Because sometimes the writer wants to get right to their good story and others want to waste time with the poo-poo guy, probably because their story isn’t as good?

Maybe?

I will say I rather like the whole, "Oh. We've got a werewolf. How are we going to contain this fearsome creature?" approach. As opposed to the let's spend half the movie dismissing or locking up the first contact people.

Let us be practical. Just because you don't believe in whatever, doesn't mean it doesn't exist or some situation exists that has taken on the look of whatever.

Satire, homage, spoof, low brow.

Some are tons of fun. Light, easy views. Some are beyond ghastly.

Like horrible comedies.

Well I've tried to broaden your horizon with respect to some really old horror movies . . . maybe you should do the same for me with a horror comedy recommendation, so I can check out one or two. I will approach with objectivity, an open mind, and not withhold an appropriate snicker.

Roctapussy. This is hilarious. I laughed all the way through. So many tropes, and decent production value. The lead does lots of near nudity, and apparently produced.
Monster Island - The one I just watched. High school graduation on an island with nucleared (is that a word. ) insects. Carmen Electra. Usual tropes. Not bad.

Aaaaaaand that's all I've got at the moment.

Sickness and thinking are not all that compatible. I've made it off the couch twice today.

Ok, looked at the trailer for "Roctapussy" and may find an idle moment to seek further. However, on the same page was a trailer for "Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death" with Shannon Tweed (1982 Playmate of the Year) and Adreinne Barbeau (once married to John Carpenter) . . . now that might be worth checking out. Oh, and re "Monster Island" . . . a horror comedy with"Batman" has to be checked out as well.

A lot of times I think it helps to have grown up watching horror comedies.

Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein is, in my opinion, the holy grail of horror comedies. Also a nice final time out for the Universal Monsters.

Along those lines are The Private Eyes, with Tim Conway and Don Knotts.

The Lost Boys (a great mix)
The Evil Dead II
Elvira, Mistress of the Dark
Army of Darkness
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (not too bad)
Shaun of the Dead (fantastic!)
Happy Death Day

Those cover a variety of comedy types and horror levels. There’s gotta be something in there you might like.
