nice with the flower and all... Well it just made me realized how badly I need more than what I'm getting." She shrugged.

"And then when I got home he left without a word to go play golf and that's when I texted you".

She took a few more sips of her drink and began to relax some. Her eyes traveled over his body and the thought occured to her that she and he would make gorgeous babies together. But what was she thinking? She was married!

And still... He was tall, handsome, blonde ad just sexy, and he had a good personality to match with it. Better than her own husband. She would rather have Cristians baby any day.

She mentally put her foot down. This was ridiculous. She shouldn't be thinking that way at all.

SHE WAS MARRIED!

"Wanna take a shot?" She asked as she signaled the bartender. "I'll buy".

Two glasses were set down in front of them, and Christian looked skeptically at the amber liquid in front of him. He hadn't really been planning on making it a party when he was going out for a few casual drinks with a friend, but hey, why not. He took a deep breath as they both slammed their glasses back down on the table. Yeah, this was going to be a long afternoon.

He said sincerely, "Forget about the flower alright, it was nothing, really. I just saw you in such rough shape and I couldn't help myself. I would like to think I would have been there for anyone, if I were able. But to be sure, you definitely caught my eye."

He shook his head, she was fresh from a fight with her hubby...clearly her judgement was effected and the drinks were sure to be a hindrance on that front... But he really wanted to get to know her better... "Tell me more about your husband, why the fight?" Thinking to himself, how could a guy possibly be so stupid as to drive off a woman like her? Then he changed his mind a touch: "I guess you don't have to talk about him if you don't want."

He winked at her then and lay a hand on top of hers. "How's that shot treating you? Feeling more relaxed?" He asked, thinking bout how quickly it was working into his system, and how relaxed he was already beginning to feel. Damn, how long since he'd done a shot with anyone? In his mind he saw the afternoon unfolding. He desperately wanted to get her alone and he wondered if she could sense that too.

Amber smiled across the table as he asked about her marriage. "There's a lot of issues between us" she began. "Long story short- he expects me to sit at home and play little miss housemaid while he goes out brings home the bacon but I'm bored of it. He's very emotionally unavailable and doesn't care about my feelings a lick. All he cares about is money- oh and golf... Which his secretary apparently goes to with him since he always smells like her". She shrugged.

"My life story in a nutshell" she mused.

His hand landed on hers and a tingle of awareness shot through her. Slowly laid her other had upon his so his was sandwiched between her two. She leaned forward a bit so he got a nice view of her cleavage.

"The shot was nice. But I'm over the nervous stuff now. I just wanna forget all of that for a while. Can you help me do that?"

She flashed him her best smile and sat up again. A great song was playing on the restaurant juke box.

"Do you dance?" She asked as she stood up. "I haven't danced in years, but I love to".

Her hips automatically began to sway to the beat, as if begging him to come and play, and her smile was enticing, serving to draw him in like a moth to a light.

With his hand clamped firmly between hers, he was hard pressed to deny her a dance. Even had he wanted to, the hypnotic motion of her hips made her impossible not to follow along with. He was suddenly thinking about how much he wanted this woman. Not only was she so easy on the eyes, but she was a hell of a mover too. He's often heard it repeated that dancing is nothing more than a socially acceptable expression of what two bodies want to do together. This was totally the case here.

Out in the floor, she was not shy at all about pressing her body to his, and he gave as good as he got, moving his hips against hers, turning her under his arm and pulling her back against his chest, arms draped over her chest. God, this was going to get hard to explain after she noticed the bulging erection in his pants. He could feel it stirring ready and before long it'd be impossible to hide.

Amber was pleasantly surprised when Christian immediately stood and began to move with her. The way he took charge and began to spin her around the dance floor made her smile

Their hips meshed together, grinding against each other, before she would spin out and away and be pulled closed again by his strong arm. A few times when she was back to chest with him, she thought she could feel the beginnings of a pretty impressive hard-on but she couldn't be positive with all of the moving she was doing.

By the time the song was over, Amber was breathless with pleasure. She walked back to their table hand in hand with Christian. Instead of returning to her seat, Amber chose to move to the seat directly beside him.

She took a drink of a fresh beer that was on the table as smiles at Christian, her eyes dancing with amusement.

"Are you single Christian?" She asked cautiously awaiting his answer. "And it doesn't bother you that I'm married?"

Her hand was still in his as she asked. And was afraid he would come to his senses soon and decide to leave. As this thought crossed her mind she thought to herself...

This isn't just a platonic friendship..

As the song came to an end he was a little sorry to be retreating from the floor. It had been months since he'd gone dancing with anyone. He had forgotten how much fun it could be, and how sexy. But he wasn't upset to note that she still held his hand in hers, fingers meshed tightly. As she led the way his eyes were lathes on her ass and a smile was plastered across his face.

When she sat beside him instead of across from, he was a little surprised, but he certainly didn't take it as a bad sign...especially given that she didn't release his hand. Christian took another look drink, his breath settling down as he leaned back in his chair. Then she started speaking again and asking about his dating life. Was he worried she was married? 'Well... That depends I suppose' is what was running through his mind.

Giving her an appraising look, Christian slowly began to answer. "Me? Yeah I'm single, about as single as they come. I go on dates every now and then, but it's been a while since I've come to any sort of agreement with anyone. And as for your being married... Well, I'm not ashamed of anything we've done so far, nothing that two friends couldn't do together if they chose, right? That's all we're here for, isn't it? He'll ill come right out and say it, I think you're a very attractive woman, sexy even. And while I don't really want to further the rift between you and your hubby, I will say that any man who can callously mistreat a woman like yourself ought to spend some time alone to get his mind right. But no, I don't mind being friends with a married woman. And I probably flirt with married women pretty often...sometimes it gives them a genuine smile unlike one they e had in a while. Like the look on your face, compared to when we first met."

He was smiling, but as his little monologue drew to a close he was all seriousness. He wasn't totally sure what he was getting himself into, but there was certainly an undercurrent of sexual tension between them. His body language was screaming that he wanted to get her alone. His eyes were raking over her body, taking in each line and curve as if trying to memorize it all. Perhaps it was the drinks talking, but he desperately wanted to get her alone and he wondered if she could sense that too. He thought about ordering another round of shots, but that would only cloud his mind more, and he really wanted to remember this afternoon and to enjoy their time together. He drank from his beer again and have her hand a little squeeze, smiling her way again, his eyes lingering on hers and as he tried to not glance down at her cleavage too often.

Amber thought about what he had said for a few moments and then smiled at him. She could feel his eyes on every inch of her body like an actual touch. Her nipples tightened beneath her dress. She didn't have a bra on and wondered if it was noticeable. She took another sip of beer and then began to chat with him.

They talked about their lives, what they liked and disliked, what activities they enjoyed... And Amber found herself growing more and more attracted to him if that were possible.

Three hours later Amber had only drank a few more beers and was pretty sober still. A slow song that she loved came on the radio and she glanced at Christian.

"Wanna dance again?" She asked him quietly, her beautiful green eyes gazing into his, full of lust and attraction. She wanted him, wanted to feel his body close to hers, to feel his hands upon her.

Standing she waited to see if he would join her.

After several more hours of chat and several more beers his guard was down. He was totally disarmed by her and ready for just about anything by then. So when she asked him to dance again it came as no surprise and he was immediately ready to. He thanked his lucky stars that she was only asking to dance, and not anything more...yet. He did notice as he pulled his chair back from the table, that the song was a slow one, a very slow one. He was very soon going to have his entire body pressed up against hers. And he wasn't complaining.

As he followed her out into the floor he watched the sway of her hips and the tilt of her head, some all adding up to a very erotic experience. His hard on had thankfully settled, but how log would that last at this rate. He wasn't a huge guy by most measures, but he was pretty big, and certain to start showing that off if he held her tight little body to his for very long.

When she turned and held her arms out to him, he accepted her body and drew her in close. She rested her cheek against his shoulder and he was certain he heard her inhaling deeply of his scent. They started stepping slowly together to the music and he buried his nose in her hair. His hands started sliding up and down her back, something he'd been wanting to do all afternoon.

"Mmmn, nice," was all he said for several moments, letting the feeling sink in, the feeling of being pressed up hard against such a gorgeous example of a woman and not caring saw. She was so desirable, and I he was any guess, the feeling was reciprocated. "It's been a long time since I've danced like this," he whispered. "Your husband really doesn't want to do this with you? He's a damn fool. This feels so good." The silence between them spanned several more moments. "He's been keeping you happy...otherwise...Right? I mean, he makes you feel like a woman, doesn't he?" Christians voice was losing its forcefulness as he ventured out into unknown territory. This was far from kosher. She was married. He had to keep reminding himself.

Amber was intoxicated. Not by the alcohol. It had nothing to do with it. But by the gorgeous man before her. Everything about him was drawing her in, making her realize how much she was missing at homeS

Sure her husband had sex with her. But he didn't care about it. He only did it because it was his job.

She moved willingly into the arms of Christian, resting her cheek against his shoulder and sighing softly as his scent filled her lungs. He even smelled like a dream. His hands were on her back, rubbing softly, soothingly.

His whispered words made her breathless.

"He... He does what he feels is required of him" she said softly, her hands spanning across the top of his back, feeling the muscles there beneath her palm.

"Nothing more, nothing less" she said softly. "He doesn't care".

They spun slowly around the dance floor in each others arms and she wondered briefly if he was feeling the level of attraction that she was. WAS she drunk? She felt as if she were, but she didn't think she was. It was all Christian.

Slowly she pulled back, her face a mere couple of inches from his. Her lips barely an inch apart from his.

"Christian..." She said softly, her eyes wide.

An for a moment the rest of the world collapsed into just this one woman and just this moment. They were still dancing but it had more or less devolved to simply swaying their weight from foot to foot in time with the music as they held one another close. He closed his eyes, leaning in a fraction of an inch. 'She's married' flashed through his mind, and he still speculated as to whether or not that made her sexier, more unattainable, more elusive and risky.

His lips were so close that he could feel her breath. And then the moment was over. He opened his eyes and leaned back, planting a kiss on her forehead as he did. The song had ended several moments before and he stood back awkwardly, dropping his arms to his side. He looked her up and down once more, mulling things over in his mind. Yes he still wanted her. And before she was totally aware of what was going on, he had paid up their combined tab and was guiding her toward the exit.

"I need to go get some air, it's getting too stuffy in here. Want to take a walk with me?" He didn't know exactly where they would go, or why would happen, but getting moving would perhaps provide some clarity on the issue...and it would mean he was somewhat less inclined to make out with her and start to feel her up. Ok, maybe nothing was going to change that fact, but it was worth a try.

And as they slipped outside his hand found hers, fingers twining together. It was the most natural thing in the world.

Ambers heart sank and her eyes widened when she realized what had been about to happen. She had been about to kiss a man. A man who wasn't her husband. He kissed her forehead gently and she leaned into the embrace. Screw her husband. If he treated her like he should she wouldn't have to be looking for affection elsewhere.

Christian paid their tab even though Amber offered some money for it and then asked if she would take a walk with him. She smiled and nodded. The restaurant was near a beautiful park with a lot of walking trails. Flowers line the trails and there were secluded sections with benches that offered beautiful views of the city lights, and even the nearby river and bridge.

They headed in that direction- hands fallen together automatically as if they were meant to be there. Their fingers entwined as try entered the wooded trail that led to the park.

"Tonight was incredible" Amber said as they walked in the quiet. Her voice was soft and silky away from the blaring music of the restaurant.

She inhaled the smells from around them. Flowers, trees as grass mixed with the mingling smells of the city. It was an intriguing combination. They could still hear the occasional blare of a car horn or bass of a radio as it passed but it was mostly peaceful.

"Do you ever wish you had something more in your life?" Amber asked, really thinking of her life and how she wished she had more.
