Re: images in sig..

I noticed that Tiger_n_NJ has several lines of text to the right of the image in their sig.
Can you help with this too?

That's done with HTML code inserted in the signature line instead of letting the BB software format plae the text. I'm not sure of the exact syntax used. perhaps Tiger_n_NJ could explain it?

Posting Pics

Hmmmm....

How do you post a pic so it can be seen in the post and not as an attachment?

I'm sure you have already discussed this a million times. Is it in another thread somewhere?

Thanks

:)

You can't attach a picture that displays automatically because the BB is configured to show links instead. It was changed to show only the links because the BB is slowed considerably by sending every attachment every time a thread is opened.

What error message are you getting?

Can you access the thread by searching for it (or one of your posts on it)?

Have you tried unsubscribing and resubscribing to the thread?

Can you access the thread from an older notification?

Possible causes:

A bad link in the notification message.
A corrupted database.
Some problem with your browser/ISP that only affects that one URL.
The thread has been active when you tried to access it and the file sharing function locked you out because the baord was too busy to handle all of the requests for that thread.

This is wht im getting

Are you sure the thread still exists? You get that mssage when you try to access a deleted thread.

If the thred does still exist, and you get the same message when accessing it directly from the forum index, then PM Manu with the link(s) that won't let you into the thread and details of the error message you're getting.

OK. TRYING AGAIN. here's my first message.

here goes

You have the format right, but you haven't uploaded the picture as an attachment yet. You need to use the BROWSE button just above the "submit reply" button.

(Note, do NOT preview after you set the attachment. Just submit the post -- you can edit later if necessary.)

Yep.

The picture is a bit large for my tastes in signature pics, but it's there.

Another note:

Now that you have the syntax right in your signature line, you can change the picture just by editing the post you attached it to and changing the attachment. (don't ever delete the attachment completely because you can't add an attachment by editing.)

thank for the tips.

yes, the photo is large but i didn't get to decide on the scale and didn't feel compelled to take a trip to kinko's and fire up their photo shop just for this. So liz's mug will just have to be a little large for now.

Resizing is simple with IrFanview (free) or PaintShop Pro (from www.JASC.com ) so if you post a picture witha request for resizing, it usually only takes about 20 minutes for someone to notice, and another 30 to resize and attach.

Your climbing gif only shows if it's been directly accessed first (ie it's in the temporary internet files. I don't know if it's because of hotlink protection, or just because the site is enough slower than Lit that it doesn't have time to load -- I suspect hotlink blocking.

<img scr=http://www.literotica.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=1669458>

You have a typo on your signature line -- it's SRC, not scr.

just a bit of tweaking

just FWIW, you didn't need to delete the image from one post and post a new one in another post to change the picture in you signature line.

Replacing an attachment by editing your post will change the picture without requiring any editing of your signature line.

PS If you do delete an attachment, you you can['t put it back by editing the post -- you can only change attachments, not add them by editing your posts.

aww Harold, you're so sweet. I know how to do that but after tweaking it a bit it wouldn't take my changes on the same edit!!! weird huh? almost like.....Weird Harold!!! *laughing
