Over the last year I've gotten some pretty interesting and/or amusing feedback from readers. Sometimes the feedback is better than the story.

I thought it might be interesting as a year-end endevour for authors to post some of their favorite feedbacks. I was just glancing through some of mine and came up with this gem:

In one of my stories (Death by Fucking) the female protagonists are identical twins. An enterprising reader got some pictures that reminded him of my heroines and sent them to me. I offered them to anyone who asked. Here is a response I got from someone who received those pictures:

One comment and I will close, and PLEASE don't take this as a negative, but if dee dee and Donna are identical twins, shouldn't there just be two different poses of Dee dee?? ( she is by far the most beautiful)

The catch was, of course, that the pictures were both of the same girl.

My only public comment on 'Bagged at the Opera' currently rated at 3.47:

"Anonymous in Sunnydale
I'm a married female in her 30's, currently on anti-depressants that made my sex drive go fron 55mph to maybe 5 at best. (With my husband using every trick in the book--so to speak--at once).
That was well written, imaginative, and sexy. Plus, I think someone just FLOORED the gas pedal to the metal. Thanks. I needed that. Writer? Try to publish! You can do it. "

Who said you can't please everyone?

Wonderful work, Ogg! Very well done. It is such a joy to make someone happy.

I got a couple of private feedbacks on various chapters of "Sweetness and Servitude" that simply read "MORE!!!" Those were nice proof that brevity is, indeed, the soul of wit. However, I think that my favorite PC was when Neonlyte called the Hesperus "heroic." Ahhh, that felt good. On the other hand, this was quite adorable for its sheer enthusiasm:

Feedback for Sweetness and Servitude
Yes, Yes, Oh hell yes. I love the slow build up to what I hope will be a mind blowing mutual climax when they finally consumate this marriage. I especially loved the idea of exposing both of them to the servants! Fuck, that was so hot.

Awww, it makes me all happy just reading it again.

Consistency?

On ‘Bed Mechanic’ rated 4.33:

"Not bad.

Not a bad effort at all from a male author who masquerades under a female name from time to time. I personally hate reading a story written by a man but from a female perspective but this is worthy of a 3 vote."

On ‘Who sent the card?’ Rated 4.13:

"Short, sweet read

Not really the type of story I come here for, but it was refreshing with a nice twist. Since it was short, I didn't miss the actual sex."

My favourite feedback

is on 'The Worst Chain Story Ever Ch.01'.

Only 4 items of Public Comment because this story was written before the Public Comment facility was added to Literotica.

I enjoyed writing that episode and I am still happy that the humour was appreciated. Some of the anonymous feedback was of the 'What the fuck is it? variety.

One of my ?friends translated the pirate section into Spanish and recited it in Madrid as an example of English humour.

I posted a 23 chapter story, Death by Fucking. Got the following feedback:

I've read "war and peace", a 723 page book and I thought this was longer

Range of Feedback.........

I am constantly amazed by the range of feedback you get, from pats on the back to the readers desired story lines for your continued story.

One I enjoyed:

Glorious!

There wasn't a single believable moment, nor a credible line of
dialogue, and yet it was the most cunt-wetting story I have ever read!

The images you created had my pussy throbbing and my hands seeking my
nipples as my eyes hungrily devoured the screen.

Wonderful and thanks for such an intense orgasm!

I've gotten feedback that was written in a languaged somewhere between English and Vella-ese that criticized me sharply for having the wrong two characters get together in my story. He/she then continued to complain for the ENTIRE series!

I do still have a soft spot for "DEATH TO ALL POOFS!" It's sort of cute, in a Python-ish way. And, naturally, posted on a story in the "Gay Male" section. One wonders what such an easily offended person was doing there. I can't imagine what s/he'll post for my next ;)

Pssst - I'll finally admit it. It was me.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
ahem...sorry, composed now.

It's not really my favorite selection but I found it rather amusing...

Sexy Son of Dr. Evil

I'm amused that you picked Seth Green for your celebrity fantasy. Just not your typical fantasy subject.

A little sappy for my taste, but you write well, I think, as far as romantic/sexual episodes go. The story might be improved if you were to focus more on what you (and other fans) find handsome/sexy/funny/intriguing about the son of Dr. Evil.

My favorite, not only for the complimentary alliteration (I glow all over again over the fact that it contains both evocative and elegant. I don't think anyone has ever referred to me or anything I've created as elegant in my life! :D), but mainly because it was from someone I don't know so I can't sabotage myself and tell myself that it was just a friend being nice. Of course, it could be a friend with another sign on....:D

Even though it was non-erotic, this poem actually got my heart beating faster... very evocative, and very elegant in its use of language. We need more of this sort of work.

I've been lucky enough to have very little negative feedback. Some of it is so gushy it's embarrassing. But I write for one of the high-voting categories with dedicated readers so it only stands to reason my feedback is good.

I did get one bad PC - and I know who it was from.

All this praise has made me quite insufferable. :)

That's the funniest thing - they kept reading!

When I put up the excuse of writers block on my members page, this particular response made me laugh:

NOOOOOOOOOO~! *claws at screen* Nonononono, writers block bad, very, very bad! *raises whip* Begon writers block! Leave the poor girl alone already or be-fall a thousand deaths! *promptly prays for end of writers block*

This one I liked for its originality (as opposed to asking me to send pics or whatever):

Rarely do Literotica submissions bring me to the state of arousal that your stories do. "The Novice" took me beyond. Sometime, if it interests you, I would love to let you watch me reading one of your stories while I'm quite
naked....and hard.

feedback...

I've gotten some negative feedback too... some of it educational...:p but the positive feedback more than twice makes up for it. I've had some that sounded so... "jovial" I had to keep it and read it several times! Just motivates me to write and post more!:D

I put all the positive feedback I get into a folder called Rave Reviews. I wish I could have kept all of it, but periodically my computer freaks out and I end up losing a lot of data off my hard drive.

About my one story, Love Play, that isn't about the X-men, and is my lowest rated, someone said, "I am drenched, absolutely soaked!"

The feedback I'm most proud of was sent me by an anonymous reader of my holiday contest story, Simple Gifts. "Thank you for writing what has to be one of the best X-men Christmas stories I have ever read. Since this is an erotic website, I kept expecting a mutant orgy, but instead I read a tale as good as anything Chris Claremont wrote during his stint in the 80's. I stopped reading the Xmen in 1992, but I just hope the comic has at least a fraction of the quality you bring to these beloved characters of mine."

Let me guess. "Too gay"? ;)

Considering the source... I counted that as good feedback.

No press is bad press, as they say. "It's better to be hated than ignored," no?

I have no public comment on my story yet, but a comment was sent to me anonymously, which was very flattering

(story is currently rated 4.59)

"Interesting story and VERY well written. Rarely does anyone at
literotica write a story that moves the emotions in so many directions.

We'll forget the physical condition in which you left me and simply
say I look forward to reading the conclusion; not to mention any and everything else you write.

Something tells me I should without question envy the man in your life.

Be still my heart! <wink>"

I loved that comment!

This is my favourite Anonymous feedback. It was for my story The Orange Slip.

Too few like this one

You actually seem to know more than 200 words of the English language - and you string them together like jewels on a precious necklace. I really liked the pace and the development of the chsracters - and the descriptions of their growth both individually and in their relationship. Forget three-somes and all the other erotic weirdness - just two people becoming one because they CHOOSE to share everything they are - worthwhile each, becoming so much more than just the sum of their (sexual?!) parts

MORE PLEASE!
But what I appreciate most is the feedback from my fellow AH denizens.

The other day I got this one for my story Death by Fucking:
Absolutely stunning! I've been reading lot of
good fiction in recent times, but this novel has
power, scope, imagination and is not at all
scared to express understanding of the human
psyche.

I feel warmed by reading it; I feel vindicated
and encouraged in my life's values and visions by
experiencing it; I have gained new insights from
it.

Andrew, whatever your intentions for the future
please, please do not even think of stopping
writing. We need you!

Once in a while I like a good read that is also nicely erotic. Recently, I opened the Repository and clicked on “Death By Fucking.” Sounded like a fun title. What a surprise. Straight out erotic science fiction, the language of love, heart and romance, excellent, imaginative story telling and very good writing, tight, nicely structured and paced, interesting. Congratulations.

You’ve probably thought, I should tone down the sex and publish. You should. You can.
