Hi everyone, I’m new here. I was wondering if you guys can let me know what you think and give me feedback, tips, ways to improve my writing. I started writing due to some relationship trauma. My therapist suggested that I should write about the good times and bad from my past. In essence a combo/form of journaling and writing a memoir. Anyhow, it’s evolved into me writing about some of my sexual experiences. Heck maybe fantasies down the road. It will make more sense if I start writing from the beginning of my sexual journey and probably easier to follow. But I didn’t, so timeline wise it may be a little scattered. I am open to feedback and critique.

Also, if I write multiple stories about the same woman or a series, how do I create chapters?

Here are my first submissions......

Hi,

Welcome to lit. I got started writing with a therapists recommendation. I've found it to be incredibly cathartic.

I read The Bodybuilder. It reads as a factual account more than a story.

More dialogue could help give characters more depth. When it's just narration the reader only hears your voice. What the characters have to say can tell a lot about who they are - what their thoughts and perspectives are without spelling everything out in dry detail.

When you used dialogue you used the play script style. It can work but you might want to look up "how to write dialogue in fiction*.

You could also provide more scenery - you can write about a character's thoughts as they enter a room, provide more clues about time and weather.

Avoid using exact measurements, descriptions of people can be more subtle and vague. Describe emotional impressions rather than physical specifications . Readers can fill in a lot of detail if you give them broad strokes they can relate to.

Have fun with your writing, Check out some authors who you like to read and analyze their style, see what it is about their writing that grabs you.

Submit the next chapter with the same Story Title, Ch.02

The site has software that joins it all up. You can add a Note to the Editor to flag it, but I think it's an automatic process (that sometimes goes wrong, but mostly goes right).

If you think you'll have more than 99 chapters (bad idea), start with Ch.002, so when the hundredth chapter gets posted, it all stays in the right order (it's an alpha-numeric sort on the title's text).

I tried to do this and its been 5 days plus on some stories and it's not working. Then when I post a new story in the series it gets sent back because I need to post the chapter 1 first but when I do that it still doesnt work.

I tried to story edit like the instructions said but a bunch of my stories are stuck in pending.

When I start a new series, check out my link the G&R series, it didnt work.

The process has been frustrating. Ive read a bunch of forum posts and FAQ's on what to do. Tried to contact someone at this link but haven't heard back yet.
