Al'ika fell back asleep, slowly, Flish stroking her hair soothing her like it always had, holding his other hand tightly.

Al'ika woke up the next morning. Slipping out of bed carefully, so she didn't wake up Flish, she began dragging water to the tub, hoping that by bathing, she would get rid of the sweat she accumulated over the night, being as quiet as she could.

"Not yet," Al'ika said sleepily from her spot in the tub. "Just wanted to get all the sweat off of me is all, I don't know why I'm sweating so much."

Al'ika smiled. "Almost done. Going to need help getting out, though," she said, leaning back in the tub to do her hair.

Al'ika nodded at Flish, indicating she was ready. She stood up, her legs shaking and she began trying to maneuver herself out of the tub.

Flish braced her under the arms as she stepped out on her wobbly legs. "Where do you want to sit down?" he asked, beginning to towel her off.

"Thank you, Flish," She whispered softly, sleepy but not wanting to go to sleep. She remembered the time she got the flu and he had taken care of her, much like this, and she gave a soft smile.

"You getting sick the winter we tried to run away and make an igloo to live in." he said, pouring her juice.

She closed her eyes and chuckled in amusement. "I almost forgot that one," she admitted. "I was thinking the flu the summer I built this house."

"You got sick both times," he said. "I don't know which was worse, your flu or the beating your father gave me when I brought you back."

Al'ika giggled at the memory. "At least you took care of me both times, and more times I can count," she said, sipping tentatively at her juice. "And trust me, once I was healthy enough after the igloo, my father gave me a beating of my own."

Flish got himself some food and sat down. "I have to go back to the tavern in a bit. I'll take you over to Edioz's. Just a caveat, Jester's enchanted your gear with something that will make you stay in bed and humiliate you should you try to take it before he's ready to give it back."

Al'ika groaned and tentatively ate her food. "I hate that man right now," she growled. "I did literally the one thing I'm allowed to do while bedridden! I hate being bedridden, I want my books."

"I can get you books, but magic counts as strenuous, apparently. I wouldn't know." he said. "Let's go when you're ready."
