FAWC You, Two!

Not going to happen. Damn it! I really love my story but it has become a much bigger beast than I intended and there is no way I will finish it. I stayed up so late trying to get it done last night, but it's still only halfway there. Boo.

Oh well, on the upside, I have a good start on my Nano novel for this year, I'll just take out some of the more graphic bits ... ;)

(and yes I know it's cheating if you use something you've already written, so sue me. I'll be using just the basic idea for the novel, not most of this story )

Actually I don't think it's cheating. I did something similar when I did NaNo a couple of years ago. I took something I'd started, worked with what was there but also changed a lot, and aimed for 50k words over what I already had. I figured it worked out.

Okay, so the Internet connection problem seems to be fixed. Just in time, it seems.

As of this posting, there's roughly fourteen hours until the end of the challenge.

I've received a few more stories, so it looks like we'll have a good showing once again. I anticipate a couple of others tonight as well.

Want to thank the several people here who sent me the e-mail, and Mr fawc did get back to me this afternoon as well.

Well I dodged helping move tonight and just settled down to write.

Got a pot of coffee brewing and just started my two hour "ass kicking" playlist full of Manson, Zombie, Metallica, Slipknot and a bunch of other nasty music.

Just cracked the knuckles, invited the muse in and now its time to put this bitch to bed.

Okay I'm done trying to convince myself, now let's see if I can walk my own talk.

This is going to go down to the wire!!

I've never had a story come this close to a deadline. Yes, still writing furiously.

As long as you don't count the words you already have, it isn't cheating. The rules/guidelines for Camp NaNo are even looser than for the November NaNo. :)

As for FAWC You, Two . . . I'm ready to see what the next one will be.

Taking a minute to make another cup of coffee and to fix all the red my fast typing has left behind.

Getting a lot done and starting to think I'll finish.

Glad I'm est which will give me a little after midnight my time if I need it.

About three hours left . . . ;)

Oh where, oh where are those FAWCKer stories?
Oh where, oh where can they be? ;-) Don't like my singing? That's okay. I like the writing challenge and can hardly wait to read the entries.

This idea is what Lit should be about, but isn't. And that's a FAWCKing shame.

Got it. Thanks.

Logging off for the night. Tomorrow, I will be putting all the stories in the queue :D

Good thing it was midnight PST time. Just sent it out at 1:45

Seven straight hours of writing and editing and by the end I could barely see the words.

If this thing is even remotely coherent it will be a small victory.

Me too.

My God, I'm drained.

Me too.

My God, I'm drained.

When you were younger did you ever think there would come a point that when you said "I'm drained" at 2:30am it would be from writing a story?

A similar thought went through my head when I finally got myself settled down enough to sleep at 3am. I had been up since 5 for work and thought this was not what I would have considered all nighter back in the day.

I'm debating if I want to open up and read what I sent.

I guarantee if I do I'll be pissed because I can only imagine how many mistakes are in the back end of it which is literally raw without as much as a second pass.

But if I don't look I'm going to keep running it through my mind.

Glad I got it in, but wished I hadn't wasted the first few days working on something else.

Actually, yes. This sort of drained has always been much more likely in my life than being drained as a result of... well, anything else. I'm a very boring sort.

I've always been a nerd and always written, both for pleasure and for work. (I have notebooks of horrible writing dating back to eighth grade or something. ) This was way too much like submitting a paper last minute though, which I've done a whole lot especially in the past five years of my life.

Did that with my entry(s) last night. I got rushed on the last one due to my boss sending me out of town.

Both had flaws but not a bad as some I have posted. So... I'll just have to hope story can pull grammar up by the short hairs.

Also, I don't know why I was thinking that the stories would post last night at midnight. I had that in my head till Fawcker said he would start putting them into queue today. Had to apply a self 'Gibb' smack.

It is too damn early my car is in the shop and I've got to go walk to the gas station to get gas to cut the grass with. grumble, grumble, grumble.

"Poor sleepy-eyed, Dampy." Tucks her blanket back around her and goes to make her breakfast.

I found some stuff I wrote back in high school really shitty Lovecraftian type stories. I also still have 300 hand written pages of a sci fi adventure story that makes me cringe.

I was always a "hybrid." part nerd, part "bad element" I was a bad ass with tats and a Harley by eighteen, but would spend my nights playing chess, D&D and reading anything I could get my hands on. Then other nights play pool all night and get drunk as a skunk.

Now with the exception of the pool league I'm pretty much just a nerd.

What exactly does a writing marathon prove? I've done it for professional certification and for court ordered judicial reviews, but I don't get this marathon business.

Well, that took a little longer than I anticipated. But all the stories are in the queue. I include a note with each one explaining that each story is part of the FAWC. Hopefully, they will all post together, as they did for the first one.

A couple of things I want to mention. In the case of some of the stories, there was some fairly funky formatting going on. I did the best I could to mitigate some of it (such as taking out center alignments), but I am wondering if some of the formatting issues may cause problems when Laurel posts the stories. I suggest we all cross our fingers. ;)

Second, I just want to thank everyone for including tags and a description. That made the whole submission process much more efficient when compared to the first FAWC. There was only one hiccup, with a really long description that I had to parse down. Other than, it was mainly a matter of cut-and-paste.

Thank God this is done. :p

Think I'm gonna wait a while before hosting the next FAWC . . . .
