I'm completely new to Literotica as a member so I apologize if this is the wrong place to be posting this.

My question is this: Do some editors give feedback on content and style? If not, is there a place I can consult other authors to get their feel of the story?

I've drafted a first-person story about a girl whose family secretly practices incest which culminates in an annual ceremony steeped in ancient pagan rites. The family is affluent and well educated; the girl attends a prestigious university and is smart, independent and confident. There's a contrast between their modern values of gender equality and their religion which teaches women are to serve the sexual needs of the male family members. They are just like any other close, caring family, but they are bound by a sense of devotion to their secret religion and mostly happily practice it.

As suggested in my question, I'd appreciate some general feedback (thoughts, suggestions, stylistic issues, etc.). I'm not ready to submit right away so thorough grammar and spelling checks are not necessary. I want to do most of the writing, but I'm open to co-authorship. Any advice is much appreciated!

Jack,

Yes, you can find editors to give you all sorts of advice from many angles. As there are many styles of writing, and an equal number of ways to edit, find someone that enjoys your story for what it is, and is willing to fine tune it.

Do not choose an editor who tells you everything is wrong with your story, and wants to change it all around--that's not the editor for you.

I hope you find the editor your story needs. Your plot sounds like a good one.

What I find works for me is I specifically tell my editors what I want to hear from them. If I want to hear their feedback about my story and plot - I'll just ask for it. If not, I'll stick to grammar and spelling.
