Endless Ends

It’s the feel, the design, the history. Finding a rusty old tool that still has purpose or can be restored is like pulling the sword out of the stone.
A new generation of handcrafted knowledge and experience being handed over.
Think Frank Frazetta but with a wrench instead of a sword.
So much better than a cheap piece of Chinese garbage at the big box store.
I have seen too many Final Destination movies. Rusty old tools making me nervous. 😅

Has he met you? 🤣
I mean, you would think? 🤣

So while I do love my old, restored planer…I used an electric one when installing a whole wall of pantries.
Do not even get me started on old planers.

I think - currently - there are roughly 35 old planers hanging about. Twenty wood ones and fifteen metal. Ranging from 80 to 150 years old.

I will say no more. 🤐

I've got a few vintage tools that are sentimental because they belonged to my grandad, and great grandad, but why on earth would you want an old planer???? That's like choosing to use a rusted whisk or lead baking pan. No, just no!

When the power goes out?
Or you just like the old ways?
Or when you’re in the garage/shop because everyone else in the entire universe is insane and you need an excuse to be in there?

Forever?

35 of them? I like old tools, sometimes they are still really useful if it’s hard to find now. But most of the time I use new tools (ie, from my lifetime which granted makes some of them antique).

When the power goes out?
This happens soooooo often, how could I have overlooked it
Or you just like the old ways?
Yes, especially when making precise adjustments in small boxes or other tiny wood working projects... I'd still use a new hand planer over a vintage one, they make those you know 😉

excellent point, "sorry baby, can't entertain your friend's dull wives who only want to talk about reality TV while you all watch the game. I have to go oil my planer collection".

So maybe you tell the wives instead of reality TV, they can come in the garage and watch your DIY instructional on proper planer oiling. Maybe some oil spills on you and them and you all laugh and start stripping your clothes off. Maybe you all start spilling more oil, on each other and then the guys come out to see what all the commotion is all about.

Maybe “Game Night” at your house is about to get far more exciting. 🥵

Lol, if I could get them all in denim overals & white tank tops, this might be the only scenario in which my spouse would agree to group sex!

The Beast Must Die (1974).

I found this five or six years back and it's become part of my werewolf rotation.

It's sort of murder mystery werewolf horror. Think golden-age murder mystery weekend meets werewolf amidst a setting of seventies funk.

Yep. You read that correctly. :p

To top it off, Peter Cushing has a minor role as one of the guests, an archaeologist with a sideline in loup-garou and some curious theories on the disease transmission and likely murky end.

The owner of the isolated manse is . . . wait for it . . . a big game hunter who has selected his guests based on their lycanthropic possibilities.

*wiggles eyebrows*

The seventies were a weird time for movies.

Well, really, for so many things. 🤣

I have seen this. It was a long time ago but I remember liking it.
Well overdue a re-watch.

I'll look for it tomorrow. I think I Christopher Lee-ed myself out this past week. 😂

Ooooooh! Let me know if you watch!

It's super strange, but it's quirky mix of werewolf murder mystery weekend just works.

Wait. I feel this calls for a disclaimer. I make no guarantees!!!

It's . . . offbeat. 🤣

Four big projects is a lot, but a tracking thread sounds like a smart way to keep momentum. Looking forward to seeing how The Last Ditch and the others come along.

Then you will love this! 🤣

Did I mention they all dress formally for dinner, talk weird 70s lingo*, and there's black ops security around the grounds? 🤣

*jive? 🤔
The last vampire one I watched today was so bad. So incredibly bad. Even his acting wasn't great. I surmised that he didn't want to do it, so he thought "I'm going to be absolute crap in this one, as it deserves."
