Everything Baseball

One of the greatest WS I can remember for Dodger history. Call it fate, destiny, or whatever it's all about timing and breaks. The "little things" that happened throughout the series (ball stuck resulting in ground rule double, base running miscues, timely hits and HR's, forgotten players who step up, etc) made for an exciting series. Buying a team doesn't make you an instant winner, it helps no question, but you need chemistry and the right breaks. Go Dodgers 👏

No. He was less trustworthy than Treinen...and thats impressive.
Not sure if you followed the Dodgers all season but he blew sooooo many games. The Dodgers led the league in comes from behind but also led the league in blown games. He was miserable.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m suggesting that Scott was dealing with an undiagnosed health issue during his struggles, and a healthy Scott could / would have helped.

Scott, in his depleted form, was an absolute liability. However, the guy was an all-star in 2024, so I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Losing an all-star caliber lefty pitcher (Scott) and another solid lefty reliever (Vesia) for whatever reasons made life tough for Roberts.

The Dodgers were better off with Scott off. They rehabbed Roki, and may give Will Klein more of a shot.
Tanner Scott will be on the payroll next year and will have to re-prove himself. I hope he regains his form. He was absolutely dogshit all year for us.
Treinen should be sent to an island and left to fend for himself. He is dead to me.

The very best video from the Dodger's celebration? Clayton Kerswaw's family jumping into his arms in the infield, and the future Hall of Famer on tears. Going out in style, on top.

Love your fire.

Your team just won back to back World Series and you are still demanding more (perfection?).

That ^ bodes well for a three-peat. I hope my Brewers can spoil your plans.

While im extremely happy as someone who's been a Dodgers fan for as long as I can remember that theyre repeat Champs, im sad today knowing the baseball season is over.

not perfection. just be dependable.
tanner scott blew tons of games this past year.

Tanner Scott blew 10 save opportunities in the 2025 MLB season, which was the most in the league
and Treinen was awful...his ERA was like 10.4 or something Sept and THIRTY (not a typo) in July...

I guess what I’m trying to say is: Imagine how your refusal to suffer poor performance from guys who were expected to contribute (and who were paid accordingly) sounds to fans of other teams when it’s coming from a fan of the back to back world champions who were so stacked they could overcome such egregious failings from a couple of players (one of whom had a pretty serious medical condition that wasn’t treated properly).

😳

Related:

I’m a Brewers fan, so let me tell you that I know about players disappointing / underperforming: Still, I’m pretty sure I could overlook their shortcomings if we had ever won back to back World Series…or even a single World Series…

Just sayin’

😉

Again, I do love your fire, and your demand for excellence (perfection?). I also believe you guys are in good shape to three-peat. Maybe I’ve been cutting the Brewers’ players too much slack…

🤔

This is what I expected throughout the season:

1. Started off insanely hot, 10-0, mowing down ppl. HIGH expectations.
2. Snell injured. Roki looks lost. Ohtani not pitching until June at the earliest. Temper expectations.
3. Kershaw looks good somehow, phew, doing well. But Treinen and Tanner Scott are terrible never play them again.
4. Absolutely atrocious offense, ranking 27th in the league for months. Betts has worst season. We let the PAdres back in, lost the best record in MLB, WTH is going on.
5. Insane September, maybe we can do this? Just as long as Tanner Scott and Treinen arent out there, definitely the achilles heel for the Dodgers.
6. Realization that theyll probably destory the Reds, but likely lose to Phily who are a terrific team.
7. Pitching absiolutely amazing throughout the playoffs, offense just enough to beat everyone. Crazy.
8. Praying for Seattle because Toronto is going to be tough, and I didnt respect Seattle as much. Also, theyd never been to the WS, and WS start times would have been favorable for the west coast. So go Mariners.
8b. Crap. Gonna be 6 or 7 games.
9. Dodgers get manhandled by Toronto in the first game. Oh snap.
10. Yamamoto with a complete game gem.
11. Somehow bullpen doesnt blow it in game 3 18 inning marathon.
12. And once again Treinen gives up runs as soon as he comes in for the next few games.
13. Yamamoto is sonce again just unbelievable. Superhuman.
14. Wildest Game 7 I have ever seen and I reiterate that Yamamoto is superhuman.

So...no, not crowing at all. I recognize with the Dodgers I have been insanely fortunate. I think its reasonable to say I dont want to see their relief pitchers again though? I mean...if thats my major complaint? I know all else either is clicking or will again.

I would have been pulling for the Brewers vs Philly by the way. My friend is a diehard Brewers fan, and we watch some baseball together from time to time while grabbing a drink to catch up and such.

Well, sure… I guess things could have gone smoother for the Dodgers on their way to back to back World Series wins…

😉

Meanwhile:

You are definitely correct in suggesting that the road for the Dodgers could have been smoother. That is what scares me about the Dodgers when I look at next season. They should have a handle on their injuries (was an undiagnosed issue affecting Tanner Scott???) and maybe they jettison Treinen. Ohtani will be another year removed from his medical issues, and they could probably shore up their hitting (I still believe pitching and pitching depth wins series - as I mentioned in an earlier post - but a little better hitting would make the Dodgers fearsome).

😳

Again: I love your fire and your quest / demand for excellence (perfection?). I wonder where you get those traits / qualities…

🤔 😳 😉

Don’t change a bit. You are…invigorating…

👍

If I had the money I'd pay Treinen to not pitch for the Dodgers.
Tanner Scott was injured late this year, not when he was actively pitching day in and day out...to my knowledge.
Maybe he is adjusting, maybe some injury, maybe a personal issue, no ideas. I will give him a short leash because he was terrific the previous year.
Treinen was amazing in 2024. He was shit most of this year. His politics aside, I hope he doesnt pitch for us again.

As for hitting, our bats were cold a lot of the year. Muncy is well past his prime, but he still plays solid D, but I hope they are starting to look for a 3rd baseman.
I love Kike' and Edman so they are safe.
Conforto and Pages are easily replaceable in my book. Pages had a bad post-season but looked good most of the seaosn so who knows there.
Smith/Freeman/Betts/Shohei are obviously safe.
Teo's D sucks and he wasnt hot this post-season but I love the guy.
Rojas retiring after next year.
Kim might end up being good, needs more time adjusting. I like him.
Call and Dean may end up being replacements for Pages or Conforto etc
Rortvedt seems like a good backup catcher. Perhaps better than Rushing. We cant carry three, so one is likely tradebait.

Lots of Dodgers pitchers were injured this year and basically didnt play or barely
River Ryan
Tony Gonsolin
Gavin Stone
Landon Knack
Kirby Yates

And Roki is a freaking starter...so who the heck knows what will happen. All I know is, I believe in Andrew Friedman

Yeah, the Dodgers paid for depth. They had the ability to overcome a lot o thing (things that would have ended most teams’ hopes).

😳

I must say, I’m shocked that you still have love for Teoscar: He was going to be my goat if the Dodgers had lost the World Series. His defense was basically nonexistent, and so was his offense.

😳

Of course, back in 1982, the Brewers had a right fielder named Gorman Thomas who was the goat of that World Series, imho. I kinda had a flashback every time Teoscar appeared on the screen.

😳

Gonna be a LONG offseason for the Blue Jays letting this one get away from them.
I was at the game, it was absolutely one of the best games I have ever scene. It was WILD Great series and congrats to the Dodgers. Jays, just left to many men on base. They had their chances.

Teo batted .286 in the playoffs with 5 homers and 12 rbis.
He wasnt great in the WS though, no.

As a lifetime Braves fan, I am curious to see who their next manager will be.

What an incredible World Series. I was rooting for the Jays but congratulations to the Dodgers.
Walt Weiss hired today, the obvious choice and a good one in my opinion.

Braves need a serious upgrade at shortstop, left field,DH,and possibly closer to start with.Infield looks to be ok besides SS if healthy.

Slim picking on FA's at SS though but that's the biggest hole to plug.

Starters look like Sale,Strider,Schwellenbach,Waldrep, and maybe Lopez but hoping JR Ritchie can get that last spot, was good in AAA this year.

Quick lil breakdown on the benches clearing "issue" in game 7 of the WS...including some camera and info on the SECOND potential fight

do the Braves regret letting Swanson go to the Cubs?

Wow.

I thought the Dodgers already owned them though?

But seriously, I hope SD gets a better owner and steers them the right way.

Get ready for everyone to hate the Dodgers even more...

Tarik Skubal to the Dodgers is supposedly nearly a done deal...for Glasnow, Sheehan and Zyhir Hope.

Dodgers rotation if it happens:
Blake Snell (2 cy youngs)
Tarik Skubal (2 cy youngs)
Some guy named Yamamoto
Some guy named Ohtani
Some guy named Sasaki moves back to starting
some innings eaten up by River Ryan, Gavin Stone (you may not recall Stone...he was 11-5 in 2024 before injury...
