Your not paying for real for starters........It is threater. Always larger then real life. Most women I know take off their heels during sex for one example. Also more times we are not really watching sex. Porn films are often done with a lot of stopping and starting. Stop to move cameras.....take stills. Break for lunch. Doesn't even strike me as much fun. Jenna Jameson made a great film with a Girlfriend. They just had sex and filmed it......one of the best selling to date.

i agree with both of you. i like the home video porn much better than the pro stuff. even though a lot of the home video and gonzo porn is staged, it still feels more "real."
on the other hand, i don't think anyone has seen and action movie and complained that the explosions were too unrealistic.
ya take the good with the bad i s'pose. personally i like porn because all my partners just lie there and yawn.

I haven't seen much porn because I quickly figured out I was turned off by the fake quality of it. I'd much rather see real people having real sex. If anyone has some suggestions on good "amateur" stuff, I'd appreciate it.

Most porn sucks and I don't mean that in a good way. I actually prefer a good quality porn video that is not "home" or "Amature". One of the bestporn DVDs I've seen is called "fashionistas." Very good production quality and good sex.

I agree with the overall feeling in this thread. It is hit-and-miss for my hubby and I, trying to find stuff that isn't too rank in inauthenticity.
I did think of our most recent "hit", however.
There is a teeny-tiny production company in California called Pirate Booty, and they've only produced three DVDs: Psychocandy I, II, III. The premise is various style of Goth dress, plus some pirate dress in there once per DVD.
It is absolutely staged, actors are paid, so I'm not saying this is "real" or "amateur". But it was rather fun in the variety of ladies (young-waif to mother-goddess and everything in between!), plus their styles, if you like neat costumes. (My, ahem, favorite holiday is Halloween).
The DVD scenes range from "well done, I'm into it!" to "yikes! this is so goofy, it's almost embarassing!". (I guess you could say it is more amateur film-making than amateur couples).
But you find your favorites. Plus, you can tell which actors know each other from outside the scene, and it is fun to watch them! Zoe and Benny come to mind, along with LiLiAnn and Benny, and Dahlia and her "Master". Not just the sex, I'm watching, but also the body language, I guess. You can tell when they recognize each other, and when they were just "assigned" a scene together. But the costumes can add a lot if you like Goth-like dress and make-up. (And no, they don't all look like vampires; there is TONS of color!)
If any one is curious, it is a small-risk investment. You can purchase the DVDs on their website, piratebooty.com, for twelve (american) dollars a piece, plus USPS shipping inside the States (haven't checked out international rates).
The gent who introduced me to Literotica really enjoyed the Psychocandy recommendation from me (does that make us "even"?). So I thought there could be interested parties here.
(And if anyone ever checks it out, it'd be good to know what you thought.)

Some of the older porn is pretty good. The Opening of Misty Beethoven was great fun and played for years in a porn obsessed prosecutor's county. It's a porn takeoff on Pygmalion played for laughs (ok, not that sophisticated) with great production values and not too many phony moans (if memory serves).
The Devil in Miss Jones (if you can get past that grisly opening) is helped immensely by the fact that Georgina Spelvin was a serious actress.
There's also lots of stuff by women that is worth investigating.
Very little of the "amateur" stuff is worthwhile. Most, if truly amateur, suffer from emulating the pros. Once in awhile there's one with people who genuinely appear to know what they're doing and are enjoying themselves.
Occasionally you can find an outtakes film. It's a hodgepot but can be a lot of fun. One I recall had the actors laughing over blown scenes, limitations, etc., so that they were very human and quite endearing. I have no idea how available these are. However, since this was all filmed, there's some room for suspicion (see critic below).

i have to say that one of the funniest things i've ever seen was a porn, i think it was women in black or something, some of the people were spray painted green to make them look like aliens, low budget i guess lol, but the thing about green paint is when you get sweaty it gets rubbed all over everyone lol. if you're ever boared and need a laugh i recomend you go rent it.
