I've alway's heard about men gettin sex changes, but never women. What's the deal with that? Can it be done? What is the price difference of the sex change for men and women? Is there a difference in the risk or somethin for the different gender's?

You always hear of men getting sex changes cause they want to join the superior sex!!! :D Women don't want to give up their brains just to become men :)

Well my first question would be - can it be done? Maybe with a donor penis, but I kind of doubt even that. It is a whole lot easier to add a vagina and breasts to a man.

I do not believe that a man who has had breasts has had his gender changed; he is not a chick with a dick, he is a guy with breasts. Even with a "vagina" he really isn't a woman; he is a guy with an externally accessible body cavity where his penis used to be. As far as I know they have not been able to add a uterus/etc. to a man yet, nor be able to change his brain to be a female brain (there are differences).

Personally I think such operations may be a disservice to someone who has, IMO, psychological problems.

Women can and do, in fact, have sex changes.
There was a thread about this but I can't seem to find it.
I'm sure if you do a search on phalloplasty you'll find some info.

Well I thought everybody knew sex changes could be done...either way too. And STG why would you think that if someone wants a sex change that they have "psychological problems"? If that were true...wouldn't you have to say the same thing about gays and lesbians???

Well for one thing, because it is called "gender dysphoria", and for another, because most people who have gender dysphoria do not get gender reassignment therapy, but rather get psychological counseling.

If that were true...wouldn't you have to say the same thing about gays and lesbians??? [/B]
Many homosexuals, female and male do have psychological problems related to their homosexuality. I am not saying homosexuality itself is a psychological problem, but rather the stress that comes from social, cultural and sometimes legal taboos cause these problems.

There is a difference between gender dysphoria and homosexuality; the former is a natural behavior and seen in over 450 animal species, whereas the latter is not.

stg, a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing.

the differences in the male and female brain are not that significant. gender is almost entirely a social construction. those who are transgender do not always elect to have surgury but many do decide to live their lives as the gender they feel they are.

If you had read my post, you would have realized that I did ask "Can it be done?". As for a man that only has breasts, no I wouldn't consider him a woman, only half a woman till he gets the rest of himself changed. :D

Just because you don't have a uterus doesn't mean your not a woman. If you really think that then the women who have had to have their uterus removed for any reason would no longer be women in your opinion.

If a man has sex with a former woman, and in your words you do not consider that now man a man but still a woman, is the guy having sex with the former woman is not gay, right? Cause they are stilling fucking a woman, even though she now has no breast or a vagina.

If a woman has a sex change, and since you still consider her a woman would you suck her dick? LOL

You also get hormone therapy when getting a sex change from a man to a woman...that I know...and when hormone levels change in your body so does your way of thinking. You brain wave patterns are proven to change with hormone therapy. See so the brains do change.

The DSM-IV does include gender dysphoria. Homosexuality was also listed and erased from the DSM in 1973. Why? Sufficient information was gathered. Due to lack of psychological testing, studies, and publishing, the DSM-IV will include transgenderism. I'm sure, like homosexuality, after enough work has been presented, transgenderism will also be erased.

Call me crazy...lol...

All I wanted was some information about the subject. Instead I got opinions on if someone considered ppl that had sex changes a man or a woman.

Does anybody have any info about it?

Well I guess this thread got ruined. I really don't care now. I just thought I'd bring some new disscussion to the board, but instead I got someone's useless opinion in a thread that didn't ask for opinions on if you thought men and women that had sex changes were still the same sex or a different sex.

To the ppl that replied to this thread's question or who will reply to the orginal question...thank you.

But this is my first thread and probably my last because at the start of my thread someone changed the content of it and refused to answer my question. I wouldn't have a problem with ppl stating other opinions in this thread or any other, but to start off with something completely different is rude, and they never did try to answer my question. Just hijacked it for their own purposes.

Next time I have an idea about a thread I'll pm it to the hijacker and let him fuck up the context I was trying to get at and let him post it.

LOL
:)

P.S. I don't know for sure how to spell hijacked...so don't get onto me about that :) I'll be happy to take pm's about my spelling though :D

Hope everyone has a great day!

Actually, if you read the posts there was at least one that answered one of your questions by answer my repeat of your question "Can it be done?", and if you went to the URL I provided you would have found answers to some of your other questions as to costs and risks.

I did start my own thread rather than totally run off with your thread - but I am sorry if by causing your questions to be answered I "ruined" your thread.

Look, threads go off in tangents - that is how we learn things. I could understand if you were upset if I came onto your thread and did nothing but flirt with seXieleXie for many multiple posts, but my posts were at least relevant and certainly did not prevent anyone from answering or addressing your questions.

Don't give up so easily.

Oh well.i guess everybody got somethin new to think about and to look into too.
Keep's the board alive.
