Endless Ends

I am ready for something to happen.

Like, now.

Like, just putting that out in the universe. 💫🌪

You live in Texas, don't you? Go out scouting at lunchtime for a good after-hours bar with music and a dance floor. Then you can go back later and crush the souls of anyone trying to talk you up. All of those free drinks at the cost of a dance or two and then leaving by yourself with some expectant fellows all flustered. ;)

Tinman!

You should, absolutely, hands down, be giving lessons on how to *girl*. Awesome. :D

I would (and probably should) rush right out and take this advice, except…can one pull this type of hair flip off with dirty hair? I feel like that might violate girl code ethics. And honestly, these days, I fell like I'm on shaky ground. 😂

However, I get to shower-bath-shower tomorrow!!! (As the inimitable Faye Valentine says. :p)

At someone else's house.

I am fine with that.

:p

What is a Full Wolf Moon and I already love it!

The first Full Moon After Yule! :cattail:

I'm not entirely sure why it's named so, something about the wolves howling more that time of year.

It's my favorite Full Moon, because:

-The start of a new year.
-My birthday moon.
-Wolves.

Sadly, I am not aware of any werewolf origins. Sadly.

Or are there?

* * *

Alright. That's it. That's my target date.

*happen*
*happen*
*happen*

You know, something.

:p

Speaking of happenings.

I saw a Leucistic Chipping Sparrow this morning!

A patch of hopping white amongst a bevy of it's brown brethren as they scavenged the side yard.

Leucism is distinct from albinism and not previously a word in my lexicon. Interesting reading - defective pigment cell differentiation rather than decreased melanin.

So pretty! :cattail:

Though…I do fear a little for it's long-term survival….

Oh! Maybe it's a sign. Sparrow totems are supposed to represent persistence and work ethic. Not entirely sure where I am with that. I feel like I've been working pretty hard already! 😳

Or sometimes, a sparrow is just a sparrow

Wait.

It just occurred.

Wolf Moon is not until January 17th. That's an extended target date for my "ready for something to happen now" wish!

Hmmm.

It had better involve a werewolf.

:p

Ha! Three sisters growing up and a couple of ex's who overindulged on the GNO thing and loved to talk about it at parties and such. SMH.

Research . . . for those late night, restless, wide awake, information seeking occasions:

https://westportlibrary.libguides.com/werewolves

https://www.history.com/topics/folklore/history-of-the-werewolf-legend

These are some great links, Investor! I had zero idea that werewolves went back as far as Gilgamesh!

You give the best offbeat links! I am really looking forward to chasing down all these rabbit holes in depth. :cattail:

(And you know that I will. :p)

How

I - in my vast ignorance :p - was unfamiliar with the ambigram, much less that one could exist co-dependently with a palindrome.

Huh. I wonder how often this happens….

Don't ask me why, but I'm getting this vague sense you disapprove.

:p :p :p

Only if I'm on the receiving end and don't figure it out right away. Otherwise, it's just how the game's played and an educational experience in life.:)

Noted.

You know, for the next time I meet you on a GNO. :p

(Honestly, at this point, I'm just hoping to someday be able to actually attend another GNO. I feel like I'm forgetting how to do *social*)

It's been a while. I've been getting into sailing and am finding that it can be heavily social which is going to take some readjustment on my part.

Really? I don't picture it that way at all. Are you sailing with a large crew or is it a group of people sailing together/seperately?

So an ambigram requires a certain font to work?

Does that make a calculator BOOB an ambigram?

Boobs, is there anything they can’t do?

Some ambigrams require a specific font, yes. But most ambigrams require hand drawn artistic flourishes applied to the letters of the words that are being ambigrammed (i.e., no standard font is used). There are several examples of this in Dan Brown's novel, Angels and Demons, which were created by ambigram artist and expert John Langdon. If you google on "Dan Brown ambigrams" you can view the examples taken from Dan Brown's book.

Yes, BOOB (the number 8008) on a 7-segment LCD calculator display is an ambigram.

Boobs, in the right hands, can indeed work miracles.

Sailing becomes social at the marina or sailing club if you have memberships. There are get-togethers and community events as well as helping each other out with projects.

I have my own boat and am still in the learning, class-taking process, so no crew or large.

Alright you two. Surely 8008 is stretching it. I mean, those 8s do not look like Bs.

(I mean, I’m hardly surprised at HW, give his fascination with feminine secondary sex characteristics. But Ben backing him up is just enabling. :p)

I did not realize there was a pre-curser book to The DaVinci Code! And I’m now wildly curious to check out the ambigram situation.

Because I am helpless when presented with a rabbit hole to jump down. 😂

Hello, btw. And welcome to the thread. :)
