So... I was thinking about porn and the ethics of porn and all that jazz. There have been some movies/documentaries that have come out about the industry. Hot Girls Wanted is a really good one on Netflix.

I'm curious as to the thoughts of the people here on how you consume pornography. Do ethics matter? I mean, porn is a pretty unhealthy business; that's hard to argue. But, trafficking vics aside, they are consenting adults.

Does it matter to you if these are free range dick suckers? Will you only consume porn that's ethically harvested? Like, only minor daddy issues? Or do you care and just click click click fap fap click fap wipe? #ShameSpiral

The porn industry is an interesting beast, to say the least.

The ethics of porn is a tough subject. Outside of the obvious issues with consent, drugs and human trafficking - the actual business of porn is troubling.

Most of the big porn sites (Pornhub, YouPorn, RedTube, Brazzers, etc.) are owned by one company - Mindgeek. There are many articles out there about the company being shady af and putting themselves in a position to own all of the porn and also positioning themselves to be the porn police who will track and share your porn viewing habits.

Ethical porn at least ensures whoever does porn now is paid the appropriate wage and respect. The bonus is I don't see porn where the actresses look like fuck dummies. I love being used as a fuck toy, but a lot of the porn just looks too disturbing and lacking in any emotion. A lot of guys start thinking that's what sex is.

I don’t tend to like properly produced porn. I like amateur stuff. Or stuff that looks amateur (which is likely the worst as far as ethics go).

I mean, I’m certainly no porn police. I’ve watched lots of porn. In fact, sometimes I feel shitty when I run into the same video multiple times by accident. I’m like, “Fuuuuck, how much porn do I have to watch to run into the same video multiple times?”

I think we should be teaching our children to start using ethical porn. Like, if you catch your kids smoking cigarettes, you’re supposed to make them smoke that whole box.
