Zara had finally succumbed to temptation, and taken Keith's letter out, fortifying herself with a stiff drink, as she read it.
He had gone to prison for his part in manipulating and abusing her, she knew, but in his letter, written long before his trial, he had abjectly apologised for what he had done, begging her forgiveness, and wishing he could turn back time, hoping for another chance.
She cried. She had really thought that Keith was the one for her, that they had a connection that was rare - something to be cherished. But despite his apologies, which she believed to be sincere, she could never trust him again. He had played with her feelings, her business, her body ...... he had not just killed her trust in him, but she could never imagine herself trusting another man. Never.
The weeks passed, and slowly she began to heal, her emotions no longer as raw as they had been, but nothing prepared her for the shock she got when there was a knock on her hotel room door.
"G.... George???! What the fuck are you doing here??"
