Evolution's Children (RP)

"But of course, any friend of the Sorceror Supreme is more than welcome at our monestary." He bowed. "Allow me to just find you an escort." He said, standing up from the table. "No need to bother one of your order Mian. I have not been away so long that I do not remember the layout of your gardens. I would not want to be a burden upon you." He said, waving the man's offer away. He offered his arm to Storm with a slight smile as he led her out into the garden.

With a chuckle she stood and looped her arm in his as he escorted her to the garden. With just as much amazement as she had upon seeing it above, she smiled broadly looking at all the flourish of colors and tones. The smell of the garden itself overwhelmed her senses. Unable to contain herself she slipped from Strange and walked forward to sniff at the different fragrance of flowers. All of them different and unique with their sweetness making her dizzy with a childlike wonder and glee. "It is all so breath taking..." she managed to let out on a breath of air as she moved about to yet another unusual flower.

Strange smiled slightly as Storm stood enamored with the garden. It was a beautiful secret. The brothers of this monestary took great pride in their garden, believing the cultivation of life to be their most sacred charge. It was for that reason that Strange had choosen them to be the gem's keepers. "I am glad that you like it Ms. Munroe." He said smiling at her. "Perhaps I can speak to Mian about allowing you to take some seeds of the more hearty flowers here back to the institute with you." He stepped up and placed his hand on her back again as he leaned in to smell the flowers she was looking at.

"Yes that would be lovely... I would most appriciative." she breathed sniffing at yet another flower. Another shiver slide up her spine at the hand on her back but she did her best to dismiss it. Nothing more than contact among friends, she managed to tell herself and nodded while exploring more of the flowers. She was aboslutely in heave such a vibratant cauldron of colors and life. Yes she would have to acquire a few seeds to decorate her room. A slight wind picked up not of her doing as she held her shimmering hair from her face to let the wind caress her skin, the loin cloth fluttering about her hips. Ah, to be free this was how life should be... no hassles, no expectations just living in the moment and enjoying the environment around you.

"Jake.... Come with m'." Rogue smiled at him. "I ain't just dangerous from m' bare skinned touch. I can woop ass just as well." She winked at him, guesturing him to follow her into Logan's gym.

"I just warn ya now... keep yer butt outta the way. Practicin' with Wolvie usually leads ta one of us bein' hucked like a sack a' taters." She cracked her fingers, winking to the Canadian as she took off her coat. "Mind holdin' this fer me, Sugar?," she asked, glancing sweetly to Jake as she held it out. "I hate ta get it dirty..."

Logan and Rogue began to circle each other on the mats but he stopped and stood up straight, his ear twitching for a second before the alarms went off. He took off for the door, yelling as he ran past everyone.

"Rogue, get the kids to the shelters!"

He grabbed Kurt's shoulder as he brushed past him.

"Make sure the Professor's alright!"

And with that he tore down the hallways, searching for whatever set off the alarms.

Cripes, first the airplane and that kid and now this.

Logan skidded across the lobby in his bare feet. He didnt take the time to put the sneakers back on. With a bit of a sniff he lunged forward towards the large doubled doors, jumping up and kicking them open as he pushed through and landed outside a few feet away.

*Snikt!"

His claws flew out from between his knuckles as he sniffed the air, peering around. The air was heavy with another scent...something familiar...something savage. His eyes narrowed and his lip curled upwards as he growled under his breath.

"Creed..."

As Rogue entered the room, Blink stood by idly. She watched the woman who was her superior in her time and perhaps even in this reality she could be thought the same way. It took a little getting used to seeing different variations of those she considered mentors.

She didn't have long to really dwell on this before alarms started going off. Ducking instinctively she pulled one of her javelines from her quiver ready to do battle. "What is amiss?" she asked to no one in particular but needing information just the same.

Strange led Storm through the garden being sure to give her the time necessary to fully enjoy the beauties of the tranquil monestary. "It seems so rare in our line of work that we get to truly enjoy the beautiful side of existance." He said, staring at the profile of Storm's lovely face. He smiled and continued. "With all the death and destruction we are forced to face sometimes it is important to take the time to see what it is we are protecting day in and out." He said gesturing to the flowers around them, but still staring at Storm.

"What th' HELL?" Rogue gave him a dumbfounded look, but with the look in his eyes, she knew better than to doubt him. He caught whiff of something, and he was now in attack mode. "A'ight- Kids! Rooms, NOW!," She barked out, pointing towards the doors.

"Logan, d' you-" She barely got it out before realizing he was gone from the room. "Aw, Dammit.."
She stepped out of the room, seeing the girl standing there, frowning as she looked around. "We got us some company, and it ain't real friendly." She glanced back into the gym, looking to Jake. "Y' get back t' the main part'a the mansion, too, Jake. I don't like the sound'a all this."

Storm agreed with his words still admiring the flowers. She had been oblivious to his admiration of her profile for the time being but when the silence fell between them she looked up to find him looking at her. She blushed brightly at his intense stare and stood to her full height turning to hug herself. "Yes it is a blessing to be able to enjoy the little things in life. We must all be thankful for our lot." she said yet another wind not of her making fluttered about, she looked over her shoulder to Strange a gentle smile on her lips. "So do plan to stand there like a totum pole or will you not show me around the rest of the garden?" she asked with a chuckle.

"Of course dear." He said, leading her further down the path of the garden. He sighed softly. He was spending too much time cloistered studying the mystical arts, his game was practically nonexistant now. He smiled slightly and with a gaze of his hand a group of the flowers around them levitated into the air, weaving themselves into her hair. He chuckled at her surprise. "The beauty of this place compliments your own beauty Ms. Munroe." He said with a slight bow and a wink.

Jack heard the alarms, and shook his head. He stood up, finishing off the drink he had, then headed out of the kitchen. Something was wrong, that was evident. He could feel an odd energy in the air. That, and he could pick up on a slight electrical presence moving. That usually meant someone had highend electronics on the move. Immediately, he ran towards the presence. He found himself face to face with a huge guy dressed rather strangely. He could see the device in the guy's hand, and realized it must be some sort of tracer. "Hey, no ugly evil dudes allowed." He held up his hands, forming a ball of high energy plasma.

Storm looked around at the flowers twriling around her and smiled as they found refuge in her hair. With such an addition her current look went from earthy to tropical in a moment. She smiled at this allowing a lit mist to drizzle over the flowers to give them much needed fluid. At Strange's words she only blushed not trusting herself to speak for a long while. "You dear friend do flatter me..." she said with a chuckle. "I hope you do not wish to gain something in return with such pretty words." she breathed leaning her head on his shoulder as the day was quite comfortable. "But I'm sure this is quite boring to you, what would you have me do?"

Logan arrived just to see the boy charging some sort of energy. He slid next to him, grabbing him by the collar, and spinning on his heel to sling him in the opposite direction and away from Sabertooth.

"Get out of here kid! Help the students!"

When he finally skidded to a stop, he peered up to see the burly figure of his most hated adversary...Victor Creed.

*Snikt!*

Logan unleashed his claws again as the two began to circle each other in the damp grass. It was getting warmer outside. The two men stared each other down as a bead of sweat dripped from Logan's brow.

"Hey bub, ready to dance?"

Blink along with Rogue and Kirt helped to get the kids to safety. Ushering them back to the safe rooms where'd they be most sheilded from any attacks. Blink however was unable to sit still and went on a facility wide search for any stray children just in case.

Turning a corner she held a javelin at the ready in case she would need to teleport herself or an enemy out of harms way. As she camed around the corner she just caught sight of Logan pulling some kid out of harms way. Coming up to the kitchen French doors she called out to the kid. "Hey!" she yelled but stopped short at seeing Logan about to charge her mentor. "Mr. Creed..." she breathed but had to reign in on her emotions, she'd been warned that this realities Creed was not aware of her nor anything like her reality's Creed. Still seeing him there made her want to run to him, she did miss him so. Shaking out of her thoughts she dashed forward grabbing the boy by the arm. "Let Logan handle this we gotta look for any more stray kids." She spoke to Jack but her eyes wouldn't stray from her former mentor he looked feral.

Rogue rounded up the last of the kids, shoving them off towards their dorms, then picked up her com as she flew down the halls to check for any stragglers. "Storm! Strange! We got us an issue here... Logan's snarlin' like a dog in an alleyfight, an' just took off fer the front yard, shoutin' somethin' 'bout trouble... I rounded up the kiddies, 'n' Kurt's guardin' Charles... "
She shoved it back into her pocket, looking around. "Zero? shit... that boy'd better be hidin' in the Danger room er somethin'...." She hunted around, giving a groan at there being no sign of him. "Goddam nosey shit- Zero!!"

She bolted back to the main doors- making a note to herself to fix the mess Logan had caused- and spotted the guy being flung aside by the prowling Canadian. "You idjit..," She muttered, darting over and grabbing the younger man by his belt with a gloved hand and hauling him into the air with her. "If Logan tells y' to move yer ass, ya do it!"

With Rogue on the scene it made it easier for Blink to get out of the line of the fight. While she wanted to stay this wasn't her fight. "Mr. Creed...what happened?" she questioned.

*bliiink*

Opening a warp hole which she stepped in and turned looking at Creed and Logan... she slipped in the portal it remainig for a moment longer before it she would find herself stepping out of a portal where the children had been left. The portal closed quickly after that and she turned to keep watch of the kids.

Meanwhile... Storm heard her com go off and listened to Rogue's rant. "On my way Rogue." she said turning to Strange. "There's been a breech at the mansion we need to hurry." Soon dark clouds formed over head as lightening crashed, the wind picking up to lift Storm in the air, her eyes going white as they usually did.

ooc: gonna wait for Fenix before bring in Strom.

Her words stung him slightly, made him feel as if he were doing something dirty somehow. He frowned, out of her sight and then shook his head as she leaned her head on his shoulder. He might control the most powerful mystical forces of the cosmos and be able to tear a man's mind asunder with a single word, but women were still the ultimate mystery to him. He chuckled at the clique, but then heard Storm's comm go off and he sighed. Listening to the conversation he frowned, hoping the children weren't in any danger. "Let us away then." He sighed, rising into the air.

Gambit (Had to!)

He pulled up to the institutes gates, frowning when he couldn't get them open. "Somethin' big must be goin' down inside." He said, his accent heavy in his voice. He took out his adamantine staff and checked to make sure he had a fresh deck of playing cards before running forward and pole-vaulting over the fence. He landed with a hard oomph but was immediately moving, knowing hte mansion's security systems would be training on him as an intruder. True to form the laser cannons opened up on him immediately, but he was too quick to be hit. Flipping and cartwheeling he slid under the main door right as the steel security doors fell into place, rolling to a stop in the mansion's mainroom. He came to his feet, looking around and his eyes fell on Rogue as she lifted a young man he didn't recognize into the air. "Well here now Cheree..." He said smiling at Rogue. "What seems ta be de problem?"

Rogue shot him a quick smirk, though returned once again to glaring down at Zero. "Jus' roundin' up the last of a few strays...," She sighed, then gave a nod off towards the far corner of the yard where Logan stood. "Wolvie caught a whiff a' Sabertooth... an this dang fool tries t' take 'em by his lonesome...."

Jack still hung by his belt from her grip, Rogue refusing to let him back on the ground. "Forget it, Sugar. I ain't puttin ya down til we're back in the mansion. Ya play in the Danger Room before ya try 'n' tango with anybody, got it?"

Another smile to Gambit passed from her lips. "When'd I become babysitter, anyway?"

Gambit frowned slightly, Sabretooth here in the mansion? That couldn't bode well, still there were enough of the x-men here that Sabretooth shouldn't do too much damage before being brought to heel. "Wolvie plannin' on fighting him all by his lonesome as usual? Or is de rest of dem out dere helpin?" Gambit asked, chuckling slightly at the sight of her holding the kid in the air by his belt.

Blink watched the children for the most part but made her way back to the rest of the mansion noting Rogue quite annoyed with a certain hot shot. "I tried to pull him out of harms way but he didn't want to go." she said nodding to Gambit. Same ol same ol with him, even in this reality she noted.

"Is there something I can do to help?" she asked them.

Gambit raised his eyebrow as the magenta skinned girl appeared besides them. "Heavens. Ol' Gambit gone fer one day and when I get back there's unfamiliar faces runnin' bout all over the place." He smiled at Blink before turning back to Rogue "Well Cherie, I'll go see if ol' Wolvie needs a hand with Sabretooth." he gave a bow and kissed her gloved hand before disappearing into the mansion.

"Even if I offered t' help him, ya think he'd actually take it?," Rogue asked, raising an eyebrow. "Gon' stay outta the way 'less he asks fer the help. Which most likely ain't gon' happen..."
She finally let Jack down onto the floor, sharlpy pointing inot the rest of the building. "Now go rest it, Jack. Ain't no way I'm lettin' ya try yer hand on somethin' THAT big. Speakin' a hands... Let's be tryin' t' keep 'em to ourselves for a bit, right? I've gotten spooked enough t'day."
She sighed, shaking her head as she looked to Blink. "Right now, we should be gettin' the security systems checked. If he does manage t' get past Logan..." She trailed off, frowning. "Check all the doors 'n' windows on this level. If they ain't blocked, get 'em that way. A few panes 'a glass ain't gon' stop him."

Jack growled, first having been picked up and shoved away by the man with the claws. The bolt of plasma slammed into the floor, burning a crater several inches in radius in the material. Then Rogue picked him up and pretty much carried him into the mansion. "DAMMIT...I'm NOT here to be treated like a kid." With that, he turned his attention to the lasers, ignoring Rogue and the guy with the Cajun accent. Instead, he was focussing on the energy being emitted. Lasers and Plasma were related, and as his powers took effect, he managed to bend the beams from the lasers into a coherent beam of energy, which shot past Wolverine.
