The thread numbers, I mean.
In the wake of the silly/serious debate, there is one fact that I think everyone can agree on. With the great number of threads that are added each day, it's getting harder and harder to keep up.

INSERT THREAD TITLE HERE

I like the serious threads. I wish there were more of them.
I also like the silly threads. However, it may shock you to hear that I wish there were less of them.
I love Ambrosious, and I think this slow dull weekend without him only goes to show how important he is to the Board.
He just has to do a better job picking his spots. He'll learn. I did.

I look forward to the coming year, and to all the years to follow. But you have to recognize that as membership grows, so will the threads. Personally, I think this is a wonderful thing. It's always good to hear new voices with new points of view.
I also hope everyone sticks around. The Board needs you, and whether you admit it or not, you need the Board.

Now get to work, people. I want to see some provocative threads.....

All this I grant you, but that said, DOESN'T it make sense to make a little more room if possible?

Ok really nothing against anyone on this board.....

But...

Since I have returned to Lit I have been bored out of my mind. I love the new people so don't get me wrong. It is just that it seems the threads and posting all seems to be about competition. I am gone for one day any I have to weed through silly threads about people just saying nothing in order to get numbers. I know that people on this board can come up with great topic starters. I have seen a couple but with all the silly posting going on they seem to get pushed to the 2nd or 3rd page. I know also that the board goes through silly phases and in awhile it will change again.

I don't want to offend anyone but heh can we put this silly competition behind us and get on with the good stuff!

Gosh. I've just spent a couple of hours catching up on the board since I was absent the past couple of days. I didn't find it dull and boring at all. I don't depend on Ambro to entertain me here. There are a thousand other members here.

I don't think you learned anything, Nitelight. This didn't have to be a new thread. YOu could have posted these points on any of the other numerous threads on the subject.

Now, get to work, NL, I'm very interested in reading some of your stories.

Hey dude, I find that extremely interesting all the new people that have come to Lit recently. I still remember when you first started coming around and let me tell you, I was happy another smart ass had graced us with his presence. So bring them on, I say, lets get some meaty new threads.
It does overwhelm me a bit to have to wade through 3 pages of posts when I'm away though. But I do it, cause I love you all and I'm still looking for that "one" thread.

This was a slow dull weekend? Not for some of us! You must have been on a different bb.

The problem isn't the number of people posting. The more new people that come to Literotica the better in my book. I'd like to see this BB grow into one of the largest adult communities on the net if that's at all possible. The thing that causes irritation is where you get one or two people posting multiple threads - I've seen ten to fifteen in a row at times by the same person - so that everyone else's topics get shoved to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th page. I don't think it's very fair. It doesn't matter whether the threads in question are serious or silly. A lot of them just aren't being allowed to grow. There isn't as much chance for indepth discussion to develop, whatever the subject - depression in young mothers or how many nymphomaniac lesbians it takes to change a lightbulb in Paris. (The answer's 16, incidentally. I just checked.)

Killer Muffin has an interesting thread on the go at the moment about losing her religion. A few months ago this would have had plenty chance to really develop and bring in opinions from lots of different people. In the current climate I'd be surprised if it lasts long enough for that to happen. I think this is really sad. It certainly puts a dampener on my enjoyment of the General Board.

Clarification

Okay...just to make sure I'm on the same page as everyone...

I am not saying there should be no FUN. I mean...I enjoy the threads that ask for cool song lyrics...or drive-in root beer dives, etc., as much as I enjoy the threads that talk about religion and serious issues.

I don't think ANYONE is saying they want the fun stuff to go away. But, how many times do we see things like "Help, pay attention to me" or "I like cheese?" MANY times there are three or 4 threads in a row posted on by the exact same people with absolutely nothing to say buy "hello" and flirt with each other.

People are going to want to be friendly, sure, but can't they be friendly ALL in the same thread?

It is worth noting that not everyone has a fast connection speed. Sorting though pages puts a serious damper on the fun of enjoying the site.

ALSO - the habit of "bait and switch" posting as others have called it adds to the whole problem. You can't always TELL what a thread is about when you look at the title. The title can say one thing, and the subject within be completely different.

These are my concerns. I'm not trying to make everyone sit and a corner and eat gruel. I'm not saying everyone shouldn't feel free to express themselves. I'm just saying there should be THOUGHT behind a post...or else it's just CHAT...and we have a seperate chat area...don't we?

Stop that! You always say things so much better than I do. You are my idol, you know.

That's why he's the man!

Oh just wanted to clarify that I like all the new people. Just in case anyone read my post wrong!
