Ever done it? I've been feeling nauseous for days now and thought it might be a touch of food poisoning. I'm going to try to fast for 24 hours and see if that doesn't help. I assume I can only have water during that time. Any other liquids?

I went a-googlin' for you.

That's a good explanation of healthy fasting.

Basically (if you don't want to read more online) from other sites I looked at...if you're actually sick with food poisoning, fasting would NOT be a good idea for you right now. Only 100% healthy people should fast, and they should do it carefully with proper planning, not just suddenly stopping eating.

It states here that food poisoning that's mild and can be treated at home (I.E. you don't need to see a doctor) should only last about a day, so if you've been sick for the last few days, you need to go see a doctor.

Thanks. If I have this on Tuesday, I'll make an appointment. I know the flu is going around and I'm wondering if I have a mild form of it, if not the food poisoning. Everything's a chore, even showering. I have NO energy and movement upsets my tummy. I want pet to stay away in case this is contagious, so I'm doing this on my own.

I'm not afraid to go to a doctor or even the emergency room if I have to. Lord knows I've been to the ER before for various and sundry only-happens-on-a-weekend illnesses.

When your stomach is upset, one of the things you can do is the BRAT diet - bananas, rice, applesauce, and (dry) toast. It doesn't aggravate your stomach. Make sure you are replacing any liquids you are losing.

Any possibility you could be pregnant?
