The land is loving all the rain!

This spring morning there deer with the tiniest twin fawns I've ever seen, and barn swallows fledging right and left, and fat squirrels hoping fence posts.

Hair seems to be a recurring topic of conversation of late.

So many things affect it, mostly hormonal. Adolescence, Pregnancy, Menopause, testosterone, general aging, even illness.

Some jump through crazy hoops to maintain their preferred hair state. The Bestie and I are both starting to grey. We are the only two women in our acquaintance group that don't spend much time and money trying to cover it up.

Me, because due to my coloring it just looks like a slow increase of wispy highlights. (Plus, I'm lazy. )

Her, because it seemed to go almost white in one fell swoop. Practically overnight (I swear ) and is rather gorgeous.

Some people's looks aren't affected much by hair changes. I'm not sure why that is.

Others, crazy difference!

There was an older man (55 ) who became part of a social group when my sister and I were in our early 20s. He had this magnificent head of silver hair. Show stopping. It was the first thing you noticed about him and people were always commenting. We marveled.

At some gathering down the road, his mother brought forth a couple of pictures of him in his early 30s. Before his hair changed. He was so . . . completely mundane looking. Sort of a mid brown that made him fade into the background. You wouldn't give him a second glance.

Hair is weird.
