Oh, yeah, I know what you're talking about. I don't understood the effect they're going for.

They want worn-out looking jeans without going to the trouble of wearing them out.

Well, back when they started doing it I think it was to go for the old, faded worn out look for new jeans. That's dumb enough but I think enough folk like the look of the stressed areas that they increased them more and more so that now you'll see jeans that look like they have a thick white stripe down each leg.

Why would jeans be worn out like that, though. Unless, maybe, somebody was dragging himself along the ground for an extended period of time.

I'm not sure. I always just wore mine until they fell apart. Worked better that way.

Don't your old pairs of jeans tend to lose their colour, particularly in the middle?

No. But I'm a girl. My jeans usually go out of style before they wear out.

Seriously, they usually wear in the butt and in the knees, not in a big sweep down the leg.

Haha! I have a pair of very low slung hipsters with little white stars all over them. I like to think i can pull them off but i probably look like a goof.

I love those faded style jeans, though. All my jeans are in that style.
