Er, probably not.

so whats it all about?

is short which 'ruling elite' get to rule us.

us the people who keep the 'ruling elite' in office.

so is it about democracy with unelected EU officials being in charge? personally Id ask the 800 unelected lords appointed by prime ministers or left the title in dadies will about democracy.

is it about Agincort?
Waterloo?

No.

its about making the ruling elite appear to have our consent.

People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people

I'll be voting remain. Not because I think the EU is great, I take the Tony Benn attitude to them. But because if the leave campaign wins, that cunt Farage will be able to claim victory and his smug twattish face will be all over the place claiming a vindication for his particular brand of hate filled racism and fear mongering.

Mt farage , he with the german wife, who deosnt want foriegners here?

personally i reckon people should just firebombe (middle class arson) poll stations and declare our independance, as humans, not as subjects of any ruling elite.

mock fucking debate.

well, your royal family is german. hell, the name of your country is fucking german.

We're being asked to vote on something that most of us really didn't care about until UKIP kicked off. And really, as far as the average prole is concerned, does it boil down to anything more than one issue? That being immigration?

As for what the business world thinks about it, I asked my boss what Brexit might mean to our company "Not a clue, I haven't really thought about it" came the reply  Perhaps I should have asked all the Romanians and Poles who work on the shop-floor...

i dont have a major problem with germans, or most other people really (eexcept americans , in part due to their quaker ancestory) based on where they had the misfortune to be born - assuming that they had the misfortune to be born outside of England.

instead we should all worship yorkshire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NawavFA538U and celebrate its Englishness.

Oh and the burn effiges of Lady Di.

i'll never understand why everyone thought lady di was hot. were they just being polite? the new one is cute though. kate or whatever. i don't fucking know.

and your thinking of pennsylvania.

and me. muhahaha. quaver in fear of my quaker blood.

I never think about pensylvania, even when spelt correctly it has too many vowels.

Butters n sean (Bs) will no doubt agree to remain in England to ensure this sort of crisis never happens again.

What I have read about it makes it seems the UK will have to agree to most of the things the EU does now to remain a trading partner. I'm not sure what freedoms might actually be attained.

take control of the A1, M62, M18, and stretches of the M1 and impose a toll on all who wish to enter God's own County of the White Rose. ;)

Most important?

Trafalgar! You guys rode that for a couple of centuries.

Having to vote with Osborne or Farage is like those stupid kid's games you play where you have to choose between, say, jumping off a 50 storey building or setting yourself on fire. I want a neither option, but I wasn't allowed one then and I'm not now.

The EU is an anti-democratic, bureaucratic, elitist project from its very beginning, and extreme free-market capitalism is in its very DNA. TTIP, anti-nationalisation rules, open borders, open competition, the CAP, the fisheries policy, are all absolutely anathema to me. I loathe it. I wish everyone involved with it a painful, lingering death.

On the other hand, leave, and our treacherous masters will simply sign us up to some godawful Atlantic Bridge style agreement with the US and we'll become even more obviously a client state. It's always those who bluster most fulsomely against Europe, and invoke the Churchill spirit, who are happiest to sign away our lives to global corporations without a by your leave. Or, best case scenario, we'll do a Norway and end up paying a fortune to still have open borders and all the rules but no say over any of them.

As the Irishman said when asked the way to Dublin, 'I wouldn't start from here'.

When it comes to a government that you do not like, our British Founders opted for the one closest to home where the people had the best opportunity to remedy whatever ails it.

;) ;)

The Magna Carta people! The Magna Carta!

1215

I got a credit in a sociology textbook that had it at 1066...

;)

The amazing thing, to me, was how many other students before me read that and didn't realize that the Battle of Hastings was in 1066.

i'm voting remain as the least worst option, and my youngest is keen to vote remain - we're going up soon. dodging the storms!

flooding in romford and barking, the tube is a total mess with the circle line completely shut down (flooding at liverpool street station), most the other lines suffering severe delays as well as some overlines affected too. the embankment's awash, causing problems for the underground stations beneath it, and there are people in barking and romford who can't get out their houses for knee high floodwater filled with sewage. more storms crossing london/essex all day. add hornchurch to the flooded areas... more to be reported no doubt.
