Tagor sighed lightly as he did his own part in the preparation of the royal ball,
and while the girls rushed off to pick out their beautiful dresses Tagor was checking up on the castles security for the upcoming party.
He wondered the castle halls alone, speaking to each of the inner castle guards as he moved from check point to check point, making sure that everything was in order and everyone was doing what they where suppose to be doing to insure the royal families safety and even for the safety of the potential suitors.
It was his job after all, and even though he despised the idea of allowing all these suitors into the castle and around the princesses Tagor had a sworn oath to follow and his sense of duty overrode any of his own personal feelings.
Continuing on in his inspection, Tagor passed through the servants quarters.
It was silent here now, since most of the servants had already gone to the ball to tend to the kings guests or to help in the kitchen.
Most of the doors were shut and locked up tightly however one of the doors caught Tagor's eye since it was opened slightly.
Moving over to the door Tagor peered inside and saw Kali, one of the many maids that worked within the castle fast asleep on the bed. Sighing Tagor pushed open the door and knocked on it loudly to wake her.
"If you sleep now your going to miss the ball mis Kali.." Tagor said simply.
"I doubt your head adviser would take that very lightly and I'd hate to see the girls favorite maid-hand get fired now because of tardiness." Tagor's ears twitched lightly then as he heard a small bark coming from his feet.
Looking down Tagor spotted Almathea's pet MaCavity as it stood up on it's high legs and barked for attention.
She must of left her pet in Kali's care. Tagor thought, knowing that Almathea only trusted a small handful of people to watch over her favorite pet.
Tagor then heard Kali's mumble something but, it seemed she was still a bit too drowsy from her sleep, if she was even awake to begin with.
Tagor then shut the door quietly, not exactly sure if Kali would attend the ball or not but at least now with the knowledge of MaCavity being there she had a reason not to.
He on the other hand wouldn't be so easily forgiven for not showing up, by both King Ramos and the princesses themselves.
After having done his rounds, Tagor made his way to his small room on the other side of the castle and changed into his royal uniform
The other guards attending the ball would also be wearing this, but Tagor's uniform would have a few more heroic badges on it since he seen far more battles then most of the guards here in the castle.
But looking at it in the mirror, as he prepared himself, made him frown.
"What a joke" He thought, as he buttoned up the last remaining button to his uniform. Balls and dances where made for rich nobles whom enjoyed flaunting off their richly trimmed outfits and doing nothing but talking pretty and sucking up to one another.

To a solider like himself it was rather dull and pointless.
Still, Tagor had to admit he was kind of looking forward to seeing what the princesses would look like in dresses. It had been ages since the last time they last did so but back then they were a lot younger and hadn't developed yet into fully grown feli.
After putting on a pair of white gloves that was all mandatory for guardians. Tagor started making his way towards the royal dinning hall.
Night had fallen over the courtyard now as Tagor made his way to the dinning hall, but he slowed in his foot steps as he spotted King Ramos stepping out of the his and the queens living quarters.
The King was dressed for the ball now, and looked to be in high spirits, the look changed however as he spotted Tagor and showed a frown that was similar to Tagor's own.
They shared an indifferent stare at one another for a moment with Tagors cold golden eyes looking into Ramos's only burning one.
The King then turned and started walking towards the ball room, before stopping for a moment as he spoke.
"Tonight, I'm expecting everything to run smoothly Tagor." King Romos said while his tail flicked back and forth in silent warning. He had the demeanor of a king giving orders to a lowly solider.
"Make sure nothing goes wrong while everyone enjoys the party and keep a special eye out for Minx and her childish antics"
Tagor frowned at that, he knew his job and what was expected, he didn't need the king to tell him this but he remained silent, only giving a light nod in understanding.
"Oh..and another thing...don't even think about trying to court with one of my daughters. Else you'll find yourself loosing more then just your rank next time." The King said before continuing down onto the ball room where he would be awaiting his signal to enter.
Tagor growled at the kings words, remaining where he was for a time in silent anger.
He had known the princesses since they were small and had practically grown up with them, and while he did care for them more then a normal royal guard should it wasn't much more then that.
Tagor knew he wouldn't be much of a mate for any of the girls, not when he was just a solider with hardly any noble background to support them, unlike the many noble suitors that were lining up for them and all hand chosen by their father.
The thought of Minx, Cameron, Almathea, Wynn being married off to some snobbish noble annoyed Tagor to no end and his tail swayed back and forth with much agitation.
The girls were certain to resists of course, and maybe even deny every suitor their father picked out for them, but even if that was the case the king was still going to have them marry through a forced marriage in the end and win.
The only upside to this setting was that perhapses not all the suitors where bad... and that the daughters could indeed find a suitable mate that they liked and could be happy with. It be even more fitting if the guy they chose annoyed the shit out of King Ramos.
Tagor smirked at that idea and hoped it would happened.
Hearing the king's introduction and toast Tagor decided to enter the ball room then with a sigh. It was going to be a long night.
