Yeah ... he is gay ... thats whats about him. I thought football was a man's game ... that kid is just too sissy for my taste. He doesnt even look good.



As for the German team ... Snoopy, we played the best football since the World Championships two years ago. Especially the first half of the Holland game and the second half of the Czech game showed what we are able to do. Sure, I am as dissappointed as you, but they didnt play crap like the game vs. Romania a few weeks back. And there was more bad luck to it than bad playing.

And on a side note ... the german Coach resigned today ... which is not that good actually. Most people in Germany liked him a lot, but he thought it would be too hard to coach the team properly the next two years to the next WC and wanted to give his successor enough time to build a winner. Well ... we'll see.

My theory is that the day Ottmar Hitzfeld was fired as Bayern's coach Rudi Völlers fate was sealed.
I believe the officials and Rudi decided before the Eruo2004 that in case of failure he is to resign and Ottmar Hitzfeld installed as new coach.
And I think it's a good decision although I really liked Völler and wish him all the best. He's been the best german coach since Beckenbauer and he made the second place in the last World Cup possible.
But I think there's no better man to do the job than Hitzfeld. All other countries beware the host in 2006 !

So far my dissapointment is slowly declining and at least I'm now able to watch the rest of the tournament without any affections.
So I hope I'll see some good entetaining games starting tonite.

But now that Italy and Germany are out I just had a look at the remaining teams and which one I'd like to win the damn thing.
And I think the only teams I'd be happy with as winners would be Portugal and Chechz Republic.
And since I believe that England will advance tonight, I'm all for a Chechz victory.

(Sorry Lou, PaulUk, and all the other english fans but as a german I just can't root for England, I just CAN'T.)

Well ... actually I can (although I dont like Beckham that much), cause Rooney is a promising young guy who can make something happen. Portugal is not good enough to advance (I know I said that before the Spain game too) ...

As for the teams who should win it all, as I already said earlier in this thread ... I'd very much like a Swedish - Czech final and than I dont care much who wins it all. And I sure as hell hope (and I repeat myself here again) that the Swedes kick Horseface van Nistelroy and his fellow cheese munchers (damn the word loses much of its flavor when translated into english ... Käsefresser is just better ) out of the tournament.

I predict that England, France, the Czech and Sweden will advance to the semifinals ... but then again I am not psychic and anything can happen. Hopefully King Otto's Greeks will give the french men a run for their money.

I agree on all of those, excpet one. I think The Netherlands will beat Sweden. They've been steadily improving and I do think they have the beating of Sweden in them.

Sorry, I know the Dutch are a sore point with you.

Well ... I can hope, cant I . Sweden has to beat the Dutch ... that would give Germany at least some revenge. And as having the beating of sweden in them. They looked like sure winners in the Czech game ... until the Czech scored three more goals.

I dont care how they make it ... but I want a humiliating loss for the Netherlands ...

A lot of the games are really hard to call. It was hard to put a Joker on in the predictor game!!! In the end, I had to go France against Greece... I agree with Panting Lou, that Holland are probably a little too good for Sweden... but there's nothing in it. As for Denmark vs Czech, I have no idea.

There's a fourth game, right?

Czech ... definitly. They have won each of their three games after being down 0-1 (and 0-2 even against Holland).

The Danes havent shown this overall dominance (for the lack of a better word).

I seriously believe the Czech are now the heavy favourite to win it all. Even the French would have to try hard to beat them.

I updated my team with Portuguese players. Not that many of course, but still no Englishmen.

I hear what you are saying, Crazy, but I am also aware of the history of these things, which says the team which looks best in the group stages rarely wins. Sooner or later, the Czechs have to go a goal behind and not get it back...

But I won't mind if they do, now that I have a few Czechs in my team!!!
