I know scalia is conservative. I know he is against giving gays the same rights as hetero married couples. I know he supports the boy scouts right to ban gays from their organization.

I don't think that's exactly the same as calling them "abhorrent, immoral, detestable, a crime against nature" and "inherently evil."

So did the Bible.

The PC crowd doesnt say so.

I prefer the former.

If you wanna practice your sexual preference.......DONT SHOVE IT IN ANYONES FACE!

What does shoving it in someone's face mean?

If you're married, aren't you shoving your preference in someone's face?

Now I know why you're called Busybody and not Busybrain.

None of that Cape Cod News crap.

Pic on our media if you must but at least we'd never vote a racist fuck into a judge's seat.

(I know you're kidding)

It amazes me that people still think this way. Even my Grandparents never thought like that. And they were all religous people. Hell, Grans goes to church three times a week, Catholic church, and she doesn't have a bigoted bone in her body.

This is what gives religion a bad rap.

No, religion is what gives religion a bad name.

So Grans doesn't have a problem with abortion or homosexuality then? Did she get excommunicated like I did?

It's not the same as saying it, but actions can speak louder than words.

You got excommunicated because you never showered between hockey games and mass.

Hell, anything to make Father O'Grady keep his hands to himself.

No, she's the President of the Church Activities Board. And no one says BOO when she brings her gay grandson and his partner to functions. Not even the padre.

Religion in and of itself isn't a bad thing, what people have done in it's name and behind it's shield is the atrocity. Unfortunately I don't think if will ever be different and I'd rather there was no religion at all.

No, spirituality isn't a bad thing.

Religion is a bad thing.

I don't think so in this situation.

I think the boy scouts have every right to keep gays out of their private organization. Would I be part of a scout troop that kicked people out simply for being gay? No, but they are a private organization and they have the right of associating with whom they see fit.

I think that gays should be allowed to marry legally and if they do then they should be entitled to all the priviledges of hetero married couples. I don't believe that gays that simply co-habitate and live as couples should recieve such benefits, but then neither should straight couples who just live together. The catch-22 is that a lot of states still don't recognize gay marriage and that's wrong.

I don't think that if Scalia and many people sincerely consider gay marriage as non-legitimate that can be the same as calling gays "evil". There's just a whole world of wiggle room there.

Scalia's seems to consider gay marriage a "special" right which they are not entitled to.

Moore thinks they are simply evil people. A lower life form. I get the feeling he wants them exterminated.

I just think there's a big difference there.

Fuck you, I still want my Augusta membership.

Are you looking to join any boy scout troop?

Which is because, probably, that most catholics aren't out and out bad people.

But if they're okay with homosexuality then they're violating church doctrine and bad catholics.

Not being a bigot to someones face isn't the same as not being a bigot.

I dropped out of the Scouts when I was sixteen. My scoutmaster kept hitting on me.

You made it longer then me. I dropped out at 13 and went into Civil Air Patrol instead.

Did some idiot call you right wing??? lol

I agree, it's not the same. But the results aren't that much different. Until the "not so bad" bigots come around, nothing will change.

I like PC's assessment, too

Depends on how far you back up to look at it. Which guy do you want deciding your laws:

a) Justice Roy Moore:
"Homosexual conduct is, and has been, considered abhorrent, immoral, detestable, a crime against nature, and a violation of the laws of nature and of nature’s God upon which this Nation and our laws are predicated."

or

b) Justice Antonin Scalia:
"This Court has no business imposing upon all Americans the resolution favored by the elite class from which the Members of this institution are selected, pronouncing that 'animosity' toward homosexuality is evil."

The end legal results may be similar, but not the atmosphere of the court.

He's saying people have the right not to like homosexuals if they choose. There's nothing wrong with that. Like I said before I edited, it's hard to determine the true meaning unless it's read in full context.

Allowing that it's okay for people to have a negative opinion about homosexuality is a far cry from calling homosexuals evil and despicable.
