Couldn’t remember if I had pitched something like this before but couldn’t find a thread where I had.

Regardless: in a number of fantasy stories there are prophecies about a destined hero or someone who will change the world, sometimes you get stories where the mother of said hero is known (like in Krull), but what if we had a story where the prophecy is about the hero’s dad?

For example: “And in the year of Fire, Glen the pig farmer shall spread his seed and from it shall spring forth a hero of destiny, who will set all wrongs right, push back the darkness, yadda yadda yadda.”

So, in this story, Glen is living his life when suddenly the local priestess asks him to help her with something. He obliges and suddenly the priestess is naked and is trying to strip him saying that for the sake of her god, he needs to impregnate her.

Glen runs out of the temple and then gets propositioned by an elf who won’t take no for an answer but he gets away and talks to the elder who explains that he’s the destined father of the destined child of destiny and his only option is to either lead a life of debauchery sleeping with every woman he meets leading to utter chaos, or to pick one side and reap the chaos that will come from people fighting over who has a right to his child.

Maybe Glen even says he’d rather die than mess with that responsibility but the elder tells him it won’t work, even stabbing him only to have the blade break: until he makes a child to be the destined warrior, he can’t die or age.

Or maybe there’s a complication: Glen is the destined father but he’s a trans man: so there’s no seed to spread. So even if Glen has a woman who he wants to have a kid with he’s going to need to find a way to the necessary equipment or find a workaround.

In any case, it’s a story about a guy who goes to sleep a pig farmer, and then wakes up the most wanted man in the world, even if it’s just for his genes

That's very interesting.

I'd have his choosing, by a god or oracle or what have you, done publicly. The townsfolk are gathered and the priest explains that his god has told him that one of their people will sire the hero that will free them from oppression. The priest throws some magical stuff in a bubbling cauldron and it lights up. The town is aware that there is divine influence at work here. Suddenly a ball of light floats out of the cauldron and flies over the crowd, to illuminate Glen the pig farmer.

There is mad cheering and suddenly the stunned farmer is hoisted onto shoulders, and paraded around the town. A mug of ale is thrust into his hand and not the sort to waste ale, drinks deep. After hours of revelry, Glen awakes, to find himself in bed with three naked women, who are sleeping peacefully in the massive bed. But the bed isn't his.

His wits return to him and the events of the evening come back to him. The revelry sort of ended at the home of the mayor, who was overjoyed that one of his citizens would help save them all. By the time the mayor was passed out in a chair, Glen was whisked into the mayors bedroom by the mayor's daughter, then his wife and then finally their chambermaid too. The debauchery that followed was nothing short of epic.

He grabs his clothes and heads home in the pre-dawn light. He arrives at home to find the yard full of people. Emissaries from noble houses with wiling daughters, local single women, priestesses, even his ex-wife who left him, dissatisfied with the life of a farmer.

He fights his way through the mob and slams the door behind him. What he hell was he going to do now?

I've always loved wordplay with prophecies, so what if this ends up being a lot more literal than first thought? The prophecy isn't really about him siring a child at all. Instead, there is a great fire which leads a pregnant woman to come into the area where Glen farms. Some of the seed he used to tend to his land or if in keeping with the pig farming, fed to them, sprouted food. The woman is starving and close to death but miraculously finds the area clear of flames or rubble (maybe the sex-crazed prophecy followers somehow protected it?) and finally some food. She eats it and it gives her the strength to carry on and save her baby. Then years later it is that child who frees everyone and yadda yadda yadda.
