Victuals is the proper spelling. Granny often used that term in Beverly Hillbillies. It's a real thingFound it.
I am now sitting here wondering when the spelling of *victuals* morphed to *vittles*. Is that a real thing? I don't think I've ever seen it in printed text before now.
No relation to the movie above.

The winds are gruesome - 52mph and still rising. 'Tis unnerving.
On the clean side of the storm now. Minimal damage, as far as I can tell.
Did some driving last evening and grabbed some of the family children as I'm further inland. A mess with traffic and rain, but really glad all the adults scrambled. Their area took the full brunt. Broken windows, downed mature trees, no power and still raging. Kids would have been terrified.
Do you still have power, Boo?
And I can't tell from the storm map, are you still on the dirty side?
