Evolution's Children (RP)

Tending to her makeshift garden, Storm had gotten up a decent time that morning, as she looked out the window of her attic space. Her garden had been fed and water and thusly it was time for her to stretche her legs. Gone were the usual X-men attire she wore but now she went back to her roots. Garbbed in a lion cloth skirt and top, wearing nothing more than a choker with the ever present 'X' symbol, storm opened the door to her balcony. Looking out over the grounds the wind breezed past her face giving her the much needed air.

That air however, exploded in her face as she was pushed back by the force but not thrown. Looking back out toward the balcony and where the initial explosion had presented itself she hurried to the skies floating down on the wind to investigate.

A strange young man had found himself in a crater of sorts and now screaming his head off. Using the wind around her to land, she stood before the him placing a calming hand on his shoulder, she slide to the ground before him wrapping him in a warm motherly hug. "Shh... calm yourself. Let us assist you, what has happened?"

Jake blinked as he was wrapped in a warm and suprisiingly caring hug. He put his arms around the ebony woman hugging him. He stiffled himself and looked at everyone. The woman before him was gorgeous like the other one, did he fall into a modeling school or something.

"I...I don't know what happened. The plane just blew up and the next thing I knew I was falling. Then I hit the ground, BAM!" He paused and looked down at his hands. "My mother and sister were on board. They're gone now." His voice sounded hollow and limp, like he felt.

"He fell outta the dang sky...," Rogue said with a shocked look on her face, pointing upwards. She paused, then looked to Storm. "His plane blew up... He's- he's the only survivor?" her voice was a whisper now as she frowned. "Oh, damn... Keep 'im still, I'll... I'll get Hank."
She lept into the air, flying back to the mansion and threw open the doors. "Hank! Jean! Somebody! I need some help fer this guy-!"

It was always hard for Ororo to cope with death. It was all around them being a mutant but she could understand his loss. "They are in a better place now...just be comforted that they did not suffer." she spoke calmly, serene as she got to her feet helping him up with her. "Please come with me, I was just about to make some breakfast perhaps some food and company would help. Its all I can offer you..." she said then looked to the sky. "And perhaps a memorial for your family and the remaining passengers, in their honor." she smiled sincerely.

Jake nodded slowly and got to his feet. He wobbled but steadied himself easilly. He allowed himself to be led toward the huge house by the woman. "I'm Jake." He said lightly, his voice airy. He stepped out of the crater and realized just how hard he hit the ground. The other girl had flown away. The guy had put away his claws. "Uh, I guess it's obvious that I'm a mutant. You are all like me?" He asked.

"Yes we are mutants the majority of us." she spoke leading him into the mansion. "I am Ororo Monroe, many would know me as Storm. That was quite a fall there, I would imagine you have influnerabilty as a basis power?" she questioned more to herself as she led him down the hall to the kitchen. Pulling up a seat she went to put some water on the stove, setting out a few mugs for some tea.

"May I ask, where were you headed before the plane exploded?" she asked pouring the now boiling water in the mugs and setting a tea bag within them before handing the mug to him.

He took the mug and let the steam clear his nose. "I was going home to San Diego. We had just come from a family reunion." He sipped and set the mug down. "My power is simple. I cannot be harmed by anything. Not fire, not hitting the Earth at 200MPH. Then I can juggle pick-up trucks." He shrugged. "Nothing special nor useful." He said smiling weakly at her. She was quite the package, god what was he doing? His family just was killed and he is thinking about this woman's body. It was a shame they never found out he was a mutant. They never had the chance to kick him out. His mother was afraid of mutants and Jake never had the curage to tell her. He guessed it didn't matter now.

"I see that is terrible." she sipped her tea calmly looking to Jake over the lip of her mug. With a smile she drew her hand out before him coaxing him to take it. "Come perhaps I can help you feel a bit better." she said and took him by the hand. Leading him through endless corridoors and byways they eventually made their way to the lower level of the mansion, standing before a large door. "This is the danger room...usually it helps to get your frustrations out. But it can be used to do many things." As the door opened a large expansive room of metal presented itself. Nothing impressive there.

She walked up a flight of stairs to the control room where she tinkered with the settings. Soon below was a large jungle with wilde life and exotic creatures. Returning back to the lower level she smiled. "This is my personal setting I like to spend my time here when I am feeling a bit down. Perhaps it will help to calm you if you let loose..." She smiled and took to the sky her lion cloth fluttering in the wind. "Come." she called disappearing throught he thicket of trees and shrub.

Jake blinked at the metal room became a jungle wilderness. He reached out and grabbed a leaf, it was real! "Wow this is some technology!" He said, his greif nulled by his amazement. Then Storm went dissappearing into the jungle, motioning him to follow. "Frustrations?" He muttered to himself. He shrugged and followed her, pushing branches and leaves out of his way. A fallen trunk blocked the path Storm appeared to have made and he simply lifted it out of the way. "Hey where did you go?" He called. "Storm?"

"I am everywhere....try to find me." She called glad that he at least was coming around. She wasn't sure what environment would have made him feel more comfortable but at least he was no longer in tears or distressed. Perhaps later, he could talk with Hank and the Professor and find refuge here at least until he was ready to move on if that was his wish.

She flew to a nearby tree crouching low as she watched from above at Jake below. This was also a test to see his skills, for this room was not all exotic plants a fluffly animals. Real wild life was out here as a panther crept up in the distance haven caught Jakes scent.

Behind her voice he heard something. Like a growl, but since when did women do that? He spun on his heel just as the Panter launched itself at him. He put his hands up but the cat knocked him to the ground and it's jaw clamped onto his throat. It hurt but the teeth couldn't harm him. He reached up and calmly tore the panter off of him and flung the cat hard into a tree where it squealed and took off run.

He got to his feet and dusted himself off which was dumb because he was dirty from the fall out of the sky.

"Storm. I don't think this place likes me?" He called.

Jack wandered around the mansion, drying off his hair. He had spent half an hour in the shower, washing out the chlorine from the pool. Some of the doors were open as he passed, but one pair actually opened as he stepped past it. He stepped inside, just in time to see two people disappear into a jungle. He looked around, studying the place. It was beautiful scenery. But he realized it couldn't be real, as he was feeling energy all over the room. "Must be some kind of holography."

Chuckling she floated down next to him a soft smile on her face. "No it by chance does not." she commented. "But at least it helped clear your mind." she flew out of sight for a moment before the life hologram disappeared to reveal the room in its entirity.

Floating back to Jake's side she patted him on the shoulder and gestured toward the exit. "Shall we go see about that breakfast?" a light airy playfulness to her presentation she walked with him back to the kitchen. "This facility is infact a training ground for young mutants to learn to control their powers. I was once a student but I am not an instructor. The children that life here often have no other place to go, so they become part of our family." As they entered the kitchen she went to the fridge pulling out the basics, eggs, bacon, bread.... "If you have no place to be, you are more than welcomed to stay here. Hank and the Professor will more than likely have a word with you to see where you stand. And it would be a new start."

Stephen stepped outside the building stretching. Glad to see it was another beautiful day. He ran his hand through his graying hair as he stared into the sky. He smiled at the students running around. He waved to a couple of them then rose himself into the sky, letting the morning breeze whistle by him as he did so, gazing down on the compound below. He frowned as he saw the man come plummeting form the sky to crash in the compound, he descended to see if there was anything he could do to help, but when he saw the man rise with the help of Storm he figured it was just another one of the students having fun with his powers.

He smiled as he hovered in the air. He had accepted the offer form the Xavier institute to come and serve as a professor of Supernatural studies temporarily, to teach these children of the powers they could be facing outside of their own mutant foes. He had enjoyed his stay here so far, showing the students the truth of magic and the mystical side of life, and he most certainly was benefiting from the access to the technologies at the place. Though he relied on his own mysitcal talents extensively, a point of friendly debate between him and Mr. McCoy, he was still in marvel of the gadgets at the instititue. He floated back down and reentered the compound, hoping to grab some breakfast before his class began. He smiled as he saw Storm and a young man he did not recognize in the kitchen. He bowed before storm with a flourish of his cape. "Good morning to you Ms. Munroe. Who is your young friend?"

Jake smiled weakly as he sat down at the counter behind storm, getting a peek at her tight perky little ass. "I don't have no home no more. I have nowhere to go. I don't want to live here for free though I will find some service I can provide." He said trying to assure her that he was a stand up guy. Already he was pushing the pain of losing family deep down. It seemed nearly everyone at this school was doing the same thing. If they could do it, he could.

Rogue came back out into the kitchen with a sigh, shaking her head. "I can't find 'em anywhere's. I hope that guy's-"
She paused, seeing Storm and the guy sitting before her. "Well, ain't that peachy. Already up an' walkin' about..." She shrugged, turning back into the hall. Seems Storm had everything under control...
Now, what was it she had been up to before all the commotion?
Ohh, right. Asking Logan about Charles' message.

Storm nodded to Jake with a soft smile. "Well I'll have you talk with Logan he can get you something to do as payment of sorts. Word to the wise, he's a tough cookie." she chuckled and turned to note Dr. Strange entering the room. An eyebrow arched, did he ever take that cape off? She chuckled and nodded toward Jake, "This is Jake, a most unfortunate incident. He just feel from the sky, on his way home from a family reunion when his plane exploded and brought him to us...his family was on the plane." she explained in a hush so as not to distrub Jake with the reoccurance of his delima. "Is there something you'd like for me to cook?" she questioned to the both of them in case they were particular to specific foods.

Jake shook his head. "Anything is fine." He was staring intently on the door that Rogue had just come and gone from. "Who was that?" HE asked as if in a trance.

Strange frowned at the man's story. "That is most unfortunate. My condolances for the loss of your family. Everyone has their time to go, but it does not make the passing any easier on those who were close." He stepped towards the man and made a couple of mystical looking gestures with his hand. "He has suffered no internal injuries, it would seem our young friend here has abilities that would rival Mr. Logan's." He smirked slightly at that, turning as the kitchen door opened again to admit Rogue. "Ah Ms. Marie, a good morrow to you." He smiled kindly as she turned and left again. He gave a tiny shrug before turning back to answer Storm's question. "I was just coming in to cook myself some eggs and maybe a little toast, but please do not go out of your way on my account." He said smiling at her. "And yes Ms. Munroe, I take the cape off when I sleep." Laughing slightly at her surprise before she remembered his mysticism granted him a small degree of telepathy.

Jake nodded and licked his lips. "Marie? Her name is Marie?" He smiled and looked around. Then nudged the Strange guy with an elbow. "Is she single? Or is my luck so gay that all the girls here are already taken? I feel like I feel into a world where all the girls are Victoria's Secret models. Especally her." He jerked a thumb toward Storm.

ooc: oooh... you had to do that. *pinches*

Ororo shook her head she knew better than that, he did have some telepathy in that mystic head of his. It only made her chuckle more. "I was going to fix the usual, eggs, bacon and all that good stuff. Toast as well so please stay make yourself some coffee."

She turned to Rogue who can and left and laughed at that too. "That was Rogue our resident southern belle, Jake. Feel free to have the run of the place just don't get too snoopy...Logan would drop down on you like an avenging angel."

Strange chuckled at the young man's outburst. "As near as I know young master Rogue is single not involved with anyone, but her powers prevent her from growing close to anyone. Unlike many of us, Rogue's powers are as much a curse as a blessing. She saps the life out of anyone she touches, and unfortunately she has no control over it." He frowned slightly, it was a problem he had been wrestling with since he met her. He had tried to probe her mind, to see if she had somehow blocked the control herself, or if someone else had, but he had met a wall of resistance unlike anything he had ever encountered before. He chuckled as Jake indictated Storm. "Yes Ms. Munroe is quite lovely to that there is no doubt." He smiled and made another bow towards Storm. "Please allow me to help with breakfast." He waved his hands and the eggs levitated into the air, cracking open into the waiting frying pan.

Jake raised an eyebrow. "She can't touch anybody?" He frowned. "That sucks. I wonder if her powers can hurt an invulnerable guy." He said to himself. He turned his attention to Storm. "Eggs and bacon sound good to me." He said smiling and winking at her.

In a makeshift chapel at the far end of campus, a solitary figure knelt before the alter. Clad in simple and humble robes, the figure's hands were clasped in prayer, clutching a small, well-worn rosary. Barely auidible were his prayers, but they did not need to be loud. He would hear, He always heard.

Kurt Wagner's glowing yellow eyes opened slowly as he finished the Lord's Prayer and rose slowly to his feet, crossing himself with a bow of his head. The demonic-looking mutant's tail swished behind him, with a mind of it's own as his stomach let out a small growl, reminding him that the body must be fed as well as the soul.

"Da, da I hear you mein freunde" He chuckled lightly. His body became consumed in a sudden burst of flame, followed by the stench of brimstone.

*BAMF!*

In an instant, Kurt teleported halfway across campus, reappearing directly in front of patio that led into the kitchen. Normally he needed to see his destination before teleporting, but Xavier's was his home, and he knew every inch of it by heart.

Several new faces greeted him, along with the familiar loviliness of Rogue and Storm. New students perhaps?

"Guten morgen jeder" He smiled wide, making a small bow as he greeted everyone with a cordial good-morning.

Jack raised an eyebrow, following the woman with the flowing white hair and her young friend to the kitchen. He smiled when he saw Rogue there. "Hello there, Pretty Lady. I take it there's been a bit of an incident?" He sat down on a chair, looking this new arrival over. Odd one, he seemed. Jack could normally sense all forms of electrical energy, as a result of his gifts involving plasma, but for some reason, this one didn't seem to register. Then he turned his gaze to the woman offering to cook. Looking her up and down, he decided she was a very beautiful woman, which in his department, usually meant unobtainable. Still, he should probably introduce himself. "Pleased to meet you, Ma'am, I'm Jack Stryder. You can call me Zero, if you'd prefer. It's easier to remember."
