Then you search for it incessantly, almost obsessively, fail - give up, forget about it, and then voila! - One day you just find it.

I found it today.

The sad part is this song doesn't even do as much for me as I originally thought, but heck I found it today!

Here it is: Brighter Than Sunshine by AquaLung.

Yes! I love that. It's like being reunited w an old friend. Only, in this case, you found out your friend doesn't really deserve the pedestal you placed her on all these years...sorry it wasn't as great as you remembered but at least it won't be nagging at the back of your mind. :)

Marginally better than this song about sunshine: http://youtu.be/E1fzJ_AYajA

I knew it sucked before I listened to it.

Naming yourself after a Jethro Tull album is sure to make that so.

If you're listening to crap like that, you're certainly not getting vagina.

I do know that feeling, the obsession.
And the disappointment.

But, as you said, what the heck, you found the song!
I found some too, over the time, thanks to You Tube and the net. Some were disappointing, but still they bear some memories and/or high-light them.
Those that were as I expected, as I dreamed, thought to remember, made my day.

And when I do, it turns out it's not half as good as I remember.

I was searching for a song for 5 years.

I even started a thread about it in 2005 or 2006.

I found it last year.

I know what you mean, now fuck off you guido asshole.

first, i love the song you were looking for, im glad you found it.

second, this whole discussion of songs about sunshine just made me think of pocketful of sunshine.
which i may or may not have completely forgotten existed until emma stone danced around to it like a nutjob and reminded me that i kind of love it, even if i dont know why.

(and who cares what the snobs think, aqualung is getting you more points with me than a frankly useless jethro tull reference - if youre going to bring them up on a thread that is sort of about sunny music, at least make it about sunshine day)

And to think I almost missed this snub

Ouch, that was harsh. Are you always this tough online or do you sometimes let your sensitive side out?

And, if you must know, I definitely do not get enough vagina. Now look yourself in the mirror and ask if you, sitting in your mother's basement, floggin your toggin and responding to dude's posts, are even qualified to make such an accusation.

And one more thing. Jethro Tull sucks. I never understood the American fascination with semi-competent Brit bands, nor did I care to. One thing I know for sure - No one gives a shit about a band from England from the late 60s anymore. Face it, Ian Andersen aka IndieSnob

omg..i do this all the time.

you search and search and search. you finally find it. give it a listen and then you're like...

what. in. the. fuck. was. that.
