I got 31 points from the two games this evening! I only had 40 before today. Quite a productive evening for Lou's Lads. I only wish I had swapped Owen for Rooney. I thought about it, but also thought Owen would come good.

Sweden Italy is a 1-1 draw. If there is one thing Swedes know it is how to defend positions against a superior team, and play desctructive footie when needed. So, boring game, but a Swede point in the end.

And yeah, Denmark will send Bulgaria home.

Which means Italy will beat Bulgaria in the last round, and Sweden and Denmark will have to battle it out head to head who wins the group and who gets to go home. (Did I get that right, table-wise?)

I picked up some points from England, but that's most of my players used up now, so I can't get many more before Phase 3.

I have the same predictions as Liar today. Bulgaria are truly awful - surely Denmark must see them off... and Italy vs Sweden will be too tight to call.

What did you think, Lou? I still think we look very patchy, and unlikely to win the thing, but it's good that we can find the net. I am glad we don't have to beat Croatia, though... I have a feeling that could turn into a draw very easy.

Yeah, I think the Croatia match could be a tough one. Then again, look at it this way: Switzerland held them to a draw, and we beat Switzerland convincingly. Also, Croatia might be all played out after their match with France. We are on a roll now and morale is bound to be high.

Imagine this scenario...

If we beat Croatia, and Switzerland beat France by two goals, England and Switzerland will go through (the Swiss going through on goal difference). If we draw with Croatia (and the Swiss beat the French), it will be down to goal difference for us, too. But, the chances of France losing to Switzerland are very slim. Would be funny, though! France are looking fallible, that's for sure! It does mean that the group is still wide open and all four teams will give their final games their all.

We aren't looking brilliant, but, as it always is with us, we play to the opponents - whoever they might be at the time. And, mentally, we are probably the strongest team in the group right now. If Croatia had beaten France, we could be looking down the barrel of a gun. AND, if we'd beaten France, we'd be through already.

I hope I made some kinda sense there! I just can't helping thinking about all the different scenarios.

Absolutely, that is what this group thing is all about. It's rare that things get settled quite so comprehensively as Group A... Portugal vs Spain, loser goes home... or stays home, or whatever. Our group has a few more permutations, but I still think the French will be way too much for the Swiss, and then it's us to get a draw or better for second, where we might well get to hang out with Greece! or *gulp * Portugal.

You're looking very fit today, Laur, btw.

Meanwhile, in Group C, the odds are tonight we have Bulgaria on the bus home and Denmark on 4... then what... Sweden on 6 and Italy on 1? Eek! Sweden on 4 and Italy on 2? That one is my favourite, because it could make Denmark vs Sweden a cup-tie, with Sweden having the draw in their favour because of the whipping they gave Bulgaria. A draw would put all three teams on five. That really would get complicated! Sweden on 3 and Italy on 4? That woul put Italy through, I think, just like the Greeks are through.

I had my joker on England to win but didn't think the French would draw - ruined my perfect scores in this round of Predictor.

Picked up 59 points on the first two days but now have to sit out the action until Portugal on Sunday, I'm going for a win.

Don't forget with the England Croatia game, Croatia have NINE yellow cards, if they hold any aspiration for reaching the next phase they cannot afford to be over enthusiastic with tackling 'cos players will be automatically suspended (from the next round) if they pick up more yellows.

I'm taking England to win, not draw.

If it all falls apart, expect big tranfers.
