In a video Straka posted about the events on Jan. 6, he claims that he saw "nothing being broken" and "nobody committing any acts of violence."

"I had no idea that there was any vandalism or violence or any of that stuff," Straka says in the video.

One of Straka's relatives later provided a video to the FBI showing him making his way to the entrance of the Capitol and egging people to go inside. The video has been deleted by Straka but reposted on YouTube.

"We're going in, we're going in," Straka says as he gets closer to the door. "Go, go." An officer tries to keep the crowd away by using a clear shield, which rioters pry away from him, forcing him into the angry mob, the video shows.

"Take it away from him," Straka says, according to the video and the affidavit. "Take it! Take it!"

Capitol Police arrested a man who attempted to force his way past a security checkpoint near the Capitol building at 10 a.m. on Thursday. The man tried to walk through a checkpoint at the intersection of Louisiana and New Jersey Avenues, NW despite police telling him that he wasn’t allowed through. He kept trying to barge past the officers and “actively resisted arrest,” Capitol Police said in a statement.

U.S. Capitol Police said he was charged with unlawful entry, two counts of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and felony destruction of property.

Dawn Bancroft and Diana Santos-Smith were arrested in Pennsylvania Friday after federal authorities received a tip about the "selfie" video, which appeared to be filmed by Bancroft, according to the criminal complaint. The video depicted Bancroft wearing a red “Make America Great Again” ski-cap style hat and Santos-Smith with a “Make America Great Again” baseball hat in the process of attempting to exit the U.S. Capitol building alongside a mob of other supporters of former President Donald Trump on Jan. 6.

“We broke into the Capitol … we got inside, we did our part,” Bancroft said in the video, according to the complaint. “We were looking for Nancy to shoot her in the friggin’ brain but we didn’t find her.”

When interviewed by the FBI around Inauguration Day, Santos-Smith initially told authorities she attended Trump’s rally but did not enter the Capitol building. When agents showed her Bancroft's "selfie" video, Santos-Smith admitted she lied.

Both women are facing charges, including knowingly entering and remaining in restricted buildings without lawful authority, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

The U.S. Justice Department is considering whether to charge members of far-right groups involved in the deadly Jan. 6 storming of the Capitol under a federal law usually used against organized crime, according to two law enforcement sources.

The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, known as RICO, enables prosecutors to combat certain ongoing racketeering crimes such as murder, kidnapping, bribery and money laundering. The 1970 statute provides for hefty criminal penalties including up to 20 years in prison and seizure of assets obtained illegally through a criminal enterprise.

Prosecutors have used it against other violent groups, such as one led by Omar Abdel Rahman, known as the “Blind Sheikh,” who was convicted of plotting to bomb the United Nations and George Washington Bridge in New York.
