Femme Fatale Fiction?

I've been toying with writing on the Femme Fatale thing and been racking my brain for an angle.Are there any ideas/stories out there featuring a strong temptress getting the better of a hero character?

Borrowing from the Sherlocke Holmes thread, I'm thinking Irene Adler and our detective or Electra from The World is not Enough and Mr. James Bond. Of course, it doesn't have to be about existing literary characters. I'd prefer to use them as archetypes for original characters.

I wrote a femme fatale story once (see signature). Sort of a James Bond style. Maybe it will give you some good ideas.
