Submitted, not a category that I'm used to so no high hopes but just glad to get in the submission.
I think this line worked as it was vague enough with items that can have a lot of uses, enough at least to spur ideas. I know at least three genres of ideas went through my head before settling on the one I went with.

Yeah, I had a few differing ideas and ended up settling for one over the others. I thought about putting in the other one as well, but one's enough for me this time.

I had thought of writing a second one, but with the Nude Day contest going on I felt I would have been stretched too much. That and taking a trip later this month so that'll take a chunk out of my writing time for June.

I managed to inspire my wife somehow, and even she's working on a little tale with the same first line. Unfortunately, I don't think she's going to get it done. This weekend's a busy one, what with Little One's birthday tomorrow and a possible day trip down to the coast on Sunday.

I'm with you on the busy weekend, though. Parents are due later, so the house needs cleaning/straightening, etc. OTOH, parents are leaving after lunch tomorrow and PennGirl has a party tomorrow afternoon. So maybe I'll get to my other idea.

A busy weekend here, too. My son and his girlfriend closed on a house Friday morning. Demo began Friday afternoon. When I left there around six tonight, the carpet was gone from three of the four bedrooms (each one had a full set of furniture to take out first). The living room, dining room, and entry had the carpet, padding, and draperies stripped. The house (approximately one hundred years old) will have some walls moved and/or removed, new floors, new drywall and ceilings, a totally new and reconfigured bathroom and kitchen, a home office, and a gas fireplace instead of the wood stove . . . before they move in. After eight hours there today, I might never move again.
