Al'ika took a tentative sniff and threw up a little more. "This smells like what Hallowbrook's herb shack right now," she noted.

"Just choke it down," he said, holding her nose and dumping it in.

She forced herself to choke it down, and she coughed for minutes after, trying to keep it down. "Water," she rasped.

Keth got her water quickly and handed it to her.

Al'ika quickly gulped down the water, washing out her mouth and keeping the potion down. She looked at Issak. "Well?" she asked.

"Well, how's your stomach?" he asked.

 

[celestialdragon]

"It feels like the day I fell out of the tree," Al'ika grumbled. "I feel like I'm burning up, but I'm not."

"Is it helping though? I could try to get something stronger."

Al'ika shook her head. "No, it's doing it's job," she said. She looked at him. "I would feel better with an exam, though," she added.

"I'm not sure if Hallowbrook is up to it, but maybe Jester could help."

Al'ika sent a mental message to Jester, asking him to come to Issak's cottage to give her an exam, that she was feeling awful.

Jester showed up quickly and laid Alexis back on the bed. He looked her over and cast some divination spells to help him. "Good news, no baby," he said. "Bad news, you're doing too much. You need to stay off your feet for at least three days."

Al'ika blinked. "Three days? Al'ika S'enoi does not lay in bed when things are happening!" she protested. "I have to figure out the combinations of the herbs Father's missing for Flish, I have to help train the rookies, I have studies!"

"Well you're going to coat the town in vomit as you do it," he said. "Look, rest and figure out the herbs. You can do that in bed. We aren't going to fall apart just because you need to take care of yourself."

Al'ika huffed. "So what am I supposed to do for three days?" She gave a huge sigh.

"No fighting or spell practice," Jester said firmly, taking her spellbooks just to be sure. "Your gear will be at Edioz's in three days."

Al'ika growled and crossed her arms. "Fine. Any other restrictions?" she asked.

 

[bindingeagle]

"You can help Flish with piecing together the evidence," he said. "That's the best thing you can do for us right now."

 

[celestialdragon]

"I didn't ask for what I can do, I asked if there were any other restrictions, Jester," Al'ika said, sighing.

"Just don't do anything strenuous," he said.

Al'ika sighed. "So, I'm to assume I must go home now?" she asked.

"Unless you want to research in the tavern, yes," he said. "Drink more fluid no matter what though."

"And by 'fluid', you mean water, don't you?" Al'ika asked, sighing. She yawned before coughing a little.

"Water and juice, yes," he said.
