Endless Ends

The Winter Solstice:

"In a spiritual sense, no matter your tradition, this is an ideal time to embrace your inner self and reflect on who you are and where you’d like to go. This is a perfect time for reflection, introspection and intention setting. Honor your stillness. Understanding one’s emotions, motivations and desires are crucial in order to manifest the life you wish to live. Mapping out a vision board and strategy for the year to come, often in the form of resolutions, can help you to get moving."

Perhaps this is the origin of New Year's Resolutions . . .

Ooh! Ooh! I am completely on board with a blended holiday.

Someone make it happen.

Please.

WINTER SOLSTICE

Looking at you, Investor. :p

Someone gave me a copy of Skeleton King, by Charity B. It is…not exactly what I expected.

😳 😳 😳

LOL. I simply can't turn down the lure of a good rabbit hole. :p

Besides, living rural a girl has to be prepared. For snakes and spiders and stuff, but also vampires, werewolves, wraiths, necromancers, zombies, and what have you.

You know, sensible precautions.

Lions and tigers and bears... oh my!!!:) Go's to the gun safe and ammo locker ... bring 'em.

A vision board for the upcoming year. Now that is actually a wonderful idea. These last couple of years have felt like one big flail. A little organizational planning sounds like just the ticket. :cattail:

As it happens, I was in the local feed store today. Alongside a truly boggling array of items, they sold guns and ammunition.

Now I just need my Creature of the Night Kit.

:D

Curiously you can make an excellent case for a 22 Magnum rifle as an excellent game getter and keep out of my house for whatever's. ;) But doing the silver bullet thing with it's going to be a bit more difficult. :D

She is a vampire, silly :D

Ahhhhhhh.

Welp. That explains the seductive eternal youth. :D

Well, as it happens….

I just happen to know a reloader who makes their own bullets. He thinks a workable cast in silver is possible.

I mean, not that it's come up in conversation or anything. :p

Makes you wonder if the Lone Ranger was a werewolf hunter....

I used to cast some of my own bullets in pistol calibers, it was a hobby in and of itself, just as is bullseye and match shooting. And yes, casting a silver bullet wouldn't be any problem, you'd just have to research proper working temperatures and fluxing. ;)

< And 🎄🎄🎄🎅, Enny. And yes, I clicked on the underlined words thinking they were links

Oops! Sorry about that. :cattail:

Just came across this PIC of the Hammer vampire lovers (1970)

I do believe you’ve come up with a movie I’ve yet to view!

And - according to Wiki :p - based on Carmilla? I occasionally enjoy re-reading Le Fanu’s In a Glass Darkly, though I will say that 1872 style of writing stretches even my fan-girl limits for last century fiction.

(Or, last, last century.)

This was my New Years!

Not really, but if I’d celebrated on a large scale just know the 1920s would have been my choice. :p

Welp. I’m so glad 2021 is over, though I did end up having things happen:

-Girl gang plans for New Years.
-Reappearance of someone long MIA.
-Exceptional family news.
-Werewolf showed up at front door.

Results:

-Girl gang plans canceled. (Covid strikes again.)
-Relieved and…vaguely hopeful?
-Still exceptional. :)
-I kid! I kid! (The front door is blocked by sheetrock. :p)

I do believe the best part of 2021 being over is knowing I won’t be cancelling every set of plans I make. 😂

^^^ One second after this pic was taken the Moped Guy drove into the back of a bus and the two boys on either side of her realized how they would spend the rest of their lives. :D

Siri and text messages when driving:

Me: *listens to message*
Siri: Would you like to reply?
Me: No, thank you.
Siri: Okay.

Why do I feel so juuuuuuuudged?

WHERE ARE MY EMOJIS?

Where is my shocked face? Where is my confused face?
