Everything Baseball

29 this year

625 in 1985 (!)...according to google. that seems off but if so, WOW
It's a shame too.

I doubt we'll ever see another 20 strike out gem like Randy Johnson threw for Arizona on 2003(?).

If they don't have a perfect game going, chances are they'll get pulled in the 7th now.

Just makes the last two performances by LA that much more impressive.

when Yoshi was in the 7th and only had 66 (?) pitches, I thought itd be a shame to lose that game.
I also thought Blake Snell's game yesterday was magical and if Treinen blew that, thatd be absolutely disgusting.
Yoshi was one out away in the 9th from a no hitter about a month ago and it got blown...that sucked.

Other random stats about this game and last

-Yoshinobu Yamamoto is the 1st pitcher with a complete game and 0 runners in scoring position in a playoff game since Roy Halladay's no-hitter in 2010 vs the Reds.

-Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Blake Snell in their 17 IP did not allow a runner in scoring position.

-Yoshinobu Yamamoto is the second pitcher in MLB postseason history to give up a leadoff homer but allow no runs after that and toss a complete game. The other was the Giants' Johnny Antonelli in Game 2 of the 1954 World Series. Both allowed the homer on the first pitch.

-Yamamoto throws first postseason complete game in over 20 years!

This post season has had some nutty moments.

That weird ass double play from dead center field the Brewers had will never happen again.

i cursed in three languages at the tv when that happened
I laughed my ass of at the center fielders face after it was over. He was the most confused player on the field🤣 i genuinely don't think he knew it hit off the fence. Only the home plate umpire abs the catcher seemed to know it was a force out.
