Falling for the Madness (closed)

"Does everyone think you are dangerous? The locals seem to think so, and obviously the people at the agency think so, or they wouldn't have sent me here."

He took a couple bites of food and drank some of the beer. He watched her for any reaction to his question. He noticed that she did not look at him, but kept her eyes focused on the door.

Those I protect when I am here know the lengths I will go to and their enemies fill the prisons and unmarked graves with that knowledge. The agency may not like my methods but they certainly can't complain about the results.

Tell me about you?

She watched the door for a long time till she was convinced that no one saw the dead guard or the beggars cleaning up the site of his death.

"The Agency has been after me since my Sophomore year in college. I wasn't convinced I wanted to work for them, until they made me an offer that was too good to refuse. I have worked with several field agents in my time at the Agency... none like you."

He paused and took a drink of his beer.

"I have been pestering the people at the top to give me an opportunity to work in the field for a couple of years. I am smarter than anyone else in the Agency, and I do not say that to brag... it is a fact. I speak multiple languages...fluently. I believe that if I was given the proper training that I could be a tremendous asset."

Which brings back the question of why did they send you to me? There are countless obedient field agents out there to teach you how to be their controllable attack dog. What is Jacobs up to?

She sat back drinking her beer thinking.

Why send the smartest desk jockey itching for field work to as their psychs have labeled me least stable wildcard killer? Alright you are so smart what do you think is the logic behind this?

"One of the things I have learned is that there is no way to figure out the logic of any of the higher-ups at the Agency. If I had to guess, it is an attempt to try to reign you in. Based on what I know of you before U came here and what I have observed since I have been here, there is no chance of that happening, and I am not going to make any attempt to do it. I am smart enough to see it would be useless."

He sat back and finished his beer and waited for her reaction and response.

Wise call.

She chuckled until a little till a little boy ran in.

Leena... Leena soldiers!

Stay here Danny... Jordan let's see what you got... Let's go.

Jordan jumped up when he heard the little boy.

He followed Legacy out of the cantina. It was then that he remembered that he didn't have a weapon.

"Legacy, they sent me without a weapon. I know you have an extra one for me. Trust me, I can handle myself with whatever you have to give me."

She crouched by the truck reaching in to get the Mac 10 and quietly handed it to him.

If the opportunity presents itself we take a straggler alive if not and wiping them out is not an option follow them.

"I have your back."

The words came out easy, but he had to admit to himself that he was scared shitless. He had never been in a situation like this. He decided to use his talents. He listened intently as the soldiers approached.

When Legacy started to say something, he told her to be quiet. Then he whispered to her, "they are looking to take you hostage. They want to make an example of you by torturing you." He listened a little more. "They know I am here. The boss wants both of us alive. He wants me to watch what they do to you, and then they will beat me before sending me back to tell others what happened."

They watched the soldiers move into position. Jordan waited for Legacy's instructions. He knew this was her area of expertise. He was going to follow her lead.

She smirked then began taking out the Nighthawk Ladyhawk again silencing it and aiming under the truck at the boots and legs of the soldiers.

They can try

Jordan followed her lead. He slid under the truck and took aim. He did not fire, however. He knew the sound of his weapon would give away their location. He allowed her to you her weapon with the suppressor attached to take down a few of them.

He smirked as he lay there. "These guys have no idea who they are up against.. and I don't include myself in that equation."

Having dropped a few she took out a dog whistle and seemed to make a set number of whistles with it and the half wolf in the truck above them sprang to action sounding like a demon as she attacked the fallen getting their firearms away from them and keeping them pinned down as she moved and stepped from around the truck.

Now Mia is that anyway to treat these good soldiers here to surrender a d tell me where the mines are exactly. I know Theo is probably the one who told them I was waiting here for them to surrender. The two left standing took aim even though one was young and clearly scared. A bullet found the one more sure of himself.

Kid enough people are bleeding all over this lovely street so how about you and I have a seat and talk.

With the Mac 10 at the ready, Jordan kept a close watch on the soldiers that had been clipped in the legs by Legacy. One by one, he moved to them and he picked up the weapons that the hound had pulled away from them.

Jordan then moved back to cover Legacy as she spoke to the one soldier who remained standing. He was pretty sure the soldier was about to pee his pants. It wasn't as if she needed him to cover her, but Jordan was taking no chances. The mac 10 was aimed directly at his head. He wasn't sure if the soldier was wearing body armor, so he was going for the head shot if needed

Mia barely backed away when the local police picked up the sounded and the dead. The one soldier left pointed to the mountains.

M...mines... Past the old temple... Ancient ruins... Don't know what they want...

With that the stress and strain dropped the boy flat out as she looked to the other soldiers.

See now was that really so hard? Why do you always have to make things complicated.

One started to speak and she shot him for good measure scaring the cop holding him up half to death.

Jordan didn't relax when the local police started to take the soldiers. It wasn't out of fear.... it was out of caution. He did not know the lay of the land and he wasn't going to trust anyone.

When Legacy shot the soldier who was already in custody of the police, Jordan smiled a bit. She was fucking nuts and he was starting to get an idea of just how crazy she really was.

He assumed that they were going to be heading toward the ruins and the mines. He wasn't sure exactly what they were doing, or why. He was going to have to get that info from Aleena so that he had some idea of what he is getting into.

Now... Hunt Theo down... Or scope out where the mines are? I really wanna know what their doing.... But I really wanna shoot his face off... One less pain in the ass I try to be nice to or recon on the target.

A personal verbal debate with herself interrupted by a brief

Get in the truck Mia.

As he watched her debating with herself, it was everything Jordan could do to keep from laughing at Legacy. He knew that if he laughed it would not be a good thing.

When she ordered the dog into the truck, Jordan headed to the passenger side door. "Finding Theo would probably be pretty easy, but shooting him in the face would be letting him get off too easy. I think you should let Mia feast on him for a while, then, when she has had her fill, put him out of his misery. That being said, I think we should go to the mines first. Theo will always be around. Finding out what is going on at the mine is more important."

Maybe... But up to the ruins of the old temple at least. Might find some goodies there too.

She grinned and the truck roared to life as they took off down the road and up I to the mountains.

"Hey, you are the boss. If you think the temple is the place to go, then I am with you."

He sat back as the truck roared out onto the road. Her laugh had him a little concerned, but, he was certain that it was going to be interesting.

As they drove, he said, "what is it that makes the people love you so much Legacy? Is it that they know that you will do whatever is necessary to protect them?"

Who knows why. When I am here it's home... Just the way it is.

She shrugged.

As for the ruins... Sometimes the drug runners hide stuff up there or drunks leaving behind alcohol. Maybe we can use the goodies to get answers or even entrance to the mines.

"I like how you use what you have available to you."

He knew there was more to Leena than she was letting on. He felt that she was putting up a front that was meant to uphold her tough image.

"They love you because you care about them and fight for them. I bet if the people knew what Theo did that you wouldn't have to worry about doing anything to him. The people would deal with him for you."

They won't kill their former president's only living grandson. But they won't stop me.

She shrugged and turned onto a little more than mud slick of a road.

As for using what's around... Better than waiting for agency approval. Might wanna hold on it gets a little tricky for a few miles.

He smiled when she told him to hold on. There was something about her that he liked... a lot, and it was just her looks.

"I am okay with tricky. I just want to learn from you and have the opportunity to show that my skills can be an advantage to a field agent."

Well we will see. The mines are only part of it... This mountain rock slime has his grubby hands in more than just that. And we will dismantle it a till we find him and then... Shoot his face off.

She laughed finding the turn off carefully for the ruins.

Jordan grabbed the handle of the door as Legacy took the turn off at full speed. He was figuring that there wasn't anything that she didn't do at full speed.

"You really like the idea of shooting people's faces off, don't you?" He chuckled a little bit as he thought of the idea of her shooting someone in the face.
