Do kids not find "old" music on their own anymore? By the time I was a teenager, I was generally aware of Elvis, Sam Cooke, Hank Williams etc, and I didn't have YouTube as a resource. These viral videos of young folks "discovering" the existence of songs that were on the radio during the Clinton presidency are amusing.
Anyway, let me throw out the collected works of Ray Charles from his time at Atlantic Records. It's the foundation of soul.
