A New York City judge’s son who referred to himself as a “caveman” eager to protest Donald Trump’s presidential election loss has pleaded guilty to storming the U.S. Capitol during the January 2021 insurrection. Aaron Mostofsky pleaded guilty to civil disorder, theft of government property, and entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds. Mostofsky is scheduled to be sentenced May 6. He faces 12 to 18 months in prison under federal sentencing guidelines. Mostofsky also agreed to pay $2,000 restitution. Mostofsky’s father is New York state court Judge Steven Mostofsky.

Derrick Evans filmed himself entering the Capitol just a few weeks after he was sworn in as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates. Evans was charged on Jan. 7, 2021, just one day after the Capitol attack, and resigned from state government days later.
“Derrick Evans is in the Capitol!” Evans said as he recorded himself on a livestream, according to the FBI. "We're taking this country back whether you like it or not."

He continued: "Today's a test run. We're taking this country back."

.
Who to believe; the Deplorables who actually declared they were storming the Capitol and who were clearly targeting Democrats, or the Deplorables who now say 1/6 was just a bunch of tourists.???

Tough call.

decorated, 75-year old vietnam war vet fined $500, given 3 months home detention, 36 months probation and 60 hours community service after guilty plea... caught on camera entering building, parading, tussling with Capitol Police officers. At least he had the grace to admit his wrongdoing and offer an apology to both court and country:
"I was caught up in something I truly regret," he said in the statement. "If I had a chance to redeem myself, I would certainly do that in a heartbeat. All I can do is sincerely apologize to my country and the court for my actions."

Blauser serves as the head of his local American Legion post in northwestern Pennsylvania, TribLIVE.com reported.

He received numerous ribbons and medals for his service, including a Purple Heart and Navy Commendation medal with Combat Valor, court documents show.

"As a former United States Navy service member, Blauser knew that one's disagreement with the actions of government officials does not bestow a right to enter restricted government buildings," US Attorney Matthew Graves wrote in the court documents.

THEY are the ones that should NOT get leniency at all.

Awards should be stripped and VA benefits revoked.

There seems to be no end of loud-mouthed, boastful, violent, terrorist rioters from January 6th -

Every week, another brainwashed MAGA goon is arrested.

RNC Riot

February 10, 2022,

A federal judge took aim at the Republican National Committee during a blistering
statement from the bench during a Capitol rioter's sentencing hearing on Thursday.

"It is not legitimate political discourse!"
- Judge Amy Berman Jackson

“The heated rhetoric that got you riled up and brought you to Washington, D.C.,
has not subsided,” Jackson said in her sentencing.

“Disinformation is not only available, it’s getting louder and louder every day."

"You weren’t the only person to fall for it or to embrace it, and some have embraced it
who don’t even believe it. The lie that the election was stolen and illegitimate is still
being perpetrated. Indeed, it is being amplified, not only on social media but on
mainstream news outlets, and worse, it’s become heresy for a member of the
former president’s party to say otherwise.”

Jackson added that the attack was “at the direction” of Trump himself.

“So, it needs to be crystal clear that it is not patriotism,” she said.

“It is not standing up for America."

"It is not ‘legitimate political discourse,’ and it is not justified to descend on the nation’s
Capitol at the direction of a disappointed candidate and disrupt the national process.”

A father and son team was convicted Wednesday for rushing a group of police officers guarding an entrance to the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, helping to allow the mob outside to flood in.
Daryl Johnson was sentenced to one month in jail as well as $4,000 in fines. Daniel Johnson, who has a criminal history and was the first of the two to enter the Capitol, was sentenced to four months behind bars and ordered to pay $2,000 for damage done to the building during the riot.

The entrance that the two helped clear, prosecutors said, was used by a large mob to breach the Capitol including a group from the right-wing militia organization the Oath Keepers, several members of which face seditious conspiracy charges for their actions around that day.

fed flag waver and father convicted in bench trial... they'd opted for that knowing (i'd imagine) it was to be presided over by a trump-appointed judge. didn't quite work out well for them
Kevin and Hunter Seefried, of Delaware, were both found guilty of five counts: obstruction of an official proceeding and aiding and abetting; entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly or disruptive conduct in a Capitol building or grounds; and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.

They will be sentenced in September.

On the most serious count, obstructing an official proceeding, they face a maximum of 20 years' in prison.

They chose to have a bench trial, presided over by U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, who was appointed by President Donald Trump.

Leslie Gray, 56, Traci Isaacs, 52, and her husband, Luis Hallon, face multiple charges. Gray and Isaacs face at least one felony.

Isaacs applied to join the Oath Keepers on Jan. 6 and solicited herself as a paramedic
Court documents allege Gray took video while inside the Capitol, which captured her yelling "traitor" repeatedly at nearby law enforcement officers.
"I am in Congress. This is our house. This is our house! … I don’t know what we are doing now but we are in here. We’ve taken it," Gray said

republican candidate for governor ryan kelley ordered to surrender his guns while awaiting trial on misdemeanor criminal charges related to the U.S. Capitol riot, a federal judge ruled Thursday.
Gary Springstead, a Fremont, Michigan, lawyer and former FBI agent representing Kelley, asked Meriweather to make an exception for Kelley to the firearm ban — which has been a standard condition of release for about 800 people charged in connection with the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021.

Kelley "is a bit of a high-profile candidate in Michigan," but his campaign has no paid security, Springstead said. Kelley has a concealed pistol license, and "he asked that he be permitted to carry his firearm for his own self-defense, during the campaign."

Assistant U.S. Attorney Frederick Yette objected to making an exception for Kelley, and the judge agreed.

"I do understand the concern," about self-defense, she said, but the court has to consider other factors, including the safety of pre-trial services officials who will need to visit Kelley's home, she said.

Kelley was also required to surrender his passport.

Justice Dept. grants delay to Proud Boys trial; DOJ lawyers oppose separate trials request

Proud Boys lawyers argued they need to hold off with the trial start date due to the jan 6th committee hearings which could influence a jury against them. Judge agrees to hold off till possibly December
The Justice Department agreed the defendants and their attorneys needed time to review witness transcripts from the select committee's hearings, which will last until next week, and DOJ lawyers said they didn't expect them to be released in full until September -- after the trial is currently scheduled to begin.

DOJ lawyers also restated their opposition to allow the Proud Boys to be tried separately for seditious conspiracy.

"Interviews that the Select Committee conducted are not just potentially relevant to our overall criminal investigations, but are likely relevant to specific prosecutions," the Justice Department said.
not sure it's gonna work to the proud boys' benefit, somehow ;)
