Felidea Royal Court

Tagor sighed lightly as he did his own part in the preparation of the royal ball,
and while the girls rushed off to pick out their beautiful dresses Tagor was checking up on the castles security for the upcoming party.

He wondered the castle halls alone, speaking to each of the inner castle guards as he moved from check point to check point, making sure that everything was in order and everyone was doing what they where suppose to be doing to insure the royal families safety and even for the safety of the potential suitors.

It was his job after all, and even though he despised the idea of allowing all these suitors into the castle and around the princesses Tagor had a sworn oath to follow and his sense of duty overrode any of his own personal feelings.

Continuing on in his inspection, Tagor passed through the servants quarters.
It was silent here now, since most of the servants had already gone to the ball to tend to the kings guests or to help in the kitchen.
Most of the doors were shut and locked up tightly however one of the doors caught Tagor's eye since it was opened slightly.

Moving over to the door Tagor peered inside and saw Kali, one of the many maids that worked within the castle fast asleep on the bed. Sighing Tagor pushed open the door and knocked on it loudly to wake her.

"If you sleep now your going to miss the ball mis Kali.." Tagor said simply.
"I doubt your head adviser would take that very lightly and I'd hate to see the girls favorite maid-hand get fired now because of tardiness." Tagor's ears twitched lightly then as he heard a small bark coming from his feet.

Looking down Tagor spotted Almathea's pet MaCavity as it stood up on it's high legs and barked for attention.

She must of left her pet in Kali's care. Tagor thought, knowing that Almathea only trusted a small handful of people to watch over her favorite pet.
Tagor then heard Kali's mumble something but, it seemed she was still a bit too drowsy from her sleep, if she was even awake to begin with.
Tagor then shut the door quietly, not exactly sure if Kali would attend the ball or not but at least now with the knowledge of MaCavity being there she had a reason not to.
He on the other hand wouldn't be so easily forgiven for not showing up, by both King Ramos and the princesses themselves.

After having done his rounds, Tagor made his way to his small room on the other side of the castle and changed into his royal uniform
The other guards attending the ball would also be wearing this, but Tagor's uniform would have a few more heroic badges on it since he seen far more battles then most of the guards here in the castle.
But looking at it in the mirror, as he prepared himself, made him frown.

"What a joke" He thought, as he buttoned up the last remaining button to his uniform. Balls and dances where made for rich nobles whom enjoyed flaunting off their richly trimmed outfits and doing nothing but talking pretty and sucking up to one another.

To a solider like himself it was rather dull and pointless.
Still, Tagor had to admit he was kind of looking forward to seeing what the princesses would look like in dresses. It had been ages since the last time they last did so but back then they were a lot younger and hadn't developed yet into fully grown feli.

After putting on a pair of white gloves that was all mandatory for guardians. Tagor started making his way towards the royal dinning hall.

Night had fallen over the courtyard now as Tagor made his way to the dinning hall, but he slowed in his foot steps as he spotted King Ramos stepping out of the his and the queens living quarters.

The King was dressed for the ball now, and looked to be in high spirits, the look changed however as he spotted Tagor and showed a frown that was similar to Tagor's own.

They shared an indifferent stare at one another for a moment with Tagors cold golden eyes looking into Ramos's only burning one.

The King then turned and started walking towards the ball room, before stopping for a moment as he spoke.

"Tonight, I'm expecting everything to run smoothly Tagor." King Romos said while his tail flicked back and forth in silent warning. He had the demeanor of a king giving orders to a lowly solider.

"Make sure nothing goes wrong while everyone enjoys the party and keep a special eye out for Minx and her childish antics"

Tagor frowned at that, he knew his job and what was expected, he didn't need the king to tell him this but he remained silent, only giving a light nod in understanding.

"Oh..and another thing...don't even think about trying to court with one of my daughters. Else you'll find yourself loosing more then just your rank next time." The King said before continuing down onto the ball room where he would be awaiting his signal to enter.

Tagor growled at the kings words, remaining where he was for a time in silent anger.
He had known the princesses since they were small and had practically grown up with them, and while he did care for them more then a normal royal guard should it wasn't much more then that.

Tagor knew he wouldn't be much of a mate for any of the girls, not when he was just a solider with hardly any noble background to support them, unlike the many noble suitors that were lining up for them and all hand chosen by their father.

The thought of Minx, Cameron, Almathea, Wynn being married off to some snobbish noble annoyed Tagor to no end and his tail swayed back and forth with much agitation.
The girls were certain to resists of course, and maybe even deny every suitor their father picked out for them, but even if that was the case the king was still going to have them marry through a forced marriage in the end and win.

The only upside to this setting was that perhapses not all the suitors where bad... and that the daughters could indeed find a suitable mate that they liked and could be happy with. It be even more fitting if the guy they chose annoyed the shit out of King Ramos.
Tagor smirked at that idea and hoped it would happened.

Hearing the king's introduction and toast Tagor decided to enter the ball room then with a sigh. It was going to be a long night.

She almost groaned when she realized she had to sit beside their father, while Minx sat on ther other side, next to him. She knew her father did this on purpose, for he could keep an eye on both of his eldest daughter's behavior and also to poke fun with both of his daughters. When their father came to give a lingering hug to each of his daughters, she returned the hug and she quickly caught a quick sniff from the cologne he was wearing. The smell was quite familiar to her, but she dismissed it rather quickly and just continued to stare blankly at the many suitors who were now all seated.

Their father stood up after picking his wine goblet, his voice demanding attention from every guests in the banquet hall; including the four daugters and his Queen. For Cameron, she was having a glass of lemonade-based shandy; she never did like the taste of alcohol much but shandy was an exception for her. She almost chuckled when she watched their father giving his speech about allowing each of the suitors to have their own chances to get acquainted with his four daughters, but after that, he was giving a warning to not get overboard. At that warning, she watched most of the suitors had a slight frightened look upon their faces. That was their father; protective but at the same time quite laid-back.

Cameron did gave her own glare towards their father when he was trying to humorous about wanting to have the princesses married and so he could be relieved but when it was time for a toast, she lifted her glass and then drank in unison with the rest. She blinked her crimson eyes as their father had asked both of the eldest daughters to rise from their seat, and she exchanged a look with Minx before she stood up slowly while placing her glass upon the table.

When their father introduced both of them, she gave a short glare towards their father before shaking her head. Well, it wasn't far from the truth but she did gave a glance towards Minx when their father introduced her as the prima donna. Ouch, their father really did had a few tricks up his sleeves. It was there when their fther leaned over to give both a kiss upon their cheeks, and she couldn't dismissed the King speaking to them in a tone which only for them to hear. The warning was subtle, but definitely clear that he meant what he said. She heaved out a gentle sigh and allowed Minx to start with her introduction first while knowing after her, she was needed to give her own introduction.

Cameron winced slightly when she knew their father gave a kick to Minx's shin when Minx tried one of her schemes. She knew if she tried, she would be receiving the similar treatment. After Minx gave her introduction and sat down, she released a soft sigh when it was her turn. Before she started her introduction, her father gave her a gentle nudge and then pointed to his own lips, giving an indication that he wanted her to smile. A twitch was noticeable upon her left eyebrow and then a defeated sigh was expelled from her lips. She stared at the wide sea of suitors before she forced a sweet and pleasant smile upon her lips. The smile looked deceivingly genuine though.

"Pleasure.. to meet you all." She started, though her mind was already saying, 'Yeah, right.', but she continued. "You can just call me Cameron. I am the second eldest daughter, after my sister, Minx. Of course, that would mean I am second in line to the throne." She paused to take a sip of her shandy, and she found herself feeling funny. Perhaps it was the dress, she told herself. She pressed on after a short moment, "I like to go for horse-riding, and to do my own exploring as well. And also not forgetting, that I do like to spar more than often with our very dutiful knights. Which means, if you ever see me wearing a knight armor, it didn't mean I am just dressing up for fun." She shot a glare at Alexander, to ensure the message was sent through, but she received a kick on the shin by her father and she winced loudly. Glancing at their father, the King gave the same deceivingly sweet smile but the hidden message was sent through easily. That means you too, kiddo.

The corner of her lips twitched out of annoyance but she continued with her introduction, "But.. if you ever would like to have a small yet entertaining spar with me, please do not hesitate to do so." Unless you have a death wish, that is. of course Cameron didn't spoke out the last sentence and she cleared her throat, after ending her small speech of introduction then she sat back down upon her seat.

Alexander had been shaken out his attempts at pushing aside those earlier thoughts by the arrival of another suitor, turning to meet the young feli male and nodding his head before addressing him with a short and simple greeting of his own, "Hiya."

Not that there had been much more to say to anyone at the moment, as most of the suitors seemed to have been chattering amongst themselves about the girls of various activities which he held little interest about. It's one of the reasons he rarely enjoyed himself at such a get-together, thanks to the majority of his fathers guests not being the types he'd found fascinating in the least. Of course, he may have been jumping to conclusions, he realized. This was certainly on a grander scale then anything else he'd taken part of in the past, so he assumed not everyone here would turn out a complete bore.

His attention again took a turn in another direction as they found themselves joined by yet another suitor, this one sitting across from where he currently sat, dressed up in a suit which even peaked Alexander's mild interest in fashion choices.

Watching as Clayvor introduced himself to Vincent, the dark haired feli reached across the table to return the courtesy when he'd been offered up a friendly handshake, "Name's Alexander. Or Alex, if you'd prefer. It's nice to meet you."

Turning toward Vincent, he decided to offer a hand his way while they were going about making introductions, seeing as how all of them would have to spend the following year around each other, "Vincent, same to yourself."

Eventually, things began to get underway as the messenger showed up to announce the King, causing everyone of the suitors to stand at attention and out of respect as the father of the girls whom they were here for made his entrance. Alexander hadn't seen the King in person since he was little, and even then it was always from a distance as his father didn't trust the lad to not make a scene. He could only imagine the type of reminders his old man would have been whispering into his ear at this moment about respect and the family name. Looking at him now, the main thing he'd noticed was how well the older feli had aged throughout the years, especially if he had to deal with raising these girls.

King Ramos went on to greet the masses of suitors seated around the banquet hall, coming to the point where he gave out a fair warning to any of the young males who may have less then honorable intentions for being here. Alexander felt he had nothing to worry about in that department. While he may have let himself get caught up in Cameron's natural beauty, he knew that underneath that dress remained the same tomboy Princess who liked dressing up to play soldier. And while her sisters were lovely sites to behold in their own rights, it wasn't enough to make him stray away from his own reasons for being here.

After joining in on the toast, Alexander watched the two older daughters as they were introduced by their father, letting out a slight snicker at the way he decided to describe each of the pair. Going by his own experiences, he might have picked 'spoiled brat' in order to describe Minx, but he had to agree with the Kings assessment over Cameron. He could only guess at what he had to say about the younger two when it came their turn for introductions.

Listening to Minx speak, the male feli rolled his eyes when she brought up the apples and glared his way, fighting the urge to start rubbing at his tummy in a mock gesture at having enjoyed the earlier snack. Much as he may have enjoyed teasing the prima dona Princess, he'd already dodged one attempt at tossing him into the dungeon earlier in the day and wasn't in a hurry to test his luck around her father. It really was hard to believe that she was the oldest of the siblings. Of course, for all he knew, the younger two could have been even worst then their eldest sister.

When Cameron's turn came up, he again tried to avert himself from focusing on how she looked in that dress, instead listening to what she said and staring at her above the neckline. She went on with introducing herself, putting on a front which he assumed to have been an act of pleasantries, at least when going by her earlier showing. Then again, could have just been him she had a problem with, although the feeling was pretty mutual on that end. When she came to talk about her dressing up in knight armor, he took immediate notice of the glare aimed in his direction, flashing her a cocky grin in return.

"Sure thing, poser." He mumbled out in a whispered tone without really thinking, earning him a few curious glances from a suitor or two which were seated around him, looking around while slightly embarrassed, "Uh, sorry, did I say that part out loud?"

Trying to play it off and hope he didn't accidentally come off as too much of an ass, the feli male picked up his glass and took another drink, drinking down about half of its contents. He did, however, resume paying enough attention to the tomboy in order to catch the open invitation to a sparring match. While he may have dismissed her as being nothing more then a pampered Princess who dressed up for fun, his curiosity at seeing just how talented she really was had him considering the offer. At the very least, it could prove fascinating to sit in on a sparring session with herself against the guards.

Sipping at what remained of his drink again, Alexander watched Cameron sit back down while awaiting the proper introductions of her younger siblings on the opposite side of the table, idly starting to size the girl up in his mind for if they ever did come to 'friendly' blows.

Ramos

Although it seemed the king wasn't paying much attention he was definately watching the crowd and the girls. Each time they spoke his eye trained on them but what peeked his curiousity was the strange glares they both seemed to be favoring upon some unsuspecting suitor. He tilted his head to the side when Minx had first done it but she had been quick to recover least he had learned of the man involved it was when Cameron did the same that, Ramos' line of vision travelled to the suitor in mind. He eyed the man who had that ever present cocky grin. He must have said something because the others around him gave him a rather blank stare. Hmmm? The king's mind was already at work as he too remained on the man until he had his undivided attention. He smirked knowingly but then quickly stood to his feet after Cameron's introductions were complete.

This was becoming quite fun for the king as he stood behind both girls patting them on the head. He knew they hated that especially in public. He roved over all those present but fell dead on Alex where Ramos squeezed both Minx and Cameron's shoulder softly to get their attention. He never looked at them but kept his eyes trained on Alex just to see their reaction. Minx caught her father's line of sight and blanched. It was that apple theif, had her father learned of what happened earlier that day? Was he on to them? She kept her cool either way but when she ventured another look to her father he was smiling wickedly down on her. Shit! Whatever he was up to it had something to do with Alex, Cameron and herself this much she knew. Ramos then turned to Cameron as well the same wicked grin on his lips as his gaze returned to Alex though he threw a quick discrete wink the man's way. This would definately be fun, he already had ideas.

Whistling to himself he patted the girls one last time before gliding over to his youngest daughters. "Stand." He beckoned in his cool gruff voice and smiled into the crowd this time no one had caught his vision as he spoke. "And now I bring to you my youngest daughters. A ravishingly gentle space-case, be careful she has a nack for disappearing." Almathea was presented with a soft nuzzle to her ear. He then turned to Wynn about to nuzzle her but his nose picked up on something interesting. A smirk came to his lips alluding to something devious in him. "Ah! What do we have here..." Ramos took a clawed fingernail dragging it along the hallow of Wynn's neck before it fell to the dip between her chest. "It would appear my little girl is all grown ...oh no wait..." He dipped his finger into her dress elicting a gasp from his queen; he only favored her with a smirk as he pulled out one candy after another from her hidding place. "Well it appears my little sweet is quite fond of sweets. And with her bottomless pit of a stomach I'm surprised she hasn't put on the pounds as well." He chuckled patting both girls gentle on their shoulders as he ushered them forward. "Go ahead ladies, introduce yourselves.

Tagor quietly slipped into the Royal ball room.
Being a guard he knew he wouldn't attract too much attention anyway and since he wasn't one of the potential suitor he wasn't permitted to sit. (Not that there was any available seats left anyway.)

Moving to the side of the room and next to a few of the decorated pillars that helped hold up the balcony above, Tagor leaned against the pillar as his eyes wandered over the mass of suitors that King Ramos had picked out for his daughters.

They were all young feli males, some a little bit older then others but none of which looked capable of handing the kings daughters, at least in Tagors eyes.

He wondered how many of them them would simply give up once they learned of the daughters true personalities and how many more wouldn't be getting out of this unscaved.

Keeping his golden eyes on the audience Tagor listened to the princesses as they introduced themselves. He smirked at both Minx's and Cameron's greeting and wondered how many of the suitors were already intimidated by them alone.

Tagor finally took the moment to glance in the royal families direction and his eyes widened in surprise. He couldn't believe how much different the princesses looked, compared to when they were smaller. The dresses matched them perfectly even Minx's which was a little too revealing and Tagor had to cough a little while looking away a little embarrassed at finding him staring himself and wonder how the hell their father allowed her to wear it. Not that he was complaining of course.

Cameron whom he had grown used to seeing in boyish clothing was simply beautiful if not slightly humorous from the obvious discomfort she showed.
If he hadn't known her he's easily mistaken her as the feminine type whom enjoyed quiet strolls through the park and romance novels.

Wynn was cute as always, however the dress she wore, Tagor recognized, was one given to her as a birthday present a few years back. The dress still looked absolutely new however Wynn had obviously grown out of it as her more womanly curves pressed against the fabric, putting a bit of more emphasis on certain parts of her body that let people know she wasn't a child anymore. The fact that she had sweats stuffed into her dress didn't help any though, she was still the same Wynn Tagor had always known.

Almathea was simply dazzling within her dress and Tagor could sense many of the suitors eyes focusing onto her with mixed intents. She was arguably the most beautiful of the four sisters and the aura she gave off to those around her was warming, even if it was a forced one.

Tagor drew his eyes away from each of the princesses after a time, they were all beautiful in appearance and in their own inner personality that made each of them unque and special in their own way.
They were true princesses of the royal family that any of these suitors could (if lucky enough) end up with and Tagor couldn't help but to feel slightly jealous as well as wonder which girl he may have gone after had he been a suitor.

Their father was late. Or he would be, if the King was ever late. Not one of his subjects dared question how they had to wait upon his arrival. It was the King's right to come and go however he wished and they didn't want to get punished for speaking out against that. Still, she could see the general antsy atmosphere of the room, young and not so young males, shifting in their seats as they stared at each other and the royal family. It was quite a crowd their father had gathered. There was no way he had planned this out only since this morning. With this many Feli from what appeared to be several different cultures, he had to have sent out mesengers at least a couple weeks in advance. Though he had seemed to have failed to research these suitors completely. There were a handful of Toms that kept eyeing one another in what seemed to be a rather special way. Well at least those were some males that none of her sisters had to deal with.

"All arise, Your Majesty, King Ramos has arrived."

Almathea automatically rose to feet with the rest in the room as her father entered in what she supposed was to be a grand entrance. It seemed that the announcer had not held up to the grandiose image King Ramos usually tried to create. Though she had to admit that his cape was splendid as always. He wasted little time in pleasantries, striding towards them in moments and hugging each of them in turn. Catching a whiff, she frowned. It wasn't so much the odor, though that was strange too, but the faint feeling of something being off that grabbed her attention. Still none of her sisters seemed to mind and so she took her seat once again as he began to address the crowd of suitors among them.

Then they raised their glasses in a toast to the night's events and royal daughters incoming doom. She found the action faintly ironic and smiled into her tea, though it had been colored to look more like a deep red wine. She'd been doing the same since she was nine and had been quite stubborn on the point that she wanted to seem grown in these semi-public events. Now the servants did so automatically and she never really thought to tell them to stop.

Then their father began to introduce them and she winced in sympathy at the nicknames he gave her elder sisters. They were appropriatte but still rather a low blow, pointing out what would most likely seem as faults to those that were trying to court them. Of course they were trying to push them away and this could work in their favor, but they had their pride after all.

Hearing Minx introduce herself, she found it hard to keep her composure, coughing lightly into her napkin in an attempt to hide the alughter that was trying to sneak out. She had been expecting something of the sort, just not in that manner and it caught her by surprise. Still she did manage to get herself under control with a terse look from her mother, in time to hear Minx warning people from her apples and for Cameron to introduce her own gracious self. Which she did indeed seem to be. Almathea was fairly sure that her pleasant smile and tone of voice would have fooled her if she hadn't known the girl her entire life. With that out of the way, she dreaded what their father would say about his two youngest. It was gauranteed to not be kind at all.

Rising once again, their father patted her sisters heads and then squeezed their shoulders. Curiously enough though, he didn't move just stared at one point in the crowd. Raising an eyebrow, she tried to follow his line of sight but the only Feli male that she could place was the one Cameron had been staring at earlier. Oh dear. Their father had found out that she had taken a shine to that one. They did not need the king playing more of a matchmaker than he already was. Now she just knew that she'd never hear the end of this from Cameron. Finally the staring contest stopped and he moved over to wear she and Wynn sat, telling them to stand. Which she did, but gripped her chair for a few moments and blinked. Suddenly she had felt rather light-headed. It was dis-orienting. Had the servants put a bit of wine in her glass as a joke after all?

"And now I bring to you my youngest daughters. A ravishingly gentle space-case, be careful she has a nack for disappearing."

Almathea froze as he nuzzled her ear before moving onto her sister. She'd expected him only to give her some derivative nickname like he did the others, not some brief warning. It wasn't as if she disappeared on purpose. Well she used to not disappear on purpose, others would just forget that she was there or that she was supposed to be there. In time it just became easier to slip out of the room rather than watch and wait for them to remember her. Of course she guessed that she was being a little unfair.

"Ah! What do we have here...It would appear my little girl is all grown ...oh no wait..."

The audible gasp of her mother made her turn her head. What she saw made her eyes widened just a bit. Their father had just put his fingers down between his youngest daughter's cleavage. Why in the world would he venture there? Then she saw the sweet he pulled out and she visibly settled down. Apparently, he'd just realized one of Wynn's hiding spots. There wasn't even any point in asking why Wynn had felt the need to sneak the sugary confections in here.

"Well it appears my little sweet is quite fond of sweets. And with her bottomless pit of a stomach I'm surprised she hasn't put on the pounds as well."

Mentally, she sighed. That was even meaner than what he'd said about her. Wynn was going to be fretting about her weight now. Well no she was going to be in fierce denial about her weight. Her sister had grown over the years but more into emerging from being a kitten and into a young Feli cat than anything unsightly. Grinning their father squeezed their shoulders, ushering them to speak.

"Go ahead ladies, introduce yourselves."

Oddly enough, she liked being able to slip away as easily as she usually did. Being the center of attention, among so many Feli, made her very nervous. Standing there, she observed the crowd for a moment, then the walls. Her eyes came to rest on Tagor, a familiar face among many strangers. He seemed just as uncomfortable as the rest of them. Though she was kind of jealous that he didn't have to be standing here, introducing himself to all of these males that only really wanted them for wealth, power, or a quick tyrst. Well excluding about five that had seemed far more interested in the suitors than the princesses earlier. Finally focusing on a bit of empy wall, she pasted what she hoped was a gracious smile on her face and spoke up.

"I am Almathea."

As the words slipped from her mouth, an idea suddenly occurred to her. One that would probably match one of Minx's schemes. She shouldn't say it but she was in a peculiar mood and she knew that no one, not even her father would expect from her. The smile she know wore was genuine, a seldom seen mischievious glint in her eyes.

"I know you were all brought her to woo us and I could give you details of my hobbies and what I would prefer in a mate, but truth be told, I will have none of you."

An audible gasp filled her ears and she wasn't even certain of where it came from or if it was many that reacted thus. The hand on her shoulder tightened in warning, but she ignored it, feeling strangely emboldened at the moment. She wanted to get this out of the way before her courage failed her and she would be forced to apologize for something she whole-heartedly meant.

"Unless, you can tell me a secret that only I and one other knows."

She didn't elaborate, just sat down again and took another drink of her tea. She was going to pay for this later, she knew it, even now she was mentally freaking out over what she had just done. There was a distinct possibility of a dungeon in her future.

Vincent and Michel both listened intently, but for very different reasons, Michel was listening to them to find out what they had become, curious as to how they would act in reaction to their fathers scheme, there was no way they knew about this three months ago, his money was them finding out when the suitors arrived. Vincent on the other hand didn’t expect to be wedding any of the princesses at the end of the year, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t enjoy himself a little, so he was trying to remember all of their hobbies.

Michel missed the first few seconds of Minx's introduction, still holding back laughter at his fathers new pet names for them, but what he did hear of it was exactly as he expected it to be, his fathers name for her may have been rude, but by god was it accurate. Vincent chuckled at minx’s introduction, taking it as one big laugh, she would certainly be fun to talk too, and he wouldn’t mind one of those apples from out the front, they did look so good, besides, he never passed up a challenge at chess.

Cameron’s speech was much less comedic, but Michel wondered if she had bitten off more than she could chew with that one, a lot of the people here would see that as an easy way to get in good with her, find their way to her heart in the middle of a fight, but if they got a little overzealous in the fight, well then Michel would just have to inform them of the boundaries… with a bat. Vincent recognized Cameron as the one who was practically in a suit of plate mail earlier today and decided that she was out of his league as far as a fight was concerned, he was just hoping they would have something to talk about if they ever had to.

Michel didn’t laugh this time when the king poked fun at the two younger princesses, he could barely remember their faces, let alone how they acted, so he was listening to what they were about to say much more intently. He smirked when his father found the candies in Wynn’s dress, he would send her some, no doubt she would be on a sugar ban or she wouldn’t have had to hide them. When Almathea stood and took the stage he instantly turned his attention to her, he could already tell that she was going to pull something, but what?

Both Michel and Vincent’s eyes went wide as they fought the urge to laugh “what in gods name was that?” Vincent asked in a low voice so he wouldn’t really disturb anyone “I can tell you one thing” Michel not bothering to lower his voice like Vincent had “I like her”

As Almathea took the stage and started her introduction Tagor noticed all the googlng eyes that where on her. Her voice was crystal, like that of an angel's, sweet and sincere which added so much more charm to her words that many of the suitors seem to have found heavenly.

"Truth be told I will have none of you."

Upon those words all of the suitors faces cracked and fell open to her blunt statement, that was even said so sweetly and caused many gasps to fill the room

Even Tagor found himself taken aback by what she had said, since Almathea was usually the most held back one.

And here she practically told all the suitors to screw off.

Tagor smirked then...looking down to prevent a chuckle from escaping his lips as Almathea the second youngest sat back down in her seat and if she saw him she'd notice his silent applause within his eyes.

That only left one daughter, which was Wynn and Tagor couldn't help but to wonder if the cute feli would be the suitors only source of salvation and chance in wedding at least one of the girls.

Looking around he could see many of the suitors already looking like they were going to give up while a few looked hopeful for Wynn to not be as bold or scary as her other sisters.

Still Tagor could only guess what was going through Wynn's mind and with her anything was possible.

Cameron almost scowled when their father gave a pat upon her head; her tail stiffened as she knew her father did so on purpose in attempt to embarrass them in public. But she was slightly alarmed when he gave a squeeze upon her shoulder, which drew her attention to glance up at his face. She blinked her crimson eyes a few times, as she noticed him staring at someone among the sea of suitors and she followed his gaze. To her dismay, he was staring at the rude jerk from earlier in the apple garden. Did her father found out what she did with him? Did their father knew what both Minx and herself actually did, by threatening the male feli that he would go into prison? All these question ran in her head, one by one before she boldly looked at his face again.

Oh great; it's that look again. Whenever he had something planned, which involved mischief in his hands, he would give that wicked grin and she took a small inaudible gulp. Ohh, this was not good for Cameron and Minx. She somehow knew, this would involve her and her eldest sister, along with the rude smart-mouth among the large number of suitors. This would just ruined everything, especially the bargain both her and Alexander had exchanged. And she so wanted to make sure she didn't need to do anything with the jerk anywho.

She was relieved when their father moved away to allow her two youngest sisters to introduce herself. She ignored the introduction of her father to delve into the matter at hand, as she knew her father was up to something. But when she heard her mother's gasp, she turned her ehad to see their fatehr sticking his fingers into a place that he should not ventured. Her lips almost parted in surprise and was about to stand up to stop their father, but when he withdrew a sweet from the hiding place, she sat there speechless. Wynn, wih her unsatiable appetite for sweets.

This time, she paid attention when Almanthea began her introduction and she was listening while taking a sip of her shandy. What she said next made her choke. Was she really tempting Father's patience? What her younger sister did was unexpecting, but she found it rather foolish. She wanted to smack her hand upon her forehead as she knew their father would be furious with her now, and that he must be deciding a suitable punishment for her. She felt a sort of responsibility over her younger sister and she quickly stood; the dragging of the chair drew attention towards her.

"Ahh.. That is my sister, Almanthea. Isn't she humorous? And she is quite bold, really. Don't you think that quality is very admirable? But let me just say a few things about my sister; she's very wonderful and actually very loving. Do not hesitate to approach her, if you would like to." She was done and she sat back down, while expelling a gentle sigh. She needed to do the saving for her younger sister, and she acted quickly at reflex. The second eldest sister looked over to Almanthea, before flashing a small smile towards her direction. Well, after all, they all were sisters. Sisters needed to stick together, right?

Minx (some Ramos)

Of course Minx had not expected such an outburst from Almathea at all. She had been content to fume in her seat as she crossed her arms over her chest and slumped in the chair. She didn't care how unbecoming it looked, she was infuriated. So much so that when she heard a gasp coming from the queen she turned to find their father going places he wasn't supposed to. Like so many others she had a right mind to jump up and defend the youngest of them but as candies were brought to the fore of his scheming ways she glared at him then Wynn. When would that girl ever learn? She sighed sitting back once more as the rude semi-introductions were presented to the youngest.

Their father just didn't seem to hold any punches nowadays. Why was any of this necessary? It wasn't like any of them couldn't find their own matches in everyday life. It was simple they simply weren't ready. As Almathea began her speech, Minx's eyes were on nothing and everything. Shifting among the crowd until she fell on Tagor. A smile spread over her lips as she gave him a quick wink in approval of his attire. While the guards all wore the same, only Tagor seemed to wear the uniform the best. Her ears twitched slightly when Alma began to talk she vague heard what had been said but turned swiftly to the other feli blinking. She truly had said that... truly truly. And unlike many, Minx was not one to hold back she let her approval be known in a rather uncharateristic laughter. It spread over the silent hall as she clapped her hands though was half way stopped by Cameron's need to defend her sister. "Oh please. I applaud your boldness, Almathea. Look at that my little sister standing up for what she believes in. I second that notion as well, gentleman." And with that she remained silent in her seat save for the continued chuckles.

Now she couldn't wait to hear what Wynn would say and after having her sweets stolen she'd definately would be in a foul mood.

Ramos had tried to warn her, had tried to stop her but the boldness of which Almathea had shown was too swift for him to control. And as she spoke her peace then took a seat he had to admire her strong will, even against him. Finally she was growing up but with such actions came consequences. He would not embarass her more in front of the crowd. Something was off with her this evening more unusual then he was used to. Leaning closer to her, he whispered in her ear. "We will talk." He ordered. But with that he did not push the issue further only giving Wynn a slight nudging and a death glare that left her no room to fool around like the others had. This event was turning on its side. If they just got through the introductions the festivties could begin with food and later with dance. Perhaps a bit of introductions for the gentlemen... though he might do his own personal assesment when mingling. For now he only waited.

The blue haired Feli had looked up at the princesses for a few more moments and then sighed before looking back to the table. There really didn't seem to be any obvious answers from what he saw, which meant that he probably was going to have to do some more research before he even knew which way was the right way to go. Even after that though, it was going to take a lot more than just knowing who he should pick. It was going to take acting in an appropriate way to win them over, and knowing how they thought. He blinked as he looked at the women for a few more moments though. He sighed softly and then his eyes were caught by the woman who he hadn't noticed before. He wondered if perhaps she had slipped in while he hadn't been paying attention. He stared at her for a few moments, she really was quite stunning, that was for sure.

Felix hadn't been given much time to think about it before he rose to his feet quickly at the mention of the king arriving. He knew enough to know to follow instructions. His blue eyes looked up at where the king would be seated and he let out a whisper of a breath. He really couldn't believe that he had a chance at winning any of these women, though the thought was at least amusing, he supposed. He waited until it seemed to be the appropriate time to sit down, which he had decided to do when he noticed that the people around him were beginning to sit, and did so himself, determined that he wouldn't make a fool of himself again. After that, the next step was an easy one, to simply sit back, and enjoy the speeches, since this would no doubt be the best way to figure out who it was that he should be focusing his attention on.

He raised an eyebrow and drank with the toasts that the king made, a little bit surprised by the comment that they would be getting more intimate with the princesses, but pressing their luck was something that was going to be greatly frowned upon. He sighed softly, that really had been obvious, and he wasn't sure why it was being mentioned, but it seemed to have set off at least a couple of the suitors. He wasn't entirely sure why. It wasn't like they were going to try and rush all of this or anything, that was why they had been given a year. He sighed softly and took a hold of his drink, slowly bringing it back to his lips to gently sip from it.

He smiled softly as he watched as the introductions were made. He smiled softly as he listened to what he was being told. It looked like he had called it wrong when he had placed the princess in the white dress as the oldest, but at least he had been close. The fact that the girl in the interesting looking dress was the oldest was a little bit disappointing though. He had thought that she'd be interesting to hang around with, and perhaps might make for a good choice that wouldn't give him any terrible responsibilities, like being king. He sighed and looked up at them for a few more moments. Well, he would have liked it if she had been one of his choice females, but one couldn't win every fight.

He smiled softly as the next introduction brought that topic to light even more. It seemed that the woman that he had placed as the oldest was some sort of fighter. He sighed softly. There was limited chance that he was going to be able to go up against that either, especially since fighting was a thought puzzle all its own. Since he didn't know how to deal with her out of combat, he would have no idea how to deal with her in it, especially since he didn't even know if he was trying to win or not in that sort of battle, since it would look rather bad if he beat the woman and disgraced her. Perhaps he would get points even for bothering to try, but he doubted it, since he was quite sure that the other males would be rushing to that too, just to try and assert their manliness over the 'weak little woman'. He sighed softly and then turned his attention to the king who seemed to have a devious look in his eyes. Well, that was just perfect, it looked like there was more planning going on than most people realized.

Felix blinked when finally it came time for the princess who had caught his eye earlier to make her introduction. He smiled softly and watched her for a moment as she stood up and started her bit. He chuckled softly when she finished her introduction, which had started the other princesses into action to defend her. His smile remained on his lips as he brought his hand up to hold his chin before whispering softly, "Ah...this truly is fun." He turned his head to the suitor who had mentioned that he had decided that Almathea was the one that he was interested. That really was a pity, since it had only taken Felix a few moments to be able to read what she was saying. It meant that she had already chosen. He sighed softly. It looked like his last hope would rest on the princess who was the fan of sweets. It would probably be relatively easy for him to sway her, since the key there seemed to be in the sweets, and he could probably get enough of those to at least make her happy, it was probably going to be more difficult than he originally though though. At least this would be entertaining, as long as this continued like this.

Kali hadn’t meant to fall asleep. She had just sat down on the edge of the bed to rest her feet. She swore she heard Tagor’s voice though, or was it just a dream? Regardless, Kali was awakened with a wet tongue in her face. Coughing and sputtering she pushed up onto her rump.

“Ugh!” Kali hissed lightly, rubbing her cheek, which was wet with dog slobber. Blinking those deep red eyes she peered curiously at the only window in her small room. It took her a moment or two to realize just how late it was. She couldn’t help but feel like some nameless white bunny running around “I’m late! I’m late!” as she hastily disrobed from her frilly maid outfit and into something more tasteful. Far from exquisite or revealing, it was a simple dress that had been a gift from Kali’s father for her eighteenth birthday. It was to be worn only on special occasions and thus far Kali had only worn it a handful of times. Quickly she slid into the dress and into a pair of modest shoes that fit her outfit. She checked herself in the mirror, having only enough time to fix her hair slightly before she hurried off through the near empty hallways. Hopefully no one would notice her tardiness…

It didn't take long for Alexander to notice the King looking in his direction, but it did take him several seconds afterwards to realize it was himself which the proud father had been fixated upon. He couldn't even only fathom a guess as to why, until Ramos stood and moved beside the two older daughters, patting them on the head and returning his focus toward the young feli. The realization steadily came to him as he felt a light shiver racing through his body, making his tail stiffen in alert as he began to put things together while assuming the worst case scenario.

Had either or both of the girls gone to him about what happened around the apple trees earlier? True, he'd joked earlier about them cutting off his head, but he wasn't very enthused about the idea of it ending up on a mantle hanging over the royal fireplace. The only thing which seemed to suggest different intentions were the reactions on both Cameron and Minx's face, which gave him the impression they were almost as in the dark about their fathers intentions as himself. He started to fidget slightly, in either case, over the fact that the King had taken a direct interest in himself.

Alexander let out a quick sigh of relief when King Ramos began to shift his focus toward introducing the younger half of his four daughters, yet remained apprehensive over the many why's and what's which were lingering in the back of his mind. Still, like many others that were in attendance, whatever thoughts were going through his head suddenly dispersed at the older feli reached into his youngest daughters top. He didn't know if he should have felt relieved or concerned when it turned out he'd reached in due to sweets which were stashed in the girls clothing. Seemed there hadn't been anybody in this family that came close to resembling normalcy.

When it came Almathea's turn to speak, he propped his head up on a hand while resting an elbow against the table, idly watching while wondering what oddities this one had been hiding underneath her pretty package. When she came around to basically telling all of the suitors to go and take a flying leap, he quickly found that same hand he'd been resting his head against clamping itself over his mouth.

Stifling the sudden laugh which nearly erupted from between his lips, Alexander lowered his head to try and keep from drawing attention to himself. However, he also couldn't help but move his free hand up and down against the table while in a clenched fist, mimicking a hammering motion against the surface but not hitting hard enough to actually make any noise. Okay, so far this one didn't appear to have been that bad, although she looked more like a kid sister then actual relationship material to himself.

The male feli remained chuckling to himself by the time Cameron spoke up to work damage control, trying to keep from breaking out into near laughter again as he listened to her explaining away the younger siblings words. Much as a pain as he may have thought her to have been, he had to give the girl credit for trying to protect her little sister. She seemed to have a habit of doing this whenever she spotted one of them in or near any type of trouble. So, that was one quality about the girls personality which he could admit at finding respect and admiration toward.

Upon having fully regained his composure, he noted King Ramos taking the opportunity to whisper something at the second youngest of his daughters, likely scolding the girl or making promise of a lecture at a later time. Knowing all too well the type of consequences which can come from showing such qualities during these functions, he picked up his glass and raised it slightly in a private toast of sorts toward the girls boldness.

"Here's to brutal honesty and all of the mixed blessings which come with it." He whispered to nobody in particular before taking a sip out of his glass, eyes locked onto the royal family for whatever else may come as they awaited the youngest to give her introduction.

Vincent picked up his drink after his two fellow suitors had said their fill "ill drink to that" he sipped his own drink rather deeply and held it in his hand, expecting that he would be wanting some more by the time the last kitty on stage had messed with them on her own level, so far it seemed the only receptive one was her, and that was only because she hadn’t told them she wasn’t yet, but if her sisters were any indication.... well the king seamed to like him, who knows, stranger things have happened.

"Speaking of brutality Alex, what did you do to get minx and Cameron so pissed at you? I noticed them staring daggers at you eariler" he hadn’t said anything about the looks they had both given the boy at first, but when the king joined in, well then he was interested "you didn’t pick their favorite flower or something did you" he sipped his drink and leaned in to talk "no, let me guess, you stole an apple?" Vincent chuckled when he remembered the kings words when he was berating Minx, he couldn’t remember the specifics, but he remembered it involved apple trees… but he couldn’t help but wonder how Michel knew.

Michel knew that he was right when Vincent chuckled “oh your screwed as far as minx is concerned my friend” ’one less I have to stop’ he thought to himself. He remembered his sisters love for the red ones, or their juice anyway, so he could see her going off at him for it, especially coupled with the fact that he was here at all.

Wynn tittered with laughter once again as father's commenting on her sisters led to a warning of Almathea's wanderings, only for it to abruptly halt as his fingers dived into the hemline of her top, a squeek rising in her throat as her beloved treats were unmasked, the mischieviously evil look in her father's good eye making Wynn feel smaller than a flea. "Daddy, wait, I can explain-!," She started, a reddened flush filtering across her cheeks. Her ears fell back a bit as he quipped on her weight, her own finger jabbing at her belly. Was it bigger...? No, of course it wasn't... Daddy was just being mean.

But... her dress had felt weird...

Her lip jutted out, she continued prodding her own gut as her Almathea presented her introduction, almost oblivious to what was being said- Until her sister's comment to her suitors.

Wynn's self-inflicted critique was a distant memory, her jaw dropping slightly before giggling once again. "Oooh, Alma's got a riddle! Good luck on THAT one, boys!"

Still, she noted that each of her sisters had issued a sort of challenge to these men; whether verbal like Almathea's, or with the inflected dares and tauntings of Minx and Cameron. Father didn't seem too upset by these challenges; at least, not that he had voiced yet anyway... Perhaps Wynn needed to enstate one of her own.

Finding it to now be her own time in the spotlight, the feli princess stepped forward, pushing the remainder of the caramel candy in her mouth into the pocket of her cheek. "My name is Wynifred, but I prefer to be known as Wynn. I'm the youngest of my sisters, which means that marrying me would make your chances at the crown pretty slim... So if that's the reason you're here, you would have far better luck stalking on Minx."

She paused a moment, the caramel now having lodged itself against one of her fangs. As she popped it free, she glanced over to see the slightly appalled look on her mother's face. What? She had spoken honestly. Minx was the far more obvious choice for crownhunters; not her. "I have an affinity for sweets, as my father has said. That much is true. However, I don't feel I'm as gluttonous as my father makes me out to be. I only enjoy being happy and taking part in the joys in life. If that's something you're truly here for, perhaps we have something in common. But for the arrogant, selfish ones among you.... I'm sure I mean nothing to you, and I can promise you this; I feel the same towards you."

Feeling quite proud of herself, Wynn flopped back into her chair, smirking at her sisters before swallowing what remained of her caramel.

Ramos (some Minx)

King Ramos sighed throwing his hands up as he reached for his wine. He downed the contents within seconds and was rewarded with a refill by a maid who had been standing by. He simply gave up. What was the point of even trying to warn the girls, they always found ways around anything he dished out. Part of him was impressed, proud even, but another part was worried. Would the girls truly stand by their decision not to marry? Would he be stuck with them for the rest of his life? Would he ever get to soil his oats with the queen on a deserted island? Like hell he wouldn't... he'd be damned if his dreams of wreckless abandon with the queen were spoiled. He'd have his damn day!

His eye twitched visibly as he stood to his feet abruptly brandishing a fist in the air while making a rather uncharacteristic pose. He then realized he'd been in deep though and coughed to compose himself as he unclipped his cape allowing it to drape over his chair. With a deep sigh he looked out to the crowd, his single eye trained on many of them. He could feel it, almost taste it. Out there, were four suitors who maybe didn't even know it themselves but would definately bring these girls to their knees. His major concern as a father was the girls' safety and true happiness. He didn't want to give any of his daughters over to some ungrateful wretch. Not if he was only after fame and fortune. That he knew wouldn't be the case, Minx was the oldest and she wouldn't so easily hand over the throne without a fight. Ramos was thankful for that but at the same time her crazy schemes could very well drive away the perfect man for the job. He only hoped her good judgement wouldn't get in the way of that. Though he was more concerned over the guy's reason behind marrying Minx. If he only wanted the throne then by all means he'd help the girl be rid of him any way possible. But if for some reason he actually liked her devious ways he had to wonder what kind of death wish he was after. A slight smirk came to his lips. At least it there'd never be a boring day with Minx as one's wife.

His thoughs shifted to Cameron, whom he was very protective over. Being the first born of his second litter gave him great concern. It seemed she took a lot of the responsibility that Minx neglected. He noticed it a lot more over the years, where the oldest simply shirked her royal duties, Cameron tended to take up where the slack remaind. It wasn't fair to her but at the same time that's probably where he went wrong. Minx should have been training with the guards, taking horseback lessons, archery and everything that came with a well balanced protector of the kingdom. Most all queens-in-training should have ample knowlege of potential threats to their kingdom. If a king had to go off to war then she was left to defend the castle and everyone looked to the queen during those times. Ramos wondered where the switch off had occured. When did Minx hand over the reigns which she herself should be holding? And now her sister was more of a tomboy then he had liked. Going so far as to wear men's clothing... he sighed.

Still trapped in though he turned his attention to the younger two. Almathea was the splitting image of her mother, sweet, gentle and well balanced in every way. It stopped there, however, her personality seemed to reflect his own and she had taken on some unbecoming traits from her sisters. He had watched her over the years, ever so often she'd slip out of the lime light, remaining silent and unattached to the antics taking place. It was almost as if Alma were just going along for the ride. He had to admit her random outburst earlier had been quite a surprise, never had he expected that. But it definately renewed his admiration of her. There were so many secrets that lay behind the calm physique that Almathea potrayed; he wondered if she had some devious schemes of her own or perhaps something else? Only time would tell with her. He just hoped she wouldn't run off to skirt the events taking place here. He'd hate to have pushed any of the girls into denouncing their birth right... that had happened once already. And even to this day he was still miffed over that boy's stubborness.

And then it all came down to the sweet tooth. It was like she had grown into a woman but still maintained the mindset of a child. He knew better, however, Wynn was no child. In mind or body but there were plenty of suitors out there that would try to exploit that fact. He snorted at the idea. If they so much as laid a hand on her without her consent he'd have the gallows waiting on the other end and string them by their tails... the thought made him chuckled as his single ruby eye scanned the sea of potentials. While he wanted what was best for his girls he realized suddenly just how grandiose this event had turned out to be. Damn... I just sent an open invitation for a bunch of guys I barely know to court my girls... The pale look on his face was picked up by the queen who snickered lightly into a handkerchief. He grumbled something under his breath but didn't push further with his ideas. What's done is done. He would see this through, just be certain security was ten times as tight as before.

"With introductions complete let us all enjoy the festivities. We have food carts with prepared dishes for all to sample. If you have a specific meal in mind, please have one of the servants know and they will be sure to convey this to the chef. Please feel free to use the dance floor and in fact, I encourage you all to dance with my girls. You need only ask..." He gave the girls a quick glance leaving no room to argue. Though he knew that some if not all would find one reason or another why they couldn't dance. With that much said he rose his glass once more for a drink then took his seat.

Carts were rolled in shortly after with food on them. To which servants began their duties; taking special orders, refilling drinks or simply allowing for the guests to sample what had already been prepared for the meal.

*** Minx ***

Already a few suitors made a B-line to ask for a dance from Minx who declined straight away. She was hungry and all that talking had given her good reason to be. "Gentleman, please, there's plenty of time for dancing. Why not take your seats and eat first. It's rather annoying when striking up a conversation over dance when one's stomach is saying more than its owner." She pointed out sweeter than her personality allowed. Some of them spluttered with apologizies while others simply walked away to save face. Minx simply shook her head turning to Cameron with a frown. "This sucks! I want to go." She hissed hoping their father didn't hear. "It wasn't bad enough to just introduce ourselves now we have to dance with them!" She pouted, as her plate of food had been placed in front of her with a refill of apple cidar. Rather than eat like she had planned to do she simply poked at her grilled fish; her appetite slowly declining.

Alexander listened to the pair of suitors as they asked about the older Princesses apparent animosity toward him, both of them pretty much putting the reasons together before he could answer the question. Which left him questioning how they knew about it in the first place, especially with Clayford, who seemed to speak as if he knew Minx on an almost personal level. Then again, The King himself was apparently aware of what happened, so they could have picked up on it from whichever rumor mill brought the incident to his attention. Still didn't fully explain Clayford's response, but he imagined it simply had to do with them coming together at a past social event similar to this one.

"You've pretty much hit the nail on the head." He finally spoke up while staring at them both, once again resting his head lazily against an opened palm while elaborating, "I'd taken an apple out of a nearby tree and the next thing I know I'm being threatened with time in the dungeon by Minx up there. Then a few heated words were exchanged between us and Cameron....well, let's just say I'm not expecting any love letters from either of the girls in the near future."

The feli let out a short snicker before turning his direct attention specifically toward Clayford, deciding to query him about his earlier knowledge concerning the oldest of the siblings, "Have you met any of the girls before? The way you spoke of Minx, it almost seems like you've been familiar with her or another close to her in the past."

Before the young feli could answer Alexander's question, their attention shifted back toward the royal family, listening in on the youngest of the four as she took her turn at introducing herself to the suitors. Like her sister before her, she seemed to speak from the heart and gave an honest reaction to this entire competition, only not as middle finger to the crowd about it. He cocked an eyebrow when she mentioned arrogant and selfish suitors among them, making him wonder if that was a jab toward his earlier actions, but also figuring he's simply starting to grow a little paranoid by now.

"Four girls, not one of which I really see anything happening with in the coming year." He admitted freely to the two males he'd been speaking with only minutes ago, scratching behind his ear while dividing his focus between them and the family, "The younger two don't seem that bad, just aren't really my type. And the older sisters probably wouldn't touch me to scratch me."

Tapping his fingers against the table for a second, he picked up his glass and took a final sip out of the remaining contents after noting with a small smirk, "But at least the apples and drink around here are pretty tasty. Gives me something to look forward toward."

Putting the empty glass aside, he leaned back in his chair with his tail idly swinging from one side to the other, his focus moving on toward the King as he began to speak up again. Alexander let out a light scoff at the idea of asking any of the girls to dance, but figured he should have seen the offer coming, considering the type of competition this had been. Still, at least the idea of getting some food in his belly without having to worry about prison time had more then it's share of appeal, and he'd already barely been able to enjoy his previous drink thanks to choking much of it down earlier.

After the servants came out with the carts, he signaled toward one which approached them for a refill, having a feeling he'd require another glass or two in order to get through the night. As his glass was being filled back up, he noted the number of suitors already starting to make their way toward the girls, giving a roll of his eyes at the ones who approached Minx in particular. Being the oldest made her an obvious target for anyone here looking for power, but he couldn't keep from thinking to himself that the price one would have to pay wasn't worth it. The wrong type of guy would end up a ruler and a prisoner with that girl.

His eyes then wandered over to her side and upon the second oldest of the girls. He couldn't tell if anyone had approached her as of yet, but could only imagine what response they'd receive from the tomboy Princess. Part of him had been tempted to sneak up and ask her for a dance, just to see the look on her face when she realized who was asking. And she did appear rather attractive in that dress, he'd come to admit, but also knew all too well the type of pain in the neck there was underneath the pretty package. Either way, it could damage their verbal agreement if he started approaching her about a dance, even as part of a joke.

"Thanks." He said in appreciation to the servant whom refilled his glass, taking a quick sip while eyeing the nearest food cart for a second, then turning toward the two suitors he'd been exchanging words with throughout the evening, "So, you guys planning to ask any of the ladies for a dance or are you going to stick it out over here like me?"

The second eldest daughter placed her hand upon her forehead, rubbing gently but she almost chuckled at the bold moves her sisters had made. Surely they knew they would be receiving some srt of punishments by their father but nevertheless, they became bold and expressed their full objection to this idea. She, herself, never wanted to be involved in this, and yet their father just only informed them this morning and then suddenly this large flood of suitors had arrived the same day. Just like Minx had mentioned, it was certain their father had planned this far earlier and never told them until only today. Their father was known to be rather cunning anywho.

Cameron's tail stiffened and she almost want to send a scowl right back at their father. His four daughters already had to introduce themselves, acting all sweet though they did deliver a soft and subtle warning to the sea of suitors that perhaps they weren't interested in marriage the first place. And now, their father was giving an invitation to allow the interested suitors to have a dance with each daughters. She saw his glance and it was an indication that her along with her sisters did not have a chance to argue, though it did not mean the daughters couldn't find a reason to decline the offer of a dance from any suitors.

Her eldest sister began to speak to her, and she leaned closer to listen Minx softly hissing. She nodded her head gently, taking a glance towards their father and she whispered back, "I know what you mean, Sis.. Though.. I have to say, I'm rather afraid of what Father might be planning.." She paused to take a careful glance towards the King before moving closer to Minx and continued to whisper. "Did you noticed Father was looking towards a particular someone among the suitors? I think.. he noticed we were glaring at the rude jerk or better known as the apple thief.." Cameron trailed off when her plate of food was placed in front of her and she gave a gentle nod of thanks toards the servant who had served the food and who had refilled her glass of shandy.

"Do you think Father knows what happened earlier? I can't erase this sinking feeling that our Father might push us to have a dance with that smart-mouth jerk.." Cameron hissed softly, she kept glancing at their Father to make sure their Father didn't hear what she had mentioned to Minx. When she had finished whispering to her sister, she realized that there were a few of suitors crowding around in front of her and they all were interested in having a dance with her.

Her left eyebrow twitched gently but she kept that deceivingly sweet smile plastered upon her lips, "I apologize, gentlemen.. But please allow me to have my stomach filled with some food before I would proceed to the dance floor.." She gave a quick excuse and she heaved out a sigh of relief when the suitors left her after hearing her excuse. Cameron was fully aware that sooner or later, their Father would force them to have a dance with one suitor and she almost dreaded the thought. When the suitors had finally left, she proceed to her food and she picked up her fork but unlike her eldest sister, she started with her food and she slowly ate her plate of food. She knew she would need all the nutritions she can received if she ever wanted to fight off all the suitors who would be coming her way.

Felix had smiled as his attention remained on the front of the room where the princesses were. It had been hard not to listen to the discussion that the other suitors had been having about the eldest two siblings and how they seemed to have a distaste for one of the suitors, but that was just the way it was, and he supposed he wasn't too surprised. They did seem to be the least likely of the two to allow themselves to be swept away.

His smile remained on his lips when Wynn had taken the stage and had made her introduction. It was clear from her appearance that she wasn't as gluttonous as her father had been making her out to be. He shrugged softly and watched her, and then smiled widely when she pointed out that people who would be taking aim at the crown should focus their attention on Minx. Well, he already knew that, and really had no interest in focusing his attention on her, other than possibly because of that devious and scheming personality she had. At the same time, the intellectual Almathea seemed to be interesting for much the same reason. It was always good to have someone who would keep you on your toes mentally, but he wasn't sure that either of the girls would take that statement as a compliment, so he decided not to really mention it. As for the second eldest, well, she seemed to be a combat genius, and while Felix was sure that the rule about opposites attracting might help him out with that one, he was also fairly certain that if he challenged her in some attempt to court her, he would no doubt find himself in a great deal of pain.

He sighed softly. It meant that the best choices for him were the youngest two, because of his preference to survive the whole event, and to not become king at the end of it. He sighed softly as he looked at his decision for a moment. If it hadn't been for the fact that he was fairly certain that the key tone to Almathea's riddle had been that she had already made her choice, and he suitor already knew the answer, then he would have picked her for someone who's wit would keep him on edge, but there was no way that she was going to open her heart to another suitor if she had already accepted one, no matter how romantic, or amazing he ended up being, which he doubted he would be able to pull off. He finally turned his eyes to Wynn. Well, luckily for him, he wasn't arrogant, or selfish. He already knew that he probably wasn't good enough for any of these girls, and had no intention of taking the position of king. He wondered for a moment if he should just focus all of his attention on Wynn, but he did know that she was the youngest. For all he knew she would view him as an old man, but then again, they really hadn't mentioned their ages. He sighed, a true woman would never tell.

He listened as the king made his final speech about how the feast was about to begin, and he invited everyone to flock to the dance floor. Well...that was an interesting choice of events. He brought up his hand and ran his fingers down his face. He had already shown how ungraceful he could be when he had stumbled into the place. With someone as devious and closed as Minx up there, he could imagine that she'd make him dance just so that she could make a fool out of him. He sighed softly. Well, that was the life. He let out a slow sigh and shrugged before looking over to the carts of food that were coming in. He really hadn't eaten anything in a while, so he supposed that it would be best to get some food quickly. He turned his attention back to the girls who were already being swarmed by suitors who were asking for dances. He chuckled softly, knowing that the girls would still be there after a dance, but the food would no longer be there when someone picked it.

He looked over to the young Feli, Alex. He smiled softly at his question and then shrugged softly, "A dance might not be so bad, but the only princess who I can imagine would accept it from any of us, would be Wynn. The others all seem to be pretty closed off to the whole idea of this event." He smiled softly and shrugged before bringing his hand up to gently scratch at his chin, "It is a pity that Minx is the eldest though. I'd chase after her if it wasn't for the fact that I have no desire at all to be king." He smiled softly at Alex, knowing that he wouldn't understand it based upon his comments earlier, "You can say what you like, but with a wife like that, there would never be a dull day." He chuckled and then pushed himself up and headed towards the food carts to get a meal, wondering if he should perhaps tip the servers, or if something like that might not be appropriate here.

Minx had a different format for dealing with the suitors. While, Cameron ate for the sake of strength, Minx did not eat for the sake of weakness. One could not possibly dance all night if they had no strength to stand, now could they? She almost chuckled out loud at the idea but kept to making small bites of her food just for the sake of looking as if she'd eaten.

Her sister had hit a point in their whispered conversation knowing for certain their father would definately have a plan up his sleeve. The fact that he had spotted that apple thief among the crowd of suitors was one indication. The only questioned remained: what did he have up his sleeve? For now it was best they kept their wits about them least they be caught completely off guard. "Let's just keep an eye on daddy for now. I just know he's going to do something to embarass us in front of all these people. If I have to chain him down myself I will. There's not telling what he's up to... but for starters I think I'll rile him up just a bit to get a head start on our pay-back. You never know when he'll strike." Minx informed; then turned toward the crowd.

"I believe I shall dance now, father." Minx annouced deciding she'd take the first step and as she stood to her feet she gave Cameron a hearty wink of an eye wiping dantily at the corners of her mouth. Minx was up to something once more and as she slowly made her way from the table to the floor she bypassed most of the suitors who looked eagerly for her to reach a hand out and take them to the floor. That of course was not to be, Minx had other things in mind. Namely getting back at her father for setting this whole thing up on such short notice. She knew one person that got under his skin more than any guy that was in this room tonight. And as she glided past the suitors, maids and even servants she stopped short of a guard, but not just any nameless face, she reached a hand out with a cocky smirk. "Tagor, would you please escort me in my first dance for the evening?" She knew he wouldn't deny her request, not in front of all these people. And even though this was to put on a show for her father, she hated to use Tagor in such a way that might cause more friction between the two then necessary. Knowing this she gave him an apologetic smile one that was genuine for her.

Ramos damn near choked on his wine. He was on his feet in seconds but a calming hand fell on his forearm as he looked down to find his queen looking up to him. She shook her head softly indicating her displeasure of causing a scene. Ramos glared his ruby eye at his eldest's back but the full fire of his displeasure was focused on Tagor head on. He slowly took his seat a growl reverberating off his chest but hidden by the music that played on the balcony above them. "I'm going to kill him." The queen could only chuckle. "This wasn't his idea, my king. You didn't think setting all this up months in advance, that it wouldn't backfire in some way did you?" Ramos turned to his queen then his daughter. "Fine but if he tries anything..." The warning lingered but Amelia ignored it. "Tagor is a fine man. He wouldn't do anything to harm any of the girls. So stop making such a big fuss. I don't even know why you hate him so much." Ramos looked away not even favoring his queen with an answer. That was something he did not wish to talk about.

"Typical" Tagor thought as he watched the kings introduction to his youngest daughter by practically shoving his hand down between the young princesses growing bosom.
That had certainly raised a few questions by everyone in the room, if not a few other things on certain guest.
At least it didn't last long as the king pulled the hidden sweets out and caused a few of the suitors to laugh lightly.

Listening to Wynn's greetings speech Tagor smirked. It was exactly what Tagor had expected her to do, following in the foot steps of her older sisters and making sure everyone was clear of her own standings to this whole thing.
Looking at the suitors reactions Tagor could see a few of the more snotty looking suitors look a bit aggravated now but otherwise kept silent of their opinions.

The sound of a door opening echoed through the ball room and Tagor glanced towards the door to see Kali entering just as the king started to announce the next part of tonights plans.

As the King spoke Tagor would smiled at the late Kali and he would nod to her in greetings letting her know that it was good of her to make it to the party before it had actually begun. At least now she wouldn't get into trouble by the head maid, but now he couldn't help bu to wonder where McCavity was that was given to her to care for.

The dance had started, and right away many of the suitors moved to try and dance with the princesses. The eldest of the daughters turned them away easily enough and Tagor expected the other two to do the same, holding off the suitors for as long as they could before their father forced them too.

Despite the daughters not wanting to dance a few of the other's, whom were attending the party as guest, took to the floor and began dancing to the music that echoed off of the walls that were crafted especially for this kind of event.
Even though the orchestra had been placed high above the ball room on the balcony, the sound created from the instruments vibrated across the marble walls and filled the rest of the ball room completely of the orchestrated music.

Tagor sighed then as he continued to lean lightly against that stone pillar and watch over everyone.
As a royal guard he wasn't permitted to eat or take part in such festivities, it was just something that came with the job and Tagor was expecting another slow and boring night.

This changed instantly though as his ears twitched and he spotted Minx stand from her seat and make her way over to one of the suitors tables.

"oh? had she finally decided to try dancing with one of the suitors?" Tagor thought. Then again with Minx she may have been plotting something that required an ill lucky suitor.

When she reached the side of the table many of the suitors looked hopeful, waiting for her to ask them to dance now, which seemed kind of comical to Tagor.

However she didn't ask any of them, paying them no heed as she moved closer to where he was standing which caused many of the suitors her father and even Tagor to give her a questioned look.

"Tagor, would you please escort me in my first dance for the evening?"

Tagor blinked in surprise and looked around the room quickly, noticing a few hateful stares and daggers being thrown his way by not only the suitors but the king himself.

His attention went back to Minx, where he saw her apologetic smile and at that moment he realized what she was doing and smiled back with a light nod of understanding.

"It would be my pleasure Princess Minx" He said while taking her gentle hand into his larger one.

Escorting Minx to the center of the ball room Tagor would start them off, swaying to the music and moving in step with the rest of the dancers. He was actually quiet good for a solider and moved confidently without the worry of the king getting in his way of actually enjoying the dance.

Perhapses this night wasn't going to be so bad after all. Tagor thought, and at least now he had found a way to piss off her father a little bit more.

Minx was not surprised by Tagor's knowledge of the ballroom. He glided across the floor smoothly taking her with him in fluid motion. So many times before had she done the same thing if only to get back at her father for whatever reason or another. Still she made the most of the event smiling up at Tagor as her steps fell in lead with his. It was easier to let her guard down with him, knowing Tagor was not out for the money, fame or power that came with being closely aquainted with her. Nine times out of ten it seemed he enjoyed her crazy schemes to rile their father. She could never truly tell, one thing Tagor was good at was hiding himself behind that stoic mask of guardianship.

"Thank you for dancing with me. I hope you're not upset... it's just that daddy has pushed way too many buttons and gone well beyond the norm." Minx informed softly as she spoke during their dance. They slipped across the floor making sure to glide past her father a few times just to get under his skin. "I know using you like this isn't fair but he pisses me off sometimes. Besides doesn't he annoy you too?" It was no secret that Tagor had an unpleasant annoyance with the king but no one seemed to know the true details behind it. Why did her father dislike Tagor so much? And if that was the case why assign him with watching over the girls? "I don't mean to pry but can I ask why daddy has such a strong disliking for you? Did something happen in the past that he hasn't forgiven you for. Maybe there's a way for you two to talk. It's not healthy for the king and his knight to have such bad blood." This was a genuine side to Minx, concern for the greater good of the kingdom. Desipite her crazy schemes she always thought of the kingdom and her family first.

The music began to slow in tempo alluding to the end soon. Minx smiled upon Tagor giving her father an extra reason to fidget in his seat as she leaned her head against Tagor's chest. "Well at any rate it was nice dancing with you again. We hadn't done that since I was little. I forgot how good you were. You'll definately sweep some girl off her feet one day." She chuckled using the moment to put off both suitors and parental figure. This was not her idea to be here but if her father felt it was his duty to force his intentions on her then she'd definately use those intentions to her advantage.

"Thank you for dancing with me. I hope you're not upset... it's just that daddy has pushed way too many buttons and gone well beyond the norm."

"heh not to worry I'm not upset..this party is actully pretty dull with all these suites around." Tagor said while swinging Minx around and along the length of his arm in time with the music. He was actually enjoying the dance, especially since both of them where quite good at it.

"I'll have to agree with you, your father is kind of overdoing it with these events. He seems fully intent on having you and your sisters wed before the year is up."
The next part of the song had them part ways for a moment only to have their backs placed against one another while they rotated around the dance floor in a waltz type motion.

"I know using you like this isn't fair but he pisses me off sometimes. Besides doesn't he annoy you too?"

"Yeah..he annoys me to know end." Tagor said almost more to himself then to Minx as the song brought them back to their returned position, just in front of the eyes of her father and siblings. Tagor could see the that King Ramos's was glaring at the two of them with his one good eye, a silent fire burning deep within it that ruby eye dareing him to try anything funny with his daughter.

Tagor couldn't help but to smirk lightly, the prospect of annoying King Ramos along with her daughter made the dance that much more fun.

"I don't mean to pry but can I ask why daddy has such a strong disliking for you? Did something happen in the past that he hasn't forgiven you for. Maybe there's a way for you two to talk. It's not healthy for the king and his knight to have such bad blood."

Tagor grew silent for a moment then, only dancing in step with the melody of the music. He seemed to be recalling something deep within the recesses of his memories. "it's just something that happened a really long time ago...it's really not all that important anymore." Tagor finally said as the song finally started to slow to mark it's end.

As the song started to end Tagor felt Minx placed her head upon his chest and the warmth of her body could be felt against his own as they danced even closer togeather. Her scent also came flooding upwards, a scent that Tagor had grown used to and privately enjoyed whenever he was around her. Due to the ball he could detect something else mixed along with her scent and he could only guess that it was some type of new perfume she was trying out. Strangely enough though... it reminded Tagor of catnip?

"Well at any rate it was nice dancing with you again. We hadn't done that since I was little. I forgot how good you were. You'll definitely sweep some girl off her feet one day."

Tagor smiled back to her chuckle and nodded lightly as the music finally ended and a few of the other dancers moved back to their seats for a break.

Just as Minx was about to head back as well, Tagor gently took her hand into his own and gently placed a warm kiss upon it.

"You've improved a lot yourself Minx, and it was an honor to be able to dance with you again like we used to. I also know that when the time is right you'll find your desired mate and make him into your king, while you yourself will make a most excellent and beautiful bride and queen."

With that said and the next song just about to start, Tagor bowed lightly to Minx as any royal guard would and moved off the dance floor.

"Four girls, not one of which I really see anything happening with in the coming year." "The younger two don't seem that bad, just aren't really my type. And the older sisters probably wouldn't touch me to scratch me."

Thank god was all Michel was thinking at that point, one less he would have to shoo away before he was found out, he was going to need some help if he wanted to do some lasting damage to these guys, and there was only one logical choice as far as he was concerned.

"But at least the apples and drink around here are pretty tasty. Gives me something to look forward toward."

“I saw those trees in the gardens, they do look nice, almost took one myself, good thing I didn’t though huh?” Vincent joked, trying to be polite while his mind was completely occupied by staring over at the girls, they were very attractive by anyone’s standards, and although it didn’t seem as bad as Alex’s problems with the princess, Vincent didn’t know which one of them he would prefer either, all of them sounded complicated to say the least.

He sipped his drink and engrossed himself in thought as Alex was getting a refill, a few more drinks didn’t sound like a bad idea. Michel was still watching all the suitors, where there eyes were going, what he could hear them saying, every detail about their intentions being memorized, and Alex’s gaze at Cameron hadn’t gone unnoticed.

"So, you guys planning to ask any of the ladies for a dance or are you going to stick it out over here like me?"

“I think I might stretch my legs a little later if that’s what your asking” Michel said, running his finger over the rim of his glass, a tell that he was scheming to anyone who knew him, or anyone who paid enough attention to figure it out.

"A dance might not be so bad, but the only princess who I can imagine would accept it from any of us, would be Wynn. The others all seem to be pretty closed off to the whole idea of this event." "It is a pity that Minx is the eldest though. I'd chase after her if it wasn't for the fact that I have no desire at all to be king." "You can say what you like, but with a wife like that, there would never be a dull day."

Michel didn’t like the tone of that one as he talked about his sisters, but if he wasn’t in it for king then he couldn’t be that bad, could he? He had made up his mind about what he was going to do “its been lovely talking to you three, but I must be off” he quickly got up to his feet and easily disappeared in the crowd of suitors wanting a go at dancing with one of the princesses “well he’s determined” he was about to strike up the old ‘if you had to chose’ question, hoping that it would help his decision, but then Minx’s actions caught his eye “isn’t that Tagor guy a Guardian?” Vincent didn’t know what to think about it, there was clearly some animosity between he and the king, he had seen that earlier, was this why?

Michel was in the corner, stealthily watching Minx dance with the Guardian, it was obvious that one of the main reasons was to piss off the old man, but she really did look comfortable dancing with him, so he waited until the two were finished.

Michel wanted some back up he could trust while he messed with suitors and the rest of his family, Minx was clearly the most dedicated to avoiding the situation out of the four, she was cooperating more than Alma was, but she wasn’t the type to actively sabotage something the king wanted so badly, but he had never actually met her, so he could be wrong.

Something about Alma looked so familiar, maybe he had seen her somewhere, he had been in other kingdoms while his father had visited, perhaps he had just seen her in passing or he had played for some ball and seen her amongst the crowd. He dismissed it, he had work to do.

With an air of confidence around him he walked towards Minx just as she finished up with the guardian, speaking up to get he attention “I must say, that was quite a show you put on for everyone, might I suggest you dance to something… faster, if your trying to get under the kings skin” he held out his hand “care for another dance?”

Minx dipped low in her dress as Tagor kissed her hand. She smiled allowing a soft blush to tint her cheeks as she watched Tagor make his way off the floor. She lingered for a moment before remembering the events taking place and hurried to take her seat before another suitor tried to use the lull in music to dance with her. Of course someone had snuck up on her rather quickly. Probably waiting in the wings... she figured. It would have been so easy to tell him to just piss off, or maybe throw a tired line of her wanting to rest but something in how he presented himself caught her attention more than anything. Was he trying to help her? No that didnt' sound quite right they barely knew each other and here this stranger was offering to get under the king's skin.

It was no secret that Minx liked to give her father a run for his money. Still something in the way this suitor had said it peeked her curiousity. And once that was peeked everything else followed. "Fine. I'll bite." she offered reaching her hand out to place in his. "I'd like to try something faster... what did you have in mind?" She asked trying to push back the slightest sense of deja vu. "Since you know my name what is yours? I'd hate to have to call you, mister all this time."
