You bunch of traitors. :D

I was just checking Predictor and only 3 or 4 had Portugal to win. And no one listened to me when I said Russia would win. :p

(Paul: second time I'm scaringly right, eh? ;))
I guess that's why you are now top of predictor too, smartie-pants *g* Good calls, L... The Portugal result was always a possibility (I had it down as a draw, and on the balance of the game, that was very possible), but I could not have seen Russia wake up.

What is there to say about Spain? Negative thinking has tossed them out of another tournament. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

OK, I have to go sell Casillas, Puyol, Raul and Morientes...

I'm third!? How the feck did that happen???

Big day today. Not only for the whole of English footy, but also for my FF team.

COME ON THE LADS!!!!!!!!!

Lou

You're potentially third. In reality you're still sixth, but given the average score of the 23 players you used so far (11+11+1) and the number of players you still have to play on this round (10) you're going to end up in 3rd, if everyone's average remains constant.

(I know, I'm mad) ;)

I'd rather have the lads come on...ok I shut up now.

I am so last, but I am one day behind the rest of you, and only two players used so far this round. I'll get you all. ;)

Uh huh... I think Lou and I have a few Brits each, so she shouldn't sneak too much closer to me (I'm actually third at the moment, but I am guessing you must have a few more Group C or Group D players than me, and that's where you'll catch up, if results go your way.

Did I mention that I have Spaniards for sale? Make me an offer...

Randi knows you don't have points to offer, right?

Well, I made my transfers too now... wow, you can get a lot of Swiss for the price of four Spaniards (kidding!!).

So, now if England go out, I get to sell four more players. I am starting to feel like the Xmas Sales here...

I did it right after the match, before their values start plummeting :D
I had a whole spanish defense team to trade away. Bought me a Czech, an Englishman (I assume they make it.) and a Greek. Oddly enough, transfers seems to be free now. Of it is only for eliminated players?

PaulUK. Who cares about points? I'm after her body. :D

That's a remarkabe coincidence, I'm after yours.

I bought in Buffon, Larsson, Heinz.. and... and... oh, schnit... I forget now... oh, yeah, Terry *g*

Oh, and I swapped one useless (Swiss) reserve goalkeeper for the eighteenth best goalie in Greece or someplace.

There free from now on Randi coz the group stage is over (after these games) but we always make transfers for the next round.

I'cw got rid of all my spanish and gone to a 3 in defence and bout in some players for midfield and forwards...

Yeah, I wish I had worked out how to change formation a little earlier than I did, though I don't think it cost me too bad.

Well, aren't you just the Queen of Optimism this morning.

LOL. I have no intention of being average or constant. I have every intention of picking up major points today with my French and English players, and rising, rising, rising in the ranks! Really, who could have forseen the Russians coming? Except perhaps a numbers player:rolleyes: lol

:D

Don't forget how she read the rules carefully. Honestly, there is nothing some people won't do to win.

I've been using that always reliable 2x5x3 Table Football formation since day one. I have been wanting to change it, but let's face it. The money I had left after buying those forwards and midfielders was only enough for 2 defenders. My bench is worth a total of 12.5 millions: 3.0+3.5+3.0+3.0 :D

And the news! My one transfer between Matchdays 2 and 3 was to dump Morientes. For one, I didn't want to be rooting for him to score, but more importantly, the papers were saying he wasn't going to play from the start. :D

In the news here it says how Morientes was dropped after some hot Portuguese babe flashed him in the hotel, and he walked into a door...

Hmmm...

Lauren, you cheat!

Hmm. . .

I see a tall Croatian player towering over Ashley Cole to direct a powerful header from a cross ball from their left, directing towards the English goal.

The French toy with the Swiss.

I dread the day the Germans get a win from Czech's B-team.

The Dutch should beat the Latvians, but could easily draw. . .

I'm very impressed by the Latvian No.9 (Verkochencovski).

Perversely, a part of me wants the Dutch to lose and the Germans not win, so the refreshing Latvians get through.

Funny old game, it is.

Now, not taking into count the fact that I'm german, but do we really want to see a Latvian team, that only knows how to put 10 men into their goal and block every shot so that every game should end 0-0, advance to the quarterfinals ????

I don't think so.

Snööpy

Heroics against Germany aside, I'm pretty sure we won't be seeing that, Snoops... :D

I really do.

I think your assumption of the Latvians playing for 0 - 0 is not quite spot on. They are very dangerous in counter-attacking. Of course, sudden break of counter attacking is an art-form in itself. Remember that over-rated Michael Owen goal against Argentina? Argentine defenders backs off and off because they'd been already yellow-carded or something and never made a tackle?

I back the Dutch, and if they fail, I rather see Latvians than Gemans. Nothing good came out of German football since Klinsman (1988 Olympic).

Hey, Paulie.

Hiya Chilly

Although it's kinda romantic to see smaller teams do well, I don't think anyone can seriously want Holland and the Czechs to go out now, after that display the other night.
