last week i had a fever, for the first time in forever.
i'd completely forgotten the feeling.
like your head is trapped inside a bubble.
and your brain cells are swimming in syrup.
everything outside your head looks and sounds strange.
the world is distorted.
everything inside you head is slow, sticky, clogged up.

coming out the other side is surreal.
memories are like an untuned tv station.
you can't quite make out what really went on.

people spend a fortune on drugs to recreate this!

The best part is that every minute your fever was over 102F, you killed about ten million brain cells.

The better part is that you won't notice them being gone.

Glad you're not, like dead or something.

That is exactly how I feel right now, am not enjoying it at all.

That sounds horrible. :(

I'm glad you've come out the other side. Yikes.

I once had a fever, and every time I closed my eyes, I thought I was 800s England. Like, the entire country. It was strange...

I had a bout with teh flu last month, complete with fever. It was only the second fever I've had in the last 30 years or so, and I hated it immensely.

No plague symptoms, but there were a few consumption-like symptoms.

norovirus is a fever accompanied by gastroenteritis.

spicy food? not such a good idea.

i ate a peppermint oil capsule to try to ease the cramping.
it tingled my bumhole like i was pooping toothpaste.

a temperature tends to put one off eating anyway. i was being flippant.

just about everyone i know personally and many more besides have had nv this year, one after the other. it got me after i thought myself well clear of it.

i am now imagining someone rolling you up from the toes . . . and brown (eww) toothpaste

When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like
Two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain
You would not understand
This is not how I am

I... Have become comfortably numb
