Endless Ends

Ahhh ok. There seems to be a lot of people on Lit from Texas. It is a big state so maybe it's proportional but I haven't run into a ton of Alaskans or Russians ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
Are there? I did not know.

I can imagine the heat or humidity zapping me but the light is something I'd never considered.
Lack of sun is the usual issue with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). But apparently the flip side can be an issue.

It's not the norm to find summer depressing. Who knew? ๐Ÿ˜‚

I have fond (?) memories of the summers in Houston. As a golfer, completely sweating thru three golf gloves in 18 holes in August was always the mark of a "normal" hot, humid day!!

I'm always getting invitations out here, and I never accept. I'm sure the people surrounding people think I'm most unfriendly.

So, in my quest to force myself out of the house more, I've been peopling all weekend. Went out to a local dinner party Friday, and a barbecue today. I am supposed to be getting ready to go to a dance, but -

I don't wanna. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜‚

SO MUCH PEOPLING

Besides, I don't know how to dance country western. I mean, I'm a native Texan, so I should probably learn, but - :p

*weighs options*

I recently (okay, semi-recently) watch a couple of movies from the Sewing Circle thread.

The first was Ladies They Talk About (1933).

There's an underlying theme oft repeated in literature and film. The corruption of one person's morality as proof of love.

In this instance, the male lead turns in the female lead when he realizes she's guilty of a crime. (He's a bit of a crusader. Holds rallies and has a radio show.) The woman can't forgive him, and plots vengeance.

Bunch of stuff happens. :p

Fast forward to the end of the movie. Woman shoots male lead. Male lead covers it up and lies to the authorities to save woman. So this person, whose moral integrity is his primary driver, abandons his principals and this results in love and held up as a happy ending.

This bothers me. The whole concept that one must become less than for it to be real love.

I mean, really?

Idk. I will say that someone once said to me: You make me want to be a better man.

Hands down, one of the sexiest things anyone has ever said to me.

KEEP YOUR HONOR AND INTEGRITY PEOPLE

That is all. :p

Iโ€™d argue itโ€™s a lack of self control.
Passion would be not shooting me even though I probably deserved it.
There is a certain backward logic here . . . .

Let me work this out.

So, she loved you enough not to shoot you, even though you deserved it.

It's odd how one can make anything mean anything if one just looks at it the right way. ๐Ÿค”

Enny, I realize the summer weather down them is brutal, but hey, you can stay indoors and listen to that great country music ! Some of my favorite "tear jerker" lyrics were:

- "My wife ran away with my best friend, and I miss him."

- "I'll be under the table by the time I get over you."

- "Iโ€™ve been washed down the sink of your conscience . . . Iโ€™ve been flushed from the bathroom of your heart"

- "And I'll hang around as long as you will let me,
And I never minded standing' in the rain, no
But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin'
You never even called me by my name"

- "Well, I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison, and I went to pick her up in the rain. But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck, she got run over by a damned old train."

- "Iโ€™ve been washed down the sink of your conscience . . . Iโ€™ve been flushed from the bathroom of your heart"
Washed down the sink of your conscience?! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Umm, so you realize I find the summer months to be a mild depressant, Investor?

Those are not uplifting songs!! Goodness. :p

Plus, country music. ๐Ÿ˜‚

C'mon Autumn!!!

C'mon Enny . . . you didn't even break a smile or chuckle over those?? You know that country music isn't just flowers and love ! Heck, I even left out one of the best: "if you get the feeling I don't love you, feel again" :D

Smiles & chuckles are uplifting !

You and this obsession with country music! Is this like golf?

:p

Country music is not an obsession . . . just an outlet for humor, and I heard a lot of it when in Texas. Now golf, on the other hand, was once a mainstay, but arthritis in the hands has put an end to that.:( As they say, as you mature, your activities change.

So take that chain saw, sythe (both the small hand one and the large swinging one), boots and bugspray, and get out there in the back40 while you can! (y)
