I would hope that they are also using dogs to search for the children.
The lack of tracks in the area strongly suggests that the searches of the area will be unsuccessful. The most probable source of the problem is that the children were abducted by someone in a vehicle. Perhaps if the situation were explained in words of one syllable or less to the scumbags, said scumbags would begin questioning known sexual offenders in the area.
